  1. Past hour
  2. It sounds like all the money (lol) is gone, and the most we will get now is maybe a cheap youngster or 2 on loan at the end of the window who nobody else wants
  3. The original and best ever Rovers transfer rumour for anyone predating 1992. The Tony Ford one was quite good as well although sadly i think that one was true !
  4. Seems you're forgetting who runs our sinking ship of a club.
  5. Vals comments are quite concerning to me I’m not sure how he can be content to wait because we have one attacking player in. It seems a massive shift in tone from a few weeks back when it was we need 3 before hull and now all of a sudden he’s saying we have bought time to be more patient with only 2 through the door a likely tanking tomorrow could reset that tone again we need another striker a number 9 I see Jorgensen as Ohashi cover lwb is required cover for rwb also and a cm - don’t think we will get close to all of that but him seeming satisfied and saying there’s proof the club is backing him has irked me
  6. It's a really intriguing signing this one, mainly because this fella doesn't appear to be an out and out striker. He's played right or left of a front 3 for the vast majority of his senior career. In 32 games in Aalborg's relegation season for example, he only played CF 5 times. He scored 8 goals in 32 games, but there was a hat-trick in there too, so make that 7 goals in 31 games... 1 in 4.5 games. Similar story at Bodo, he appears to have played almost exclusively on the right of a front 3. Not many minutes, but did score 4 goals in 10 appearances. 3 of those goals were either the 4th or 5th when Bodo absolutely hammered teams. He did get one 94th minute winner though. 3.5m Euro is a big fee by our standards, and the fact he's barely played CF in his senior career is a bit of a concern, particular considering we don't play with any attacking width at all. Perhap's he's been brought in to compete more with Yuki and Morishita, who tend to play in the pocket behind Gudjohnsen. Another gamble, that's for sure!
  7. Or Ray Wilkins viewing houses in Wilpshire
  8. We're on form in here today hahaha
  9. Not sure that Ismael implemented the system of his own accord There were noises that it was top down from Adam Owen, which may explain why Ismael (being "aligned") hasn't changed it back despite not having any strikers or wing backs for the past month That being said, your point remains, without wingbacks who can provide an attacking threat, this system is useless
  10. Very apt - always close to bankruptcy, change policies and business models regularly, have been bailed out by the owners who now want it to suddenly break even, suffer from having overpaid staff previously and then implementing extreme cutbacks, have downgraded many aspects of their product, repeated talk about new ownership that never happens... Maybe we will see an anniversary plane in all white with a maltese cross on the tailfin in the future 😜
  11. I see you're a seasoned pro in these parts!
  12. When was the last time we had to pay someone's contract up after a year? We are allegedly paying 3.5 mill for him. It would be beyond idiotic to give him a 2 year deal. It would also be ludicrous to pay anything like that for a player we thought might flop after a year and need paying off.
  13. Adult kindergarten is a phrase that springs to mind 😉 (but it would be fun watching the inevitable "fall outs")
  14. Have a feeling Pears will go his window.
  15. If he wants a challenge, he should come here to get us back up to the Premier League. It'll be like starting as Poland in the Total War games.
  16. I'm just going to sit here and assume he classes wing backs as an attacking option. The formation he implemented relies heavily on having very good wingbacks to form part of the attack. When Alebiosu is back, we are sorted on the right but as it stands we have no good option on the left. And we'd still; need a backup for both sides.
  17. That's the one part that made sense. His wife plays for Man Utd, so not too strange that he may have a car in north west England The fact that he would cost too much, would want paying too much, and plays in a position which we don't need meant it was never going to happen
  18. I'd assume he'd want more than this lad being a British player already on thousands per week.
  19. Never got the Lambo thing to add up, why would he choose a 16-hour drive from Toulose up to Blackburn, in January?
  20. Donnum spotted in his Lambo is the new Luca Toni seen at the Dunkelagh
  21. Today
  22. I don't know if wages were the problem with Cleary, so much as the £4m cash in hand demand from Barnsley.
  23. Val saying we can now afford to be patient in the market, thinks the defence is solid and wants to improve attacking options. Expecting a fortnight of still missing first team players It's definitely an opinion...
  24. They won't have committed to anything like that as an initial fee it will have loads of add ons. This comes hot on the heals of them flirting around the Barnsley lad but not offering more than a million or so, that's a good marker. They've done what they always do and taken a punt on the cheaper waged option.
  25. Agree completely. I groan inwardly whenever I read something like "versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line" or "can play at RB or midfield" etc. Seems to be viewed as the no. 1 priority by most Head Coaches these days. I see it as "Jack of all trades, master of none".
