  1. Past hour
  2. Bizarre that the details of Baradjis injury(or whatever the problem is) has still never really been addressed by the club
  3. What's everyone hoping for come match day experience V what will actually happen match day?
  4. Chris Crowe was playing on the right wing in my first ever game at Ewood. He came as quite an expensive signing but never really made the grade at Rovers. He had a good spell at Wolves afterwards though.
  5. This kind of comment can apply to a lot of players, but if Alebiosu had power, pace, physicality as well as consistently fantastic distribution/final ball he wouldnt be playing in this division.
  6. Yep 100% said the same, he's really come out his shell and found his rhythm certainly early his spot and can deliver some crucial balls into the box. His effort hasn't gone unnoticed, I'm quietly proud of him he's not your full on media bells n whistles player as we knew from the beginning quiet lad loves playing football, good on him 👏👏👏 stood and applauded his exit yesterday, deserved it
  7. Its the Rovers way Tyrone...NOT ALLOWED!!😆
  8. Give him some space and he can run past people. If a defender fronts him up he has to play the ball back into midfield again. He hasn’t got a trick in his locker. If we are going to play with a left wing back Ismael obviously thinks he’s a better bet than either of Ribeiro or Pickering.
  9. Love this pic of Scotty and Gudders
  10. Hmm all i have seen is him beat his man consistently and while his crosses have been erratic, but quite a few times he has delivered decent balls where the finishing has let them down. Hes done well for me. Obviously hes not Roberto Carlos but compared to the various wing backs or full backs weve had turn out for us over the last 15 years he doesnt seem particularly worse.
  11. High point for me was when Miller, I think it was, put that Southampton player over the barrier. That was a John Bray style tackle. A real “ quietener “.
  12. Well, Ismael has got a lot of abuse on here quite rightly over recent weeks in terms of his subs, calling out players etc. But christ he got them to worm hard yesterday. In terms of effort we were absolutely relentless. Generally across the season we've been pretty decent in midfield & defence; but then dont finish easy chances and give away soft goals from nowhere. Looked like that would be the story yesterday - luckily Armstrong was as poor as us with his finishing and we got a couple of scruffy goals. Hopefully the confidence that will build in Gudjonsen will make a big impact. Defensively it feels to me we really need Carter back as we miss his pace. I like Miller, very committed and physical. But when hes beaten he is not recovering, and you can say the same for Wharton and McCloughlin. I kind of expected the heads to go down, particularly when we went behind, so was really pleasantly surprised by how they kept going and going.
  13. Is he definitely English and not a mathematical equation?
  14. He is so one dimensional and lacks intelligence. He grafts, hes up and down and is fairly quick. But he just runs in a straight line and if he cant cross the ball doing so, he runs out of ideas, and when he does cross it invariably doesnt lead to chances.
  15. We need more than one attacker and more than one defender to continue to play this way, well we need more than that anyway. Up top, we only have 2 and the 2 we have are really, really average. One stands on 2 goals, the other on 1. I thought Gudjohnsen was poor again until his goal, he frustratingly doesnt put himself about half as much as he should, or use his body. But we cant have 2 strikers for 2 positions. We also are devoid of pace in attack. Defensively, we have gone from being solid to being unable to keep clean sheets. McLoughlin is average, Wharton error prone and I am not having Miller. The balance of them with Wharton in the middle doesnt look right. And again, we have only those 3, Carter is a right off. So we would need 2 more there. The squad is so thin its untrue due to terrible recruitment. Where do you stand on Ismael now?
  16. I really doubt Pears is on 10k a week. Hes never been a regular anywhere hes played. I can believe Toth is getting paid a bit less, but I would guess they are both around 5k-ish.
  17. He did work really hard. He’s got no idea how to beat anybody apart from trying to just rum past them but the lad is a trier if some what limited technically.
  18. Just a word on De Neve. May not be a world beater but he is certainly showing improvement on his earlier performances. Thought he worked tremendously hard as well. Deserving his place in the side atm. Also nice little cameo from Montgomery I thought.
  19. They will 100% have Toth bookmarked along with the new right back as the next 'developed' assets to sell.
  20. Can I just bask in the euphoria for today ? I’ll go back to being gloomy tomorrow I promise.
  21. From the upper Jack Walker I thought that was in right until it hit the backboards ! Wrong choice of shot I thought. Shearer would have put his foot right through that and it would have either knocked the keeper out or been a goal !
  22. So, Rovers revival it was. If you get a chance, have a look at the comments on the BBC report on the game - Saints fans sounding uncannily similar to the gripes and groans that have echoed from the Ewood sewers in recent times... Perhaps there is a wider game afoot, that we, as Rovers fans, parochially fail to spot. Perhaps not. Will take the win. OUT WITH THE SCUM
  23. A very welcome, almost essential given our next few games, 3 points. A win that I think is a temporary reprieve merely papering over the cracks. Two poor teams and this could have gone either way given chances spurned by both teams. Undoubtedly, Toth won us the game and McCarthy cost Southampton the game - the resultants of good and poor goalies. I don't think we learnt too much over what we didn't already know. A major concern is Tronstad who I don't think looks too interested and bothered. Worrying how easily we were sliced open and better teams will punish us. I look at our November fixtures and I can't see where we get a point.
  24. They didn’t manage to improve Nyambe in that respect. He’s also a good athlete but his choice of final ball is patchy. He got in once in the second half and looped the ball over everybody when it was crying out for a driven ball hard into the goalmouth. He had bit of luck with the goal. In swingers like that can always beat everybody and end up in the far corner ( see MGP at Old Trafford ), but that was almost central and I would have expected somebody like Toth to get something on it at least.
