Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

I believe it the same now that Ismael has the final say whether we sign someone. He has discussed with BBC Radio Lancs that he was the man behind the Morishita move and why. -

From what i'm reading - any progress made previously over the back end of last season, has now regressed and we are where we were prior to Glen raising his head above the parapet (again). -

WATR has a small number of people in the coalition chat, the same as several other groups, but it’s not accurate to suggest that the trust has been driving decisions or stifling action. No single group has been in control of what the coalition does or doesn’t do. As I understand, things understandably went quieter after legal threats were made towards one of the main individuals fronting the coalition. Given the seriousness of that situation, it’s only natural that they would take a step back. Unfortunately, rather than others stepping forward to take on that role, a number of people chose to leave instead. Alongside that, there were concerns around potential policing costs, personal liability and information being leaked from within the group, all of which made people more cautious about being visible or outspoken. There were discussions about doing something around the Derby game, but coming off wins against Southampton, Leicester and Bristol City, there were genuine concerns about turnout and how effective any action would be at that point. Posts that focus on blaming other supporter groups don’t really help and just play into the clubs hands. If anyone wants to see action happen, the most positive way forward is getting involved and helping to organise it. It’s easy to say more should have been done, but it’s much harder to commit the time and responsibility needed to make something happen. -

While I agree with your overall sentiment, there is one thing Eustace could not have known when he signed: the rise of Rudy Gested to high positions of power. I believe it is hard to overestimate how disastrous that development was. -

I've lost count how many times you've mistaken people disagreeing with you for them not understanding the point you're trying to make. -

having a bad midfield hinders your defence, there was no one picking up the 2nd balls yestrerday, sidnei was wandering about in his own dimension and cantwell is`nt fit yet imo,he is`nt a tackler to be fair, tronstadt a big miss imo,he does all the unseen, dirty work and we definately miss travis intensity -
They also said Blackburn had been ‘another’ of the big spenders in the summer. Which tells you what they know.

It seemed to be common consensus though, certainly when JDT was here, and maybe even Eustace, that the Head Coach had input into the selection process and the final say. -

So that's a "no" to all 3 then. Can we summarise that by saying you're not prepared to engage in any form of protest? (If we can that's perfectly ok, it's not for everyone) -

we had this debate/discussions before. So you say you understand but still go on and on about it. Football clubs have structure in place that isn't all about the manager like Fergie era or Wenger ear but have director of football/head coach structure with scouts/data analysts doing the scouting/finding players. The head coach is part of the structure Do you actually think Gestede scouts all these signings and our scouts like Michael Cairney, Asher Hines, Peter Sadowski didn't find and scout these players/signings? You don't understand Gestede doesn't scout players, that's scout job -

Whom was so confident of our striker hitting the net that he offered to give the presenter 100 quid if Gueye hit the net…. VI has his merits and failings but not giving Gueye more game time is perhaps not so hard to understand…. Actually bringing him on when we need a goal on the other hand… -

Miller is 6'2 to be fair. McLoughlin is so poor though, have to remember that Hull were quite happy to let him go despite them having a transfer ban at the time. -

Has anyone contacted protests groups from other clubs to ascertain whether they were held responsible for costs incurred and if so; what sums of money were involved how they went about raising this money -

scotchrover replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No, but nor is encouraging everyone onto the playing surface and breaking the law. The lack of ticket sales are obviously hurting the finances of the club. Every other post on the club’s social media pages are about buying tickets or merchandise. Mods- is there a chance we can have a vote on the matter about the best course of action? It might give the coalition an idea of how to proceed with the next protest.
