Pears? Why are you trying to sell our players? Need him as backup. -

One thing to add to this, is one of our prominent posters on here, has been threatened with legal action by him, for fighting the cause against him. I will let him decide if he elaborates or not, but he called me one nights several weeks ago pretty distressed by it. I did reassure him that it was just hot air and idle threats, which would not see the light of day, but what you highlight in your post is confirmed by those threats. The guy is a bully and a coward, who will not admit to his mistakes. -
Yes, you might have solved it there.

Can't see it. I can see us losing but something going against us at some point during the game giving the excuse factory license to go full steam into overdrive again. It always used to happen with Mowbray, even in the midst of the various death spirals there usually seemed to be something that happened in most games he could point to to deflect blame away from himself. -

Not sure if Gestede came from money or not but hes always had the air of an entitled brat. I think though primarily he's all about the money and nothing else looking at his career and the fact he seems to be hated by fans of both Boro and Villa. Hes now managed to add probably the only remaining fans who liked him for his brief playing spell here although not sure how Cardiff fans feel. I seriously get Steve Kean era vibes from this lot now in charge though and this geezer would be the first person i'd boot through the door. -
Yes.
-
Because it's stadium as a whole, it might also be related to size of away followings. Watford won't bring too many, I'm sure stewarding and kiosk staff requirements shoot up when we give a team the whole Darwen End, versus a team from the South East who will bring a few hundred.
-
Unpopular opinion but Pears is probably the best or amongst the best 2nd Keepers in this league. And nobody is keeping many clean sheets in this present and recent Ismael team. 500k is a farce for him at this stage unless there are achievable add on's although maybe they are trying to be fair and get him fixed up but much more likely they are desperate to get that wage off the books. They won't want to pay a reserve keeper a first team wage and also that clown comes across as commission hungry to wheel and deal.
-
Because it is against the law to share a phonecall publicly without consent. You could argue it's in the public interest I suppose but you'd probably lose. If the person recording is acting on behalf of a business, they have to tell the other side they're recording and if they're acting as an individual they can record, but they can't share it publicly because the GDPR then applies as it's no longer "personal" use. As is my understanding anyway. Not legal advice etc etc
-
Ah, interesting thanks. To me then, it seems they've no way of knowing whether your mate will actually be needed, they're guessing it might be a poor turn out and gambling that they can get away without him and a few others in an effort to save relative pennies in the general scheme of things.
-
With a steward, they get assigned to different areas of the stadium whether that be the away end, home end or in the turnstiles. They find that out on the day.
-
Are u boycotting gav?
- Today
-
Ah ok - thanks. They must be anticipating a low crowd then - but I still can't see how they can rely on guesswork - unless your mate works in a section of the stadium where there's a higher proportion of walk ons because it's cheaper -say the Riverside- and those walk on tickets simply haven't been sold. What if the boycott didnt take off and there was some kind of incident and they were understaffed? They'd be in all sorts of bother.
-
I would imagine they will reduce the catering staff requirement if they're doing so for stewards regardless of that post on twitter being wrong. Stewards are there for safety, so the club has an obligation to staff for the reasonable maximum crowd. Obviously it's not as important to have enough bar staff etc. And they already understaff the kiosks anyway, have you ever tried to buy a pint at HT? We'll know soon enough anyway.

I think we will somehow win this one, bizarre error at back for Watford or an own goal or red card to go in our favour and somehow win 1-0 in a turgid game. No rationale or reason for that, just think the football gods will chuck in a coupon buster at our long term expense as it will keep operation Ismael rolling a bit longer. The manager, board and Venkyclappers will go into smug overdrive and then we'll go on another abysmal run. -
I don't think they're closing bars and kiosks I think they will just be on a skeleton staff. If they did start closing stuff, Venkyclappers on social media would just blame boycotters, not the owners. "So negative, get behind the lads, we should be grateful they're putting the money in, boycotters will kill the club" etc etc etc

I very much doubt Gestede has the authority to sack Ismael. At the very least he will need the approval of Pasha, and I'm not even sure Pasha has that authority, he'd probably need approval from India or the money men in Pune to terminate such a contract. Too many cooks spoiling the broth again and too much of a long chain back to a decision, too many arses to protect and jobs on the gravy train to maintain. Too many boats risk being rocked and nobody wants to draw attention onto the comfy setup they've got going for themselves down at Ewood. Oh no, they want to keep things as they are. If anything the increasing pressure and focus on results and Ismael's performance helps divert attention away from their mismanagement and destruction from the boardroom. They'll probably be enjoying everyone talking about 1 win in 13 and abysmal performances rather than them. Even if a decision was made to sack him, we aren't capable of sourcing a replacement in a week, and any competent manager would rightly expect latitude to operate in the January window to address this squad as a precondition to joining. All sounds like a lot of hard work, hassle and cost to me. Let's just leave Ismael to it and hope we have enough to preserve the gravy train for another year. If we go down? Oh well, make a few excuses about referees, injuries and the weather, and then look forward to another revolving door summer and %%%s on trading. -
It'd be good to know the truth of it. I can't see how the Club could arbitrarily partially reduce staff numbers across the stadium without knowing exactly how many are going to be missing and what parts of the stadium they're going to be missing from. If they did take food and drink completely off the menu for this fixture, it gives the Coalition an angle that they're punishing the fans who ignored the boycott.
-
Definitely couldn't live without it 👌
-
This was received because he’s a steward. I’m not sure about other roles such as bar staff.
-
That's not true though, or at least that screenshot isn't proof. It's the same one from 2 pages ago referring to a steward.

If the previous widow is anything to go by, they are more likely to offload one or more of Alebiosu, Toth, Tronstad or Cantwell in the final minutes of the window without a replacement & voila, plenty of room in tie squad
