Some pretty remarkable news about the 2027 Tour de France Grand Depart. We already knew that the first three stages would be in the UK. Stage 1 will be Edinburgh to Carlisle, stage 2 Keswick to Liverpool and stage 3 Welshpool to Cardiff. Stage 2 is the one to get excited about locally, as it comes right over the Forest of Bowland, straight past Ewood Park and then over Belmont, down to Eccleston and up Parbold Hill before racing into Liverpool. I’ve cycled pretty much the whole of that stage over the years, some bits of it many times. His goal record across his whole career is 58 in 174 according to Wiki, so one goal in three, not too bad. Fingers crossed he's an Alebiosu or a Gudjohnsen and not a Dennis or Gueye. Unfortunately for him, he isn't going to get much time, we're in the mire so he needs to hit the ground running. Good luck to him.

I did say fair play but saying that a player will sign without naming him is hardly a massive scoop. I haven't seen a single attribute that makes me positive about him potentially coming good. I didn't know if maybe you have.

To be fair, Mercer didnt name the player. He just said that a striker is signing. It turned out for a change to be true so fair play but I am not sure saying an unnamed player will sign is a huge scoop. Nor was the skepticism unwarranted considering the track record in question.
