I wonder what are the chances that the Riverside will be closed down next season, to allow for "The upgrade of the drainage system" ?

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
KidderStreetNoise replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not in name or branding, but members of the coalition became part of the trust's board, therefore had to be less militant as they were now representing the supporters trust. Trust board members became part of the coalition & they were never going to be as militant because they were a part of the trust that had achieved nothing for years. -

Have they fused? Thought WATR stayed separate? If they have then my original point stands even more, it’s one group, it’s them or nowt. -
January Transfer Needs

No he hasn't. If anything he's been a hindrance every time he's stepped foot on the pitch. I imagine they were trying as Ismael clearly hasn't fancied him since he came in. Aside from a brief spell last season that peaked with WBA away, Gueye has been a woeful signing who simply hasn't developed any sort of intelligence to play at this level. He's also the type of player who clearly needs an arm round his shoulder and I'm not sure Ismael is the type. Ohashi and Gudjohnsen desperately need decent competition so that when substitutions happen it doesn't completely derail the team in an attacking sense. Shame we flogged Leonard to Peterborough really as he would've been a better option than Gueye IMO. -

But they fused, with coalition members going on to the trust's board & trust members getting involved with the coalition -

Jesus Christ. I missed that off my ‘reasons why we’re going down’ post on this thread. That would have been number 2 behind Venky’s taking us down on our 150th year. -

This is subjective, so confirmation is tough, but my tuppence: I left the coalition (it’s not even formally a thing, by the time I left it was two group chats) basically because there was action around the Derby game planned but I and another got stonewalled on it. My suggestion was that the trust had the governance and infrastructure to fundraise for that action - I wasn’t comfortable having a fundraiser done by a lone person or group of independent people. I was told expressly by Trust board members that the didn’t have the mandate to fundraise for action, the rest of the board wasn’t as motivated to take action as the coalition/the trust board members in that coalition were and that some board members didn’t need the heat on them. The plan for action ran out of time, I left the group. In my view - everything slowed at the point where the Trust and The Coalition fused a bit. I expect those still active will say that’s not the case and that’s their opinion to have. But it isn’t my experience. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

To be fair you'd have to go some to achieve that. Worst home record in the Club's 150 year history. One win, three draws and six losses. To update a stat I looked up recently, we've STILL only led for about 76 mins of those 900 mins of normal time at Ewood. And people wonder why the atmosphere is bad at Ewood and why attendances are now dropping like a stone! 20 goals in 20 games overall. We've only scored twice in four out of those twenty games. Dire doesn't really do it justice. -

Indeed. He’s the opposite of what Danny Batth used to give us. Real authority and presence at the back. Little wonder Hull used to shunt him to left back or not in the team at all. -

Just looking ahead to the fixtures for the reast of the season, those final 9 games make for very bleak viewing. Millwall away Boro at home Brum away WBA at home Stoke away Coventry at home Sheff United away Southampton away Leicester at home The fact that they've not managed to beat any of the teams around them has me thinking it's inevitable that they go down this season. -

You are correct in that. But we are all a demoralised and exhausted fanbase and, to be blunt with you, you have stated with absolute certainty venkys will leave if certain individuals go. Armed with some intel that many of us clearly arent, then, what might be done by any/all of us to achieve ousting those individuals? I have no idea, as a reasonably informed individual, how to do that. And talk of organised protests goes round and round on here without unanimity whilst I am unconvinced they would achieve that particular initial key outcome. Evidence of the "certainty" of that outcome leading to venkys going would be a huge game changer for many. Do you have it, or were you describing a personal belief, rather than absolute certainty? I realise electronic discussions can be interpreted differently and I dont want the above to come across as confrontational - it isnt intended that way. I think wording is very important and your original post gave me hope. Subsequent ones, less so. -

The "direction of travel" was to get someone in who willingly will accept cheap crap from poor foreign leagues, selected by a novice, to replace key players purely to get the wage bill down. Whatever happened to just appointing the best manager available and recruiting based on what he wants. Wagner seemed to be just a rumour. Whoever we appointed was probably doomed to failure although he cant have done much worse than Ismael. -

Agree with previous post from Kidder. Last season when the fans targeted the 3 execs it caused a bit of a stir and forced them into that woeful interview. However as always with Rovers fans, as soon as the club string a few positive results together the pressure dies off. I could understand it to a certain degree with last season because there were still faint hopes of a playoff place, but this time round there really is no excuse to not be putting sustained pressure on Suhail and Gestede. -

Pasha is Venky's advisor. Target him and make it uncomfortable at matches. Pasha has been a constant figure since the owners took over. Has started to be targeted heavily in the last 12 months or so. I'm just going to be completely blunt with you. It's not down to just 1 supporter group to do something about it. -

JDT will have looked at Mowbray's tenure and thought if I can have that time and manage to get some of that backing I can achieve something. The club seemingly agreed to his "project" at the beginning, so whilst I wouldn't have trusted the club to deliver, I can understand why he thought he might be able to do something here. Eustace knew what he was walking into and had an escape plan. Much like Lambert, he made sure he had a way to get out if all wasn't as it seemed. I think he believed the squad was good enough for him to do a decent job, and if things looked like they were heading south he could jump before the ship sank. There were risks involved, especially if he couldn't get the team into a decent position, but he did a good job and therefore had the interest needed from elsewhere to get away in time. Ismael also knew what he was walking into, but likely didn't have the leverage to negotiate a release clause. Maybe he does have one, but I'd be surprised. He's only comparable with Eustace in the sense they both knew what they were getting into. I agree that their situations are completely different otherwise. -
