  1. Past hour
  2. Probably about the same time it takes a club to agree a fee for Callum Brittain, who only has 12 months left on his contract and is currently at a cash strapped Rovers, in fairness.
  3. I do wonder if Kortrijk are part of some weird shit owners pact with us, maybe there's just a WhatsApp group and they tell us players we can have. They're owned by Vincent Tan who's obviously a cunt, managed to relegate not 1 but 2 teams he owns in a year with Cardiff going down too. He's pretty despised in Belgium from what I gather, predominantly because he is never around, presume he has a Pasha type 'running things' for them......
  4. Jackson in LT saying McLaughin in Turkey at Hull training camp but would be allowed to leave IF fee agreed with Hull - how long does it take to agree a fee for a club in Hull's position with only 12 months remaining on the lad's contract!?!? Also, stated Carter missing from Wednesday's training video indicating injury could be worse than first feared. So our c/b's are Hyam and Wharton (who can't be anywhere near ready for 90 minutes in the Championship) with only rookies in reserve.
  5. He did under a different manager last season. It’s a new manager with a new way of playing. The new manager might not have seen him as integral.
  6. But he turned out to be far more important than that. Its like saying that Szmodics wasnt expected to score 27 so no big deal to lose him. You replace what you actually had, not what you expected to have. But again, its not even about who we are replacing. Its about what we have, potentially 4 centre backs but 2 with huhe reliability question marks.
  7. Ta, bit of poetic licence going on somewhere.
  8. I sent this email to the club the other day. so far, no response. I hope they reach out to me, I will gladly post, β€œyes, our club cares about its fans” if they do…
  9. Credit to you for bringing some recent examples.
  10. He was said to be seen as a squad player this season so it makes perfect sense.
  11. Relegated from the first to the second division.
  12. So were De Neve's team relegated from the 2nd division, or to the second division ? I keep reading they were a relegated 2nd division team, can't make head nor tail of them tables.
  13. @Tyrone Shoelaces I’ve done some further digging. The following is from the European Commison’s β€˜ Practical Handbook For Border Guards’:
  14. Half those players u mentioned were when we could take a chance on unproven players. N'zonzi I'm sure wasn't brought in as a first team player straight away. Nelsen was a good backup option who turned out better than we thought. Nowadays we can't take chances on unproven players the same way as we don't have the resources to implement them with better players
  15. They were extensively scouted by a tried and trusted scouting team with Premier League experience and knowledge. Their cost was not the reason they were bought but their potential ability. The current incomings appear to be scouted based on what we can spend and what their FootballManager ratings are by a scouting team that hasn’t remained intact for longer than 6 months since Covid.
  16. Makes no sense. Implies that Batth was just an added bonus rather than integral.
  17. Today
  18. Did they specifically say "regardless of whether Batth stays?" Either way, its beside the point. My opinion is that a full season with 4 when 2 are Carter and Wharton is a huge, huge risk.
  19. Or equally, Leo Wahlstedt, Semir Telalovic, Herold Goulon, Amine Linganzi, Sasha Petshi and Fode Koita.
  20. That was a hypothetical situation that youve taken out of context. Because he is a greedy big headed agent driven dickhead who the club simply could have done nothing more to keep. That seems to be the sentence you are looking for.
  21. Overlooking the player's qualities and how they fit into Ismael's style and fits the profile of player he wants everytime obsessing over which club they joined from. I take it you had similar opinions last summer when we signed Ohashi from Japanese football or Nzonzi from Ligue 2 club who got relegated that season or Samba from Hertha Berlin B team or signing Nelsen from MLS from your above comments
  22. They didn’t, they said regardless of whether Batth stayed or went they wouldn’t replace him. They said they were only interested in a LCB.
  23. Why would we want Brittain to stay then, and why does Ismael want him to stay? If he genuinely would be totally satisfied with just Alebiousu and Montgomery, then surely Brittain is unnecessary clutter? As mentioned, it is funny how the players that exactly suit "the way Ismael wants to play" (you should get that on a t shirt) play for teams relegated for lesser leagues. Dont be naive, of course finances play a part. He hasnt even said that we wont sign a right back as and when Brittain leaves. You are just pre preparing your excuses. We dont know how Alebiosu would cope playing week in week out for the first time and at a higher level than he has played before. For our only cover to be a young midfielder who has only ever started one league game in which he got sent off, would be a crazy risk IMO driven purely by cost cutting. You even said yourself that you want an experienced replacment when Brittain goes.
