  1. Past hour
  2. Did we put Hedges on him after 25 mins or shift Yuki to the left to keep him occupied? Beginning of the match he was playing like Messi and was behind a lot of Boros attacking play. Then effectively disappeared…
  3. I see Nottingham Forest have made a very swift decision to rename a stand after a club legend. Meanwhile our lot…
  4. Simply no comparison, Tronstad is a far better player than Travis. I liked Lewis as a committed player and someone who came through the ranks but he was extremely limited as a player.
  5. He looks handy. The new Jason Roberts ?
  6. Do you actually read the threads? For Sheff Wednesday you cant.
  7. Well as a defender in a back 4 he kept a clean sheet. But no, he didn’t run riot down the wing and bend one in from 20 yards.
  8. Wonder if this guy has been considered for us ? Top scorer in Sweden, plays for the same side Henriksson played for, so could have given a bit of inside info on him. Celtic been linked recently but nothing concrete.
  9. I completely agree. 100% But I can acknowledge this isn’t true:- “I absolutely think he has cost us points vs having Toth in goal. The sudden change in goals conceded when Toth got injured tells the story.”
  10. We got shut of Ennis and Telavic and Sam half a leg Gallagher so there is hope in shifting Gueye. Depends on the agents and how much of a hit you might be willing to take.
  11. Sky Sports were the only media outlet who even mentioned BTA. Why are you obsessing about it? I never even mentioned him in the first place. I was talking about Bamford. None of us know for certain whether BTA or Bamford were anyone's first choice, and it doesnt really matter. Neither ended up here.
  12. Read that post again.
  13. The law needs changing so the referee giving a yellow doesn’t mean retrospective action can’t be taken. This wouldn’t change the fact we didn’t get the man advantage but it would at least mean the player is punished.
  14. I said after the Preston game, I'll bet Montgomery is thinking why does that ball keep going to Tronstad? He's very similar to Cantwell in that he nicks the ball a lot , it's a quality not many at this level have, they know what the other player is going to do before he's done it.
  15. Its one thing shifting someone who is absolute crap like Gueye. Someone might have a shocker from a recruitment perspective and sign an absolutely terrible striker. Clubs do, we did. Its another shifting someone like Carter who cannot stay fit for a week of training without breaking down. His history and presumably his medical would flag the fact that his ability is an irrelevance because he cannot sustain his body to play professional football. And I am not advocating keeping players and then not registering them. I think we have a number who we actively should be trying to get shut of ASAP. What I am saying is we should say to them early, you dont have a future here. I think we need more than 3 or 4 as I have previously mentioned. That being said, I am not convinced that we will get that many, and assuming we do, I certainly have no reason to think that they will either have the required quality or be signed really early in the window (we have heard what Ismael has said so many times) which we desperately need, as proven by how weak our squad is currently looking. Im guessing that you trust Gestede and also think we will get some quality in at the start of the window.
  16. For the avoidance of doubt about the standard of refereeing at today's game, I remind you of another 'red card' incident involviing Rovers and Boro.. https://www.skysports.com/football/video/33746/12776496/i-honestly-cant-explain-john-buckley-is-sent-off-with-red-card The tackle by Hackney in today's game can't really be excused as 'late' or clumsy, it is simply and clearly violent conduct. See 1.38 in this - it is unbelievable. The officials shouldn't be involved at this level if they can't apply the laws of the game in such an obvious and basic way. Rovers looked like a team. But Ohasi, oh my word!
  17. I dont rate "holding midfielders" who havent an all round game in general. Travis for example is a far better player imo and coincidentally he's the one that has thus far earned a big (ish) money money. For me Tronstad just nips in and makes a few nice tackles or interceptions per game and is completely anonymous the rest of the time. Is risk averse and never makes anything happen. I know people dont agree so that's fine. I don't mind.
  18. Today
  19. Jackson said in his podcast that BTA was his first choice, Also Sky Sports said we bid for him. We never put a bid for for Bamford or McBurnie
  20. Rovers have made a bid for "a player". That narrows it down a bit!
  21. Rev, what are you expecting a player in Tronstadt’s role to do that he doesn’t in order for you to think he’s ‘good’?
  22. Someone would. Who would take Gueye? but someone will. ok So if you aren't going to register then what the point of them staying here and paying them? what a waste of money. We will sign 3 or 4 and 3 or 4 will leave either permanently or on loan Its your listed of unwanted crap.
  23. Great result, just a shame other teams below / around Rovers picked up good results as well. Need to follow this up with a win on Monday though. Injuries are piling up!

  25. Sonny is one of the best at what he does in the championship. He hasn't got the speed or technical ability for the prem, but he's certainly one of the in the championship.
  26. I thought we were excellent today. Yes, we lack a lot of quality but the workrate, pressing, and desire to win the ball was brilliant. Really nullified Boro, particularly in the second half. Over the course of the 90 mins, we were the better team. Cantwell and Sonny are the two key players for us. We are so much better with them two on the pitch. I said a couple of weeks ago VI needs to stop bringing on De Neve and Gueye as subs as it's costing us points. Thankfully he has and it's made the world of difference.Gueye is done at this club. His performances and worth ethic have been way below par this season. De Neve will likely stay for the season and go in the summer. Tavares being out for 8 weeks also does us a favour. He'll probably be sold in the summer too.
  27. I freely acknowledge that Im in the minority on here about Tronstad so I dont know why it excites people so much. No-one continually digs out people who said Raya was crap or Dolan would never get a Club at our level. Didn't think Tronstad played that well today either. Was Ok. Not brilliant, not terrible. Same as always. Im content enough in the knowledge that my opinion seems to be shared by all Premier League and top Championship Clubs. If that situation changes I'll re-assess.
