  1. Past hour
  2. I expect V's finance people will say ok we'll send half the 4.9 because we still have to bond some of it so you will have to find the rest. I predicted a Tom Cairney style cut price emergency sale this summer and i still reckon it'll happen, anyone who can stump up an instant up front 1.5/2m can take their pick. Highest earners only though.
  3. As I understand it we're at the inconvenience stage, and have been for 2 years - it's become an impediment for the Venkys because of the money that would sit in a Government account awaiting the resolution of this trial. They clearly know they have a very, very good chance of losing this case and that money, which is why they're so reluctant to pay it. Which again begs the question, why not just sell Rovers if you're so reluctant to fund them? It's one less overseas liability you have to worry about - and one that absolutely detests you to boot.
  4. They always avert disaster it's the one thing they seem good at so i expect that bloke from Bolton will be getting another call for one of his high interest short term special offer jobbies.
  5. Plus we should still have a good chunk of the transfer fees referred to in the post balance sheet events to receive too. I wonder how close we are to borrowing against these future guaranteed incomings?
  6. Well yes but if he was being offered a significant rise then he wouldn't have done that unless he has a cast iron big offer from somewhere else. 3.5k to 7k for arguments sake is a hell of a lot of money over 2 years for anyone let alone a young player who'll be nowhere near millionaire status yet. So in my mind he just wouldn't turn that down he'd sign but have it negotiated in a buy out clause or something or other. So i think he was either lowballed or offered the same but with a rolling extra year option or - a long shot - he was on enough to not bother when he was only offered a modest rise. As you say 'who knows' but the pointers aren't particularly good on the clubs side knowing what we know and i don't think for one min they took a kid from £325 pwk onto a ten grand a week contract knowing the way they do things here. And i'm not saying that's wrong i believe kids should have to prove consistency and improvement to jump up the pay grade but once they've shown it and future potential sales income they should be tied down accordingly. I mean they threw a 5 year contract at Buckley after a few decent games and the difference between him and Dolan has always been night and day.
  7. From their point of view in terms of clinging onto the club the best thing they ever did was ditch Barclays and move the banking to India. From our point of view that probably wasn't a good thing.
  8. Few social media vids, a’ wear your old shirts for our 150th game with pride’, some fruit of the loom-esque tat in the shop… and that’ll be about it.
  9. Broughton tried to get him to re-up from that improved offer (whatever it was), but he turned us down. By the sounds of it he hasn't really been interested in renegotiating since then. Who knows how much money he's left on the table in the short term by taking this approach - certainly several thousand pounds a week for two years.
  10. No one, because anyone with any reasonable value only has 12 months left on their deal. Hyam, Brittain, Trav and Tronstad collectively might bring in the required though.
  11. Another summer of cutbacks No investment into the squad More sales of key players I cannot put into words how much I detest these owners.
  12. So how do you make the inference he's annoying without watching him? I never said you're not entitled to an opinion. I simply exercised my own.
  13. So......who have we got worth £4.85m?
  14. And from the horse’s mouth: https://enforcementdirectorate.gov.in/sites/default/files/latestnews/PR MBZO2- FEMA Seizure-4.09.2023.pdf https://enforcementdirectorate.gov.in/sites/default/files/latestnews/Press Release -VHPL-09.10.2023.pdf
  15. Today
  16. Might be the case that being merely being under investigation is ok, but if they're actually found guilty of anything implying any form of dishonesty the EFL might take another look. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Rightly so.
  17. Innocently mis representing the purposes of the Company seems somewhat too trivial to warrant a major investigation imo. It's clear the current Indian regime don't like money leaving the Country full stop. So maybe they're trying to make out that the omission was deliberate to allow funds to be funneled out overseas? Doesn't the investigation on the information so far to hand centre around the allegedly improper purchase of Neville's old house and shares in Akon's Company using VOL money? I'd have thought it would be pretty easy to argue they needed a suitable Base in this Country re: the house. Not so much the shares.
  18. Whether something is illegal is determined by the courts, not the press - but even if things do go against the Raos here I can't see it being anywhere near enough to enable the EFL to act. There is at least one Premier League club with owners who practise torture in their own country.
  19. I think to the owners it's a matter of principle - they are ,to put it mildly, extremely unwilling to provide funding if they have to put up the guarantee as well.
  20. At Reading there was non payment of taxes and wages . For the authorities to be trying to enforce a sale of a club requires there to be very serious infractions - not dissatisfaction from supporters. I don't think that a court case and an article in the Indian Press, suggesting illegal remittances , can really be described as dissatisfaction from supporters to be honest. 21. And the departure of Waggot ! I expect his role to now be shared out between the shadow ruler, his lacky and whomever else in order to save money. Expect more costly cock ups it's inevitable.
  22. Correct and was never an issue 👍
  23. Yeah. I am sure some will be pro and some will be anti ED. Amazing that we are hear as Rovers fans, discussing Indian court cases. Never the Twain.
  24. Seems that way. But so far they've been over-ruled twice. Might be a different story if we got an unsympathetic judge at some point though.
  25. The cash shortfall probably partly explains the decision to shut the women's section The sales of Dolan and Brittain should just about cover the funding gap Either way it's clear there's little or no money to spend on players this summer In other words, nothing has changed
  26. Sounds like the ED are gunning for them and do not want them really sending anything. That's just my opinion though.
