Really great points made on the podcast. I am particularly pleased that it has been recognised how much the coalition care. No need to get your tiny violins out for me but I will give you a bit of background. I currently work a minimum 45hour week. Every spare second at the moment I am giving up my time to try my hardest for the Football Club I love. No funds, just a handful of pasdsonate fans.I knew it would be impossible to get universal approval and knew by standing up, I would get shot at. Those against the boycott all have their own opinions and that is fine. Debate and discussion is fine, but some of the rhetoric myself and other coalition members have faced is not on. I cannot tolerate being called a liar, accused of putting the future of the club in jeopardy and alike.Not on this forum BTW. I accept many people have drawn their lines in the sand and your either with us or against us. That is not a coalition message so the weaponistion of the boycott is from individuals, not from us. We are ofcourse trying to explain our rationale, and appeal for supporters to join us in boycotting. It is also important not to forget the open letter. In it, we asked Pasha to ensure the Raos read it and responded. They have, as always ignore us, as Rory said in the pod, they have boycotted the club long before we have. It can be argued that the club brought this on themselves by not even acknowledging us. We do this because we want owners that care and want the club we fell in love with back. I am thick skinned. I will be fine. But those people who hide behind an Avatar please remember why we are doing it, wether you agree with it or not. And ask yourself, what have you done in your limited own time to try and improve this dying club? As raised in the pod, we all have 1 common goal, a love of Rovers. Lets not forget that.

What Val would have liked and what the board will provide in relation to players / timescales / budgets are likely to be way off we all knew his request for 3 before hull was never going to happen

That was Kargbo’s selling point and can’t say that has worked out yet. The club need to be looking for another Andi Weimann type to get us to the end of the season. Experienced championship goalscorer and not keep gambling on Belgian & mid table Scottish clubs surplus players. If Gueye goes, I’d argue we need two strikers in, not one. Can’t be relying on Henriksson to fill in that strikers role.

Ah yes, I remember about Gueye now. Shows how pointless the point system is when someone like Gueye automatically qualifies but a better player, like Toth for example, doesn't. I'd imagine they'll get that Toth paperwork sorted..right after the window closes.

I think we should have 1 spot with Toth being converted. Gueye never had a slot. Its hard to sign a reasonable striker for a cheap fee and cheap wages. But if we put too much focus on Championship experience in the most expensive position then we will only be able to get unwanted crap. Players like Lyndon Dykes, Frey at QPR, and even then their wages might be too much. We are short of Championship experience but up front its goals and pace we need more.

Gueye didn't take an ESC slot anyway. One available providing they convert Toth is my understanding.

Whilst I agree that's the likely profile we get with our budget, what market do you think we should be looking at, with our obvious budgetary constraints? I'm not sure if we even have an ESC slot free anymore (until Gueye moves), can't remember. But I'm sure Kent and Wilsden can.

Mowbray got 5 years of running the place on a relatively big budget and was left in place without pressure despite numerous long winless runs. JDT wanted out and offered to go, even publicly took the piss out of the Chief Executive, and was left in place to derail the season as he didn't want to be here and forced his way out. That nearly relegated us and he only went after turning on Venkys and their stooge. Eustace wanted out and was in talks with other clubs yet they were happy for him to cart on in the dugout. Seemingly he had threatened to walk in the summer before they caved in to his demands. So to have Val here, playing along with the 'project', not kicking off, 3 years on his contract, even giving up his free time to hold Q and A sessions at £35 a pop, yeah he's as safe as you could ever imagine, as long as he's happy to go along with the ride. Football results? League position? Performances? Why would anyone take an interest in those things? The owners and board haven't done for many years.

Did he make any claims about the potential timing and quantity of any signings? Was he asked why we havent signed the players we "expected to" before Hull?

agreed, it sounds like a genuine cut price alternative, or a wonderfully well pitched bit of nonsense, to stir up the forum. It sounds very Rovers

Youan would also make sense as a cut-price alternative to Reyes Cleary, similar profile of versatile forward with some pace, though perhaps more record as a striker.

We do have a track record of returning to targets we were linked with in the past, not sure if that makes our scouting team persistent or uminaginative?

I think @MarkBRFC's suggestion that we'll sign Mullin is looking more and more likely. They'll just wait a little longer to avoid maximum backlash.
