bubblerrovers Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Starting to get a little worried, this short list appears very short on actually quality, Will keep the faith tho

b12_simon Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 You mean the crazy season hasn't started yet Cor it's some warm up then. Tis isn't it? Nicko's right though. While we're going ballistic it's comparatively quiet on the (global) transfer front and will remain so until the Euros are over.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 when i go out to socialise with my friends we tend to talk about things, and at the weekend we were talking what we would do if Big Sam took over at Rovers and we all had the same reaction. I think you are you are jealous because you are a very lonley sad old man!!!! Aye, they only let him out of the home once a year! Bloody hell gaz (single z). Your Saturday nights out must be a bundle of fun. Talk of mass suicides if Allardyce is appointed etc.
LeftWinger Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Allardyce isn't my first choice - but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we got him His record at Bolton was exceptional - and like it or not - we're a similar size of club (attendance, income etc). My first choice is Ten Cate - but Allardyce will not be a "disaster" or "drive rovers into the dust" Far from it.
Mozzer Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 flospy how is paul ince better then allardyce or mclaren?? ince may have the potential to be a good manager but no way has he done anything in the game to be considered better then mclaren or allardyce.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I know a long shot but any info regarding what Hoddle is up to these days? Has his name appeared at all or is he a def no no regarding the Rovers job?
dellinsert Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Ten Cate's odds are falling right out on Betfair, not sure if that means anything or not.
BlueMonday Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB IS AT STAKE HERE. If boycotting Ewood under an Allardyce-reign is the most effective course of action (which it is), then that's damned sure what my mates and I will be doing. Refusing to do your homework ?
Mozzer Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Allardyce isn't my first choice - but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we got him His record at Bolton was exceptional - and like it or not - we're a similar size of club (attendance, income etc). gazsimm Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Grow up! JW and the board are going to appoint the man who they think is best for the club out of all the people they can pick from (which does NOT include Bilic no matter how many times people say he'd be good for us - he clearly isn't interested!). So start supporting the club! I bet you thought Douglas was crap when Souness kept picking him - did you stop attending games and withdraw your support from the other ten players? I'm sure you don't rate Mokoena so highly either but you implied that you attended matches regularly last season thus not withdrawing your support as a result of thinking one guy isn't right for the club. Besides the new manager, which may well be BFS, there will be eleven rovers players starting every game and another seven hoping they can make an impact so please don't act like a spoilt brat and show them all your support. And IF we find ourselves enjoying another good start to the season maybe you can eat your words and start supporting the manager too, whoever it is. u must be easliy pleased, i will still support the club no doubt about it, but i am not wasting my money to watch utter crap boring football, which BFS will bring to Rovers. A lot of bolton fans i know say the football and enjoyment of watching football at the Reebok has inproved an awfull lot since BFS has left the club and that is under Megsan FFS
Mr Maureen Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 The board will only PROBABLY talk to others after Allardyce?!?!? I am officially crapping myself - This is LUDICROUS. Sam F'ing Allardyce is going to be our next manager and we're expected just to stand here and take it like IDIOTS. I can't take this. You mention four or five other candidates were "seriously in the picture" when Hughes was hired Nicko - Were they actually interviewed? Whats happening has he got the Job ? If he has then knock 4,000 off last seasons season ticket sales and 5,000 off the home gates. I laughed my tits off when Sammy Lee became Boltons manager,I laughed even harder when Megson replaced him. What goes around etc.I ain't laughing now.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Good grief! Stupidest post of the year award already lined up for you Flopsy. Who the flerk wants to appoint somebody that will see us struggle all season? It may heppen but lets not beg for it. A struggling team will see the best of the squad looking to leave! Thank God you aren't involved in the selection process. Perhaps Flopsy meant it will be a struggle if a load of star players leave. As may happen. I think any manager would struggle in those circumstances albeit the remainder of the squad should be good enough to finish above the likes of Stoke, Hull and WBA etc.
Flopsy Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 a bit of both Rev, I think that losing Hughes means that who ever takes over will struggle at the start with an unhappy(ish) squad. Also Theno, I take it back, I think of most of your comments as less stupid than those who wanted the dream team of Shearer and Newell
thenodrog Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I really have to agree with you and say virtually ANYONE but him. Even McClaren I'd at least think got his team to play good football, ist. Im leaning towards McClaren more than Big Sam now... I am absolutely flabbergasted! You two are just plain stupid. Allardyce is 10 times the motivator and manager that Wally is! The rest of English football would take the p1ss for ever if we ended up with Maclaren! Hopefully people won't mind if I do this, I have done mine. SAY NO TO BIG SAM Campaign Anyone who wishes for Big Sam NOT to be the next Blackburn manager, please send an envelope to. John Williams SAY NO TO BIG SAM Blackburn Rovers FC Ewood Park Blackburn Lancashire BB2 4JF They will get the hint eventually. Even if it doesn't help, atleast I tried And you Ewoodglory bloody well deserve Maclaren!
Ozz Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 My only concern over Ted Carter is how will he balance his busy angling store commitments with running T'Rovers?
gazsimm Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Aye, they only let him out of the home once a year! Bloody hell gaz (single z). Your Saturday nights out must be a bundle of fun. Talk of mass suicides if Allardyce is appointed etc. we have lots of fun shame i am married now and there are not enough of them lol i would not go that far if BFS was appointed he would not be worth it
gbax Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I know a long shot but any info regarding what Hoddle is up to these days? Has his name appeared at all or is he a def no no regarding the Rovers job? From an previous post. He was on TalSport a few weeks back. He's running ataining school in spain training lads released from clubs at 16, to try and get them back into the game.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 flospy how is paul ince better then allardyce or mclaren?? ince may have the potential to be a good manager but no way has he done anything in the game to be considered better then mclaren or allardyce. You can only do what is put in front of you and what he has done so far has been exceptional. I think reckon if you have shown you can manage lower down the Leagues you should certainly be able to do it in the Prem IF you have the players attention. Ince has that advantage with his playing background. Has won more stuff than our lot have had hot dinners. Starting to look very much like a winner as a manager as well.
socngill Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I know a long shot but any info regarding what Hoddle is up to these days? Has his name appeared at all or is he a def no no regarding the Rovers job? No, no and no. N way would I want this excuse for a man anywhere near our club. not after his comments about disabled people.
gazsimm Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 thenodrog why do you have to insult everybody on here, u are a really big guy arn't u locked away in your darken lonley house. Every body has a right to have their say so leave them alone FFS
Eddie Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Let's be kind to both managers and forget Allardyce was at Newcastle and that McClaren took the England job; under those conditions who would I rather have? Allardyce positives: -signings -gets team organised -gets points negatives: -hugely full of himself -possibly corrupt -horrible style of football mcclaren: -gets team to play good football -won something -performed in europe -probably got that boro team to overachieve negatives -annoying to look at and listen to (same as allardyce) -not as experienced in management -had a larger budget at Boro than Allardyce did at Bolton. Now...I still go for McClaren under those conditions. We also have to say that Allardyce went to another Premiership club and failed...McClaren went to the international scene and failed. Allardyce may be a one tricky pony (most probably is), McClaren may just not be suited to international management.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I am absolutely flabbergasted! You two are just plain stupid. Allardyce is 10 times the motivator and manager that Wally is! The rest of English football would take the p1ss for ever if we ended up with Maclaren! And you Ewoodglory bloody well deserve Maclaren! Calm down dear! Have you taken your medication this afternoon? (You're right though!)
yoda Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 From an previous post. He was on TalSport a few weeks back. He's running ataining school in spain training lads released from clubs at 16, to try and get them back into the game. "ataining school" is that a cross between a tanning studio and a training school? well it is Spain
gbax Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 u must be easliy pleased, i will still support the club no doubt about it, but i am not wasting my money to watch utter crap boring football, which BFS will bring to Rovers. A lot of bolton fans i know say the football and enjoyment of watching football at the Reebok has inproved an awfull lot since BFS has left the club and that is under Megsan FFS They must have been Nonlot fans who don't go to Breezeblock, 'coz I know for a fact they would have carried him back themselves to have BFS back instead of Megson come the end of the season regardless that they stayed up! Emotions are high at the moment, but can you really say that if BFS is manager next season you will stop going on Ewood? If yes, I feel for you! Several posters on here might end up eating humble pie for their comments on here. Time will tell...
