AggyBlue Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Robbie is just training with you lot right? Or have I missed something, and he has actually signed? No harm in looking I suppose. Could be a good impact player if you were chasing a game. Fitness is an issue, but I'm sure your coaching staff will assess him on this. Looks well when it takes a Villa fan to post the most sensible post of the day. One and half hours to get up to date on this bl00dy thread. It was like trawling through posts written by wailing schoolgirls, some posters can never be taken seriously again Jeeeezus get a grip

Dunnfc Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Two clubs today have made bids for Scott Carson apparently, both are from the premiership. Us and West Brom i think.
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 There will be enough money spent and exciting younger players coming in. I'd say. We have people comforting themselves with saying that we maybe getting rid of Brad due to the fact that he has only a couple of seasons left. Then we may buy Fowler............ ?
tcj_jones Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Carson is a quality keeper but extremely expensive. Apparently Liverpool wanted upwards of £10m, which we cannot afford.
S15 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Carson is a quality keeper but extremely expensive. Apparently Liverpool wanted upwards of £10m, which we cannot afford. But that was to sell him to Aston Villa and more specifically Martin O'Neill, who everyone, other than Villa fans, think is a little bit of a queer knob.
Hughesy Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Until I see some proper transfer activity - both ins and outs then im not worrying too much. Until then, give Ince a chance.
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Robbie Fowler at Liverpools Xmas bash 2006. Is that Savage behind him? Was he visiting someone he knew?
Rover9 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Is that Savage behind him? Was he visiting someone he knew? HaHaHa
Pugg Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Until I see some proper transfer activity - both ins and outs then im not worrying too much. Until then, give Ince a chance. What with you and the Villa fan we are in danger of stopping the mass hysteria! You need to take a serious look at yourself! Can't you see that Ince has already proved how crap he is and we are doomed.
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Blackburn manager Ince wants Pennant to fill Bentley role at Rovers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ole-Rovers.html This is crap right? For the ineptitude of writing and printing that in a paper..... words fail... If it even has a minuscule piece of truth to it, that is bad enough.
tcj_jones Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Pennant might be a prize dick, but he's a quality player.
John Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I think Bentley will join Spurs once we have a replacement signed up...
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Pennant might be a prize dick, but he's a quality player. The cost though? Isn't he English? That brings the price up automatically 33% Ince not going to be given much money will not help matters. I will loose consciousness if I read he will be given over 9 million.
Gav Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Pennant might be a prize dick, but he's a quality player. No he's not a quality player, how do you come to that conclusion? he's hardly played for 2yrs because he spends his time on the pop and counting his money. We should have signed him when he left big club, to go after him now would be another Ince mistake.
Exiled in Toronto Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Looks well when it takes a Villa fan to post the most sensible post of the day. One and half hours to get up to date on this bl00dy thread. It was like trawling through posts written by wailing schoolgirls, some posters can never be taken seriously again Jeeeezus get a grip Ditto. I go away for one night then have to waste half the day trolling through endless ludicrous 'posts' to get to the news, which isn't news anyway as it hasn't happened yet. It's not as if we have never taken a punt on a seemingly over the hill guy or transferred a first-teamer. Thank goodness we didn't have this site when we sold Keith Newton, which was the most gut-wrenching moment of my Rovers life, or the internet itself would have imploded.
ffan Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 For those of you wanting Niemi you can have him. He can't command his area and he has never been the same since the incident against Watford. In fact you can have him in exchange for Friedel.
Cocker Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 No he's not a quality player, how do you come to that conclusion? he's hardly played for 2yrs because he spends his time on the pop and counting his money. We should have signed him when he left big club, to go after him now would be another Ince mistake. Any time I have seen him play he is always waving at the strikers saying sorry that his cross never reached them. Like most are saying, nothing has happened yet but I am really starting to worry that some of these rumblings are true and our strong top half squad is going to be picked apart and what we will be left with is a load of players that cant get games for their current clubs because they arnt good enough. So, I will wait and see but my finger nails are down to the bone already
The1mattjansen Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Has anyone considered the fact that our latest signing contradicts the phrase 'nobody is worth more than the club'. I am told Robbie Fowler's assets stretch well into £40m.
S15 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 It sounds like you've gone through the skin. Not good... PM Dr Iccers. Whether pain relief or remedy, he can get you the 'kit' you need.
tcj_jones Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 You've contradicted yourself there, Gav. You say he isn't a quality player and then say we should have signed him before Liverpool got in. He's had a terrible time with injuries and was never going to be a starter at Liverpool. He's had to battle with Gerrard, when he was played on the right, and more recently the likes of Babbel and Benayoun, who have done well. Pennant has a cracking cross, pace and a good all round game. He was ace for Birmingham and ha always impresed me when I've seen him since. Why don't you rate him?
