Don't be so naive - United are trying to get the price down.

Exactly my thoughts.

Its simple - £16m or no deal, dodgy knee or not!

Why would we knock off the price just because he failed a medical? What happens is this will drag on, and leave us less time to invest. OR it gives us time to sign Hoilett. PJ is off no matter what.

BPF: Is there anything to be positive about ?? without being ironic?

Our current bank account.

The question is, will it be used and how?

Will Diouf join us as part of the deal?

We have enquired about O Shea as part of the deal. I know nothing more than that at present.

He will pass the medical, it will just be a glitch. Stewart Downing was injured when he passed at Villa, several other players have done the same.

Different type of injury though.

There should be no doubt in Junior's head that the right place to be next season is at Ewood Park. He will play regularly for a full season, and if he does well, walk straight into a better team in a year from now.

Yes, and then all the unrealistic on here will cry foul!

How could he possibly leave playing for Rovers every week and jump ship for that @#/? where he'll just be a bench warmer!

We have had a spell of about 5 years where we as a club played at being one of the top dogs, at the top of the food chain

The rest of our history has been to compete whilst also balancing the books by selling on our better players

It comes as no surprise to lose our better players, is disappointing but rather sell them to a rich club than a small club, at least it means we make a profit and the challenge should be to find the next big thing

How can a tiny injury be a problem? The lad is 19 years old, if he makes it at Old Trafford he could end up spending the next 15 years there, so how can a present injury make a difference?

Hmmm unsure on that one, I laughed at Sunderlands valuation of the three united players in another thread.

On the other hand as unspectacular as o Shea is at least the hole would be filled quickly. Problem being his reported £80k a week wages

great news, would happily avoid most of the free transfers upson, reo-coker.....over hyped, massively over paid and over the hill in most cases.

Don't speak too soon.

That is the most important question now!!! we NEED TO BUY QUALITY PLAYERS NOW!!!

No we dont....we need to be sensible with it & not panic...We have lost 1 young player, we need to take our time and secure the correct targets without being ripped off

If that's a hint at Reo Coker I'd be happy enough.

Even upson I put in a similar bracket as o Shea, unspectacular and overpaid but wouldn't be too bad alongside Samba if he couldn't agree a deal

Handing 15m+ to Kean for transfers is like handing a chainsaw to a toddler....it ain't going to end well!

Would have loved Hughesy to have had a decent amount of cash behind him!
