rebelmswar Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Ex-Liverpool keeper. Apparently Lowe wants him as a youth goalkeeping coach from their old times together. As a bonus he is a third choice goalkeeper who can cover for Robinson and Bunn. Bonus Hughsey, hand over your optimism crown, you have been surpassed. Wonder what agency he is represented by?

PAFELL Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 At the risk of causing a panic, the mortgage Rovers took out was due to expire on 30 June. As yet nothing has been filed at Companies House. Was the mortgage used and if so for what?
ElTwis Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does this mean? At the risk of causing a panic, the mortgage Rovers took out was due to expire on 30 June. As yet nothing has been filed at Companies House.
PAFELL Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Why is Lucas Neill in Blackburn Starbucks now?? er maybe having a coffee!!!!!!!!

Fife Rover Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 A few days ago, people were speculating that we aren't going to get any defenders, that we let Phil Jones go without a replacement and that Samba will leave for Arsenal or Tottenham soon. Now that we've gotten news that we might be getting Mongungu and Onuoha, the speculation shifts to we aren't going to get any strikers and will be relying on Benjani and Roberts up front. I think it's best to give the owners time - if they really are getting the two defenders, then let them finish that deal first. Then they can concentrate on finding suitable, affordable strikers. I mean, the owners have proven naysayers wrong with this defender thing, right? Who's to say they won't be getting strikers next? I don't know Black Burn!.......You are just too sensible and calm for this MB. You haven't been sent from Heaven to sort us all out have you?
Blue n White Rover Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I don't know Black Burn!.......You are just too sensible and calm for this MB. You haven't been sent from Heaven to sort us all out have you? Or that he's not seen the 'Venky's want to sell' thread. Either way, it is still very EARLY in the market. Patience is required.
bluebruce Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Is Hargreaves worth a punt after his fitness troubles, last time he was fit I rated him as one of England's better players, although that was around 2006. Wonder if he'd be prepared to consider a largely appearance based contract just yet or if he still thinks he can get fit regularly. Far more likely, he knows he couldn't get fit regularly, and therefore will never accept an appearance based contract.
Black Burn Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Bonus Hughsey, hand over your optimism crown, you have been surpassed. Wonder what agency he is represented by? My bad, I have screwed up my wording. By "bonus" I didn't mean anything positive. I mean it was supposedly an added plus that the guy can serve as a third choice goalkeeper in addition to the coaching duties. I didn't mean that it would be a good thing if he did. I'm just a college student. I don't work for Venkys or anyone - so please don't think I work for the Venkys undercover just because I seem to be defending them. Anyway, I'm having doubts whether Onuoha is coming - apparently Alan Nixon said nobody he asked knew about him, and Lee's prediction that he will be signed in 48 hours 72 hours ago have gone wrong. Not sure what to make of Preston's claim we bidded 6.3 million for him, though. I saw the thread, but even if Venkys did want to sell, I highly doubt anyone would want to buy Rovers from them.
Fife Rover Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Sorry who have we signed? I was just wondering the same thing. Having fully read the last 40 or so pages I am no nearer knowing who (if indeed anyone ) we have actually SIGNED. There is speculation and discussions aplenty and strong hints that it is a defender of some kind , but no-one has actually come out and said that any named player has actually signed yet.
modes98 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Phillip please keep mortgage discussions to financial topics. Transfer topic is too crowded for that kind of debate as well.
rog of the rovers Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 A mate of mine just seen £uca$h N€ill in Starbucks!

Plastic Head Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 A mate of mine just seen £uca$h N€ill in Starbucks! I said that!
rover23 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Lucas Neil's girlfriend/wife is from Blackburn and her family still live here. It is no surprise that he has been seen in Blackburn.. and he has been spotted here many times before. He isn't signing.

Yep, She's from Great Harwood actually & it would not be unusual for him to be spotted around the place
Black Burn Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Or from Pune? I'm staying in Japan at the moment, pretty far from any place in India, Pune or New Delhi. I daresay I'm closer to Bangkok than India. But my origins isn't the topic of the thread. Anyway, I heard from my friend on IM that Venkys might try to get a signing this week in order to please the fans. That might explain the sudden cash deal for Mongungu. But whether they succeed or not is another matter altogether. And where's Lee? He mentioned the Onuoha transfer being done in 48 hours 72 hours ago. And now Preston's come up saying we bidded 6.3 million for him? But Alan Nixon says none of his sources at Venky even heard of him? Wondering who to believe.

nicko Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Funnily enough, if Venkys wanted to stop all of the current chatter the best idea would be to sign a player...ANY player. The questions remain. What is the budget? What money do they intend to spend?
BangkokRover Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Sure you are certainly closer to BKK than India, if you are in Japan. Mongungu is not going to appease the fans
john.leigh Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 All this transfer speculation seems pointless at the minute. With the latest revelation from Kamy (a source I respect) I'm thinking there's no smoke without fire. Talk of signing anybody must surely take a back seat until this 'situation' is clarifed/resolved. There's absolutely no point us even starting to guess at names whilst there is such an air of uncertainty. Dazed & confused
Black Burn Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Sure you are certainly closer to BKK than India, if you are in Japan. Mongungu is not going to appease the fans Certainly not all the fans, but it will at least quash accusations that they aren't going to buy any new players, that they are going to pocket the 16.5 million from Jones's sales, that we are going to have the same relegation squad as we did at the end of last season minus Jones.

Should not be a reason for buying a player (to appease the fans) - should be buying a player because they can add quality to the squad.
