A cup of beans
25-year-old Piermario Morosini has died after collapsing during Pescara-Livorno due to a heart attack. He was on loan at Livorno, but owned by Udinese. Marosini has a tragic family history. Both his parents died young and his brother also died in an accident! Serie A suspended, of course. Stuart
25. No age? I know we think they are a bunch of overpaid primadonnas because of the antics of a few but are professional footballers pushed to hard?
Mercer
So very sad - football is totally irrelevant at times like this.

Backroom DE. Posted April 14, 2012 Backroom Share Posted April 14, 2012 Very sad. I imagine the Italians will be a lot more dignified about this than the media and most people here were with the Muamba situation. RIP.

Andy
I saw the game footage and the lad tried getting up twice, which shows what kind of fighter he was, considering his heart was literally failing. Such sad news and, certainly for me, puts a lot into perspective.

A cup of beans
I saw the game footage and the lad tried getting up twice, which shows what kind of fighter he was, considering his heart was literally failing. Such sad news and, certainly for me, puts a lot into perspective. I saw that too, Andy (having access to Italian TV and media). really upsetting scenes. morosinis family have appealed for this footage to be taken down, out of respect Italian sensibilities when it comes to showing these types of scenes are different to UK's. *see mussolini's death and his body being shown. Everyone will have their own views on the rights and wrongs. But its not done out of morbid fascination. It's cultural and the belief is that showing scenes such as this can be a benefit society in terms of understanding mortality and respecting life. Here's a moving article about Morosini. RoyRover
Very sad news indeed. What a tragic life he and his sister have faced. It was nice to hear that Udinese and Atlanta have pledged life long financial support to the player's disabled sister.
