[Archived] Pundits: Good or Bad?

Alan Green is a whiny voiced, moaning Irish nob. If a game is bad, he just goes on and on and on about how bad it is. You're getting paid loads to watch football you winker.

I once phoned the BBC to complain about some stuff he was coming out with about how few fans we had @ a game @ Trafford United when it was on Sky during the middle of an economic recession. I asked if I could have his fee to be paid to watch football games because I was sure I was [at least] as eloquent as he's supposed to be.

Apparently the way to upset him if you see him is to ask for his autograph and then say, "Sorry; I thought you were Eamonn O'Neal!"

I've not got Sky [won't subsidise Murdoch (Phonehackers) Inc.], so I've never heard Gary Neville, about whom I only hear good things - why would he give up that job and being part of Woy's back-up team to become a League Manager?

The best summariser on BBC Radio 5, imo, is Martin Keown, followed, not all that closely, by Danny Mills.

Think Neville might have not be looking to get involved in management, threw a shot across the bows of the men who run football (Agents) in the mail online today

I read the article too and it was difficult not to wonder whether Neville was making reference to our plight.

Gavin Peacock wasn't half-bad. Didn't he leave to become a monk or something?

For a foreign approach, I've always loved listening to Clarence Seedorf or Leonardo. Class acts, the pair of 'em.

Emanuel Adebayor on the beeb during 2010 world cup was hilarious :D I didn't understand a word of what he said, but it was better than a full season of Alan Hansen.

Think he's become a minister in Canada?

Guest Norbert

Knew someone would get it.

Seedorf, Dixon, Claridge and most of the radio 5 commentators get my vote. I always thought David Oates was good at the various sports he covered, and it was a loss when he died recently. I even don't mind Robbie Savage, though his 606 shows can be crap.

And between the two, I'd pick Final Score over Soccer Saturday every time. Even if Garth Crooks is on.

Oh and I remember something about Gavin Peacock. I think he always was a bible basher, as there was a story that he sat in the cargo bit on the team coach because they put a porno on the TV during an away trip.

Have to agree with those saying Gary Neville although I actually wasn't surprised.

I used to work for a company which Gary owned & have had a few chats with him in the past. Although a massive Utd fan, his general knowledge of things going on at other clubs is fantastic and he does talk sense. I know he's done his badges but have no idea if he plans to go into management but I also think he'd make an excellent manager.

He also loves taking the @#/? out of his brother which always made me laugh!
