Popular Post roversfan99 Posted January 8, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2025 So we need another player now on top of what we already needed. Baker was average but average is a lot better than what Buckley is. 26 Quote

Devon Rover Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 (edited) This shouldn't be as big a blow as it is, and feels, due to our context. But Travis' injury, Baker being a current first team regular, our already paper-thin squad options in midfield (and elsewhere), and our apparent inability/unwillingness to buy anyone, means this is a further sizable problem. Our midfield options now appear to be Sondre, Buckley and Garrett?!? We're going to get ripped apart in there. As if the window wasn't panning out predictably infuriatingly enough, already... BigHoz Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 No fear, we recalled garrett 😬 operation down the league we go. 1 Quote
StHelensRover Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Worried what this means if Buckley is now our starter. We have some big winnable matches coming up which will define our season. In his last few late cameos he has been awful... 1 Quote
Ghost7 Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 A risk you take when you also refuse to pay a loan fee. Quote
PotterLog Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 We can send you Moran by way of compensation if you like? Then we’re all back to square one Quote
superniko Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Suspect we see JRC start centre midfield rather than Buckley. I’d be amazed if the overlords can be arsed to bring someone in. They don’t care about the January window as we know 1 Quote

I.e. if you pay a fee they can't be recalled in Jan? Edit: I'd have thought it was more likely the appropriate portion of the loan fee would have to be reimbursed. Not particularly a Buckley fan either, but I don't think there's anything that Baker did when he played that Buckley ( or JRC can't ) 6 Quote
TheRevAshton Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Recent events have made it so that Baker being recalled is a bit of a disaster. They have to sign a replacement in the next few days. Things are actually stacking nicely to put pressure on the owners to invest; loss to the dingles, interest in Eustace, league position, Baker recalled... slight problem though, they don't give a shit! 3 Quote

I'd prefer Baker to Buckley in my team. 5 Quote

Pretty sure if you are paying a fee you are within rights to negotiate a no recall option to protect yourself. No fee and no one would ever agree to that. Which will be the structure of nearly all our loan ins. Quote

Agree with this, I thought Buckley was fucking appalling when he came on against the Dingles I guess he's going to get a lot more game time now though as no chance we sign a replacement, so he best pull his finger out 1 Quote
