  1. Blackburn Rovers returned to Sky Bet Championship football with a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Goals from Tammy Abraham and Tyrone Mings gave Villa a two goal lead. Rovers had to turn to Amari Bell to provide any hope as Blackburn pushed for an equalizer. The win continues a torrid spell for Rovers as their season draws to a close. Where as Villa will hope this win edges them closer to securing a playoff spot. In this video we hear from Dan Collins (@DCSparkyDC) get his verdict on the match. The gaffa also gives his opinion, plus match stats, feedback and more. Next up for Rovers will be a home match against Stoke City, whereas Aston Villa take on Steve Bruce's Sheffield Wednesday. 2. I can’t stand Wednesday. Deludedly β€œmassive” having done nothing for years, and lots of my friends are fans. I want my friends to be sad. Visitors should go down Kelham Island/Neepsend and get the tram up. The area is widely regarded as one of the best for β€œproper” alehouses in the country. The Fat Cat is my favourite. A bit closer to the ground (ten minute walk away) is The New Barrack Tavern. Love it here: good food - loads of beers and football focused. Full of friendly Wednesdayites pre-match so don’t be a dick. The Dinnerlady has shored their team up recently, but every unbeaten run must come to an end... With the confidence from last night I really think we can beat them. They really aren’t that good. Same team as Wigan? Commence arguing.
  3. Blackburn Rovers slipped to another away defeat at the hands of a revamped Sheffield Wednesday. The final score being a mouthwatering 4-2 win for the Owls. Plenty of action within the match which could have seen many more goals, Sheff Wed hit the post in the first half before taking the lead though Steve Fletcher. Rovers on the other hand relied on goals from Craig Conway and Elliott Bennett however it was not enough to get anything out of this entertaining defeat. A bit of break in the Championship comes at a good time for all, especially Rovers as we hope to see some defensive players return from injury in two weeks time. Another positive was the Rovers debut of youngster John Buckley, many more appearances in a Rovers shirt please Gaffa! Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood, Iorfa, Hector, Lees, Palmer, Reach, Hutchinson (Pelupessy, 9), Bannan, Aarons, Winnall (Matias, 55), Fletcher (Nuhiu, 58) Subs: Dawson, Fox, Thorniley, Boyd Rovers: Raya, Nyambe, Magloire, Williams, Bennett, Reed (Conway, 55), Evans (Buckley, 68), Travis, Rothwell, Dack, Graham (Armstrong, 68) Subs: Leutwiler, Smallwood, Brereton, Nuttall Webpage πŸ‘‰ http://blackburnroverseas.com Twitter πŸ‘‰ http://twitter.com/roverseas Facebook πŸ‘‰ http://facebook.com/blackburnroverseas Subscribe πŸ‘‰ http://youtube.com/blackburnroverseas Other Work πŸ‘‰ http://youtube.com/box500productions Also be sure to drop by Twitch as and when, I often broadcast Blackburn Rovers related gameplay as well as some Football Manager: Twitch πŸ‘‰ http://twitch.tv/roverseas Cass the Cat Championship Edition πŸ‘‰ http://goo.gl/n6Ubkw

    ROVERS V Wigan

Wigan haven't won away since August. Mercer will predict a comfortable home win. I'll give it a miss.
  5. Blackburn Rovers head back out on the road to take on in form Sheffield Wednesday. Rovers come into this match fresh off the back of a comfortable home win against Wigan Athletic. Steve Bruce's Sheffield Wednesday come into this match in fine form, most recently beating Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium. In this video I preview the match, take a look at what the fans have to say and we get a prediction from the Cat. 6. Blackburn Rovers returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win over relegation strugglers Wigan Athletic to end their winless streak. Rovers broke the deadlock midway through the first half via a Danny Graham penalty. Graham added to both his and Rovers tally thanks to some horrific Wigan Athletic defending. The third goal came via Bradley Dack and yet another disaster by the Wigan defense, one of the scrappiest goals you will ever see. Those goals saw Rovers over the line and 3 valuable points. The game also saw the debut of young defender Tyler Magliore who is proud to walk away with a clean sheet. Rovers: Raya, Nyambe, Magloire, Williams, Bell (Conway, 26), Reed, Travis, Bennett (c), Dack, Armstrong (Rothwell, 63), Graham (Nuttall, 63). 8. Blackburn Rovers bring the Sky Bet Championship back to Ewood Park in the hope of finding a first win in a long time. Their visitors will be last seasons rivals Wigan Athletic. Wigan Athletic come into the match fresh off the back of a last minute loss to strugglers Reading. Rovers come into this match in woeful form, with their last match a 0-1 loss to neighbours Preston North End. Blackburn have some concerns with defense, and Tony Mowbray could field a bizarre starting eleven. In this video I preview the match, take a look at what the fans have to say and we get a prediction from the Cat. 9. Blackburn Rovers terrible form continues as they lost against local rivals Preston North End after a scrappy 0-1. Johnson the only scorer on the day after breaching the Rovers defense in the 9th minute. Rovers pressed to find an equaliser however, all their efforts were in vein. This continues Rovers search for a win, and the result will leave Rovers rock bottom of the form table with games running out. Rovers: Raya, Reed (Nuttall, 62), Nyambe, Williams, Mulgrew (c) (Bell, 72), Bennett, Evans, Smallwood (Rothwell, 72), Armstrong, Dack, Graham. Unused substitutes: Leutwiler, Brereton, Travis, Conway. 10. Blackburn Rovers return to Sky Bet Championship action with a trip to Villa Park to take on Dean Smith's Aston Villa. Rovers head into the match on the back of a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. Whereas the hosts Aston Villa come into the match on the back of a 3-0 win over fellow playoff chasing Middlesbrough. Blackburn will hope to see some fresh faces return on Saturday with Mulgrew, Rodwell and Lenihan all on the fringes of a return. In this video I speak with Aston Villa fan Dan Collins about their season, their chances and much more. I also take a look at the form book, predict the line up and we see what Cass the Cat thinks will happen. 11. Rovers return to Championship action this weekend to take on local rivals Preston North End Blackburn come into this match in pretty terrible form, in fact we are rocked bottom of the form table. Our most recent result was a 3-2 loss away to Rotherham United. Preston North End on the other hand, come into this match as one of the form sides in the division. North End most recent match was a 1-1 draw with Bristol City. In this video I preview the match, look at the expected started lineups, get some feedback from North End supporter Jordan Davidson and his expectations for Saturdays game, all that and a prediction from the Cat. 12. *Tumbleweed* Day before a game without a thread, can tell the season is over eh? Probably around a thousand Rovers fans there again at a guess, 700 sold as of a couple of days ago. Usually like Rotherham away, but a bus journey between Manchester & Sheffield has put me off this time around. 2-0 Rovers, Graham & Dack to get the goals. Does anyone care?
  13. Blackburn Rovers lose on the road after a 5 goal thriller against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium. Rotherham United coming out 3-2 winners after takixng an early lead via Semi Ajayi header from a Will Vaulks long throw. The Millers held firm till half time, however Rovers started the 2nd half brighter and leveled the scores through Amari Bell's 2nd goal of the season. However as Rovers do, we could not keep the match level and Rotherham took the lead once again via Williams. As Rovers searched to get back into the match Semi Ajayi scored his 2nd goal of the day to put the match out of sight. Rovers did have some hope as Charlie Mulgrew scored from the penalty spot in the closing minutes, but it was too little too late. Massive points for Rotherham, whereas Rovers need to tighten up as we could see us sucked into a relegation vacuum. Rotherham United: Rodak, Mattock, Vaulks (c), Ajayi, Forde (Williams, 46), Taylor (Crooks, 79), Towell (Wiles, 53), Robertson, Ihiekwe, Smith, Jones. Unused substitutes: Price, Wood, Yates, Newell. Goal: Ajayi, 2, 83, Wiles, 57 Booked: Robertson, 30, Mattock, 50, Ihiekwe, 90. Rovers: Raya, Nyambe, Rodwell, Mulgrew (c), Bell, Travis, Smallwood (Rothwell, 46), Bennett (Reed, 90), Dack, Armstrong (Nuttall, 79), Graham. Unused substitutes: Leutwiler, Brereton, Evans, Conway. 14. Maybe a statician can dispute this but it feels like we concede goals in the last few minutes constantly.
  15. Blackburn Rovers are back on the road this weekend against Championship strugglers Rotherham United. Rovers come into this match in not the best form, having not won in 5 matches, but most recently they drew against Birmingham City. Rotherham United on the other hand come into this match drawing their last 5 matches. Who will have the last laugh? In this video we preview the match, look at the team stats, form book and of course a prediction from the Cat. Birmingham Away

Not much interest in this one eh?! I don't know much about Birmingham except they are a massive, huge club. Around 1000 tickets sold as of yesterday. Predicting a meek 2-0 defeat, the team line up being anyone's guess.
  17. Blackburn Rovers stopped the recent run of defeats to force a draw against a Birmingham City blessed with a very decent attacking force. Birmingham opened up the scoring through Che Adams midway through the first half. To be honest, Birmingham could have scored a few more goals, so Rovers very lucky to only be one goal down at half time. Early in the 2nd half Charlie Mulgrew leveled the scoring direct from a corner kick. With the scores level, Rovers searched for a winner, however Birmingham also threatened. However it was Rovers who took the lead via Danny Graham to give Rovers belief that we could win this game. However the red hot striker Che Adams had other thoughts, and snatched a share of the spoils with a difficult strike from a tricky angle. In this video we hear from two Birmingham City supporters Sean Guiden and Jack Iles as well as Tony Mowbray. Also we look at the match stats, heat maps and comments from around social media. After 90 minutes, the points were shared and I feel Rovers should be happier. Birmingham City: Camp, Morrison (c), Colin, Maghoma (Mrabti, 57), Adams, G. Gardner, Dean, Jota (Mahoney, 70), Jutkiewicz (Vassell, 77), Pedersen, Kieftenbeld. Unused substitutes: Trueman, Davis, C. Gardner, Harding. Goals: Adams, 17, 85. Bookings: Rovers: Raya, Nyambe, Rodwell, Mulgrew (c), Bell, Smallwood, Travis, Bennett, Dack, Reed (Armstrong, 67), Graham. Unused substitutes: Leutwiler, Rothwell, Brereton, Nuttall, Evans, Conway. Goals: Mulgrew, 52, Graham, 83. Bookings: Mulgrew, 47, Smallwood, 86. Referee: Peter Bankes. 18. Next up for Blackburn Rovers a difficult away day at Birmingham City. Rovers come into this match in terrible form losing their past 4 games. Where as Birmingham City come into this match fresh off the back of a home defeat to Bolton Wanderers. In this video we will preview the match, take a look at the team stats, get a prediction from the cat and hear what opposition supporter Jack Iles has to say. 19. Blackburn Rovers continued their recent poor form as they were beaten by playoff chasing Middlesbrough 0-1. The only goal of the game came in the 1st half through danger man Brit Assombalonga who also scored in the reverse fixture. Rovers were dealt another blow as they were reduced to 10 after Derrick Williams received a straight red card on a challenge on Ashley Fletcher. Rovers dug deep in the 2nd half and seem to perform much better with a man less on the field. In fact Rovers has two golden opportunities to level as both Bradley Dack and Danny Graham had great opportunities to score. Rovers will hope this torrid run will end next time as they kick on towards Birmingham at St Andrews. In this video we hear what Tony Mowbray thoughts about the match, catch visiting supporter John Gaunt's take on the result, plus match stats, heat maps and more. Rovers: Raya, Bennett, Rodwell (Nyambe, 46), Mulgrew (c), Evans (Travis, 46), Reed, Brereton (Bell, 46), Dack, Armstrong, Graham. Unused substitutes: Leutwiler, Smallwood, Nuttall, Conway. Booked: Rodwell, 33 Sent off: Williams, 45 Middlesbrough: Randolph, Mikel, Friend (c) (McNair, 61), Shotton, Assombalonga, Howson, Fletcher (Hugill 81), Fry, Saville, Wing, Besic (Downing, 73). Next 6 Games

So as it stands we are de facto 16th, with Sheffield Weds and Brentford having games in hand to overtake us. We have just lost four on the bounce after manager and player of the month for January. Our next 6 games: - Birmingham (away) - (only 3 points ahead but played one game less) - could be a tough game - especially with no defenders. 0 points - Rotherham (away) - bottom three as it stands but so we’re Reading. 3 points on paper but could go either way. Tony going for a draw but the players showing a bit. 3 points - Preston (home) - the nobbers will be well up for this. Don’t fancy us to have the bottle. 0 points - Wigan (home) - well behind us but have hammered us once and Tony doesn’t care about local derbies. Must not lose. 1 point. - Sheff Weds (away) - having a similar season to Rovers - midtable nothing fixture. 1 point - Aston Villa (away) - nowhere near the play-offs and looking like missing out again - but still too good for us. 0 points Stoke (h), Derby (h), Forest (a), QPR (a), Bolton (h), Norwich (a), Swansea (h) take us up to the Summer. Hopefully a season we can look back on (purely at the table) and call it a consolidation season (even though it could have been a nearly season) as opposed to hanging-on and frantically updating BBC Sport table predictor. From last four and next 6, we are staring at one win in 10, maybe even 12, so we need to pull a couple of surprise results out of the bag. Four of our next six are away. Currently in 2019 we are P8 W4 D0 L4 and have completely undone our good start. Its a tough run with 4 of the 6 away. Optimistically I’ve gone 1-2-3, making our start to the year P12 W5 D2 L7, with 6 points from 18, taking us to 49 and safety.

    Reading v Rovers

Whatever you do Rovers, do not lose this. We may have messageboard meltdown. Think I’m going to this match, and my away record this season isn’t the best. 3 losses out of 3 and 11 goals conceded. Pray for me! πŸ™ˆ
  23. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park in search of their first win in more than 3 matches. Their visitors this weekend will be high flyers Middlesbrough, who come into the match on the back of a defeat to fellow playoff chasers Sheffield United. Will we get a winner in this fixture? As when the two sides met earlier in the campaign the scoreline ended 1-1. In this video I'll preview the match, take a look at some expected starting elevens, team stats, a prediction from the Cat and more. 24. Blackburn Rovers make it three defeats in a row, after they lose on the road against relegation threatened Reading. Despite dominating the 1st half it was Reading who took the lead right on the stroke of half time as Swift scored Readings 1st of the match. Mowbray deciding to leave Dack, Graham and Reed on the bench, opting for a much changed attacking trio up front, had to swallow his pride and bring both Dack and Graham on to try and salvage a result. However Rovers equalizer came from an unlikely source that being Bell. Bell's strike made it an interesting final few minutes, however Reading pounced for the winner with Oliviera scoring the winner with only a few minutes left on the clock. Reading: Martinez, Yiadom, Moore (c), Swift, Aluko (Meite, 46), Ejaria, Miazga, Oliveira (Bodvarsson, 90), Blackett, Richards, Kelly (Baker, 80). Unused substitutes: Walker, Gunter, Harriott, Barrow. Goals: Swift, 45, Oliveira, 86 Booked: Ejaria, 40 Rovers: Raya, Bennett, Rodwell, Mulgrew (c), Bell, Smallwood (Dack, 57), Evans, Travis, Conway (Graham, 74), Brereton (Rothwell, 68), Armstrong.
