Mowbray is so frustrating. It's the constant tinkering with the formation, system of play and starting XI. Must be a nightmare for opposition scouts, but also for our players who won't know what they are meant to be doing. Liverpool (and other top teams) have a system of play and they stick to it, whoever comes in. It's not rocket science. The lack of wingers also severely limits our options. We've got Graham and Gallagher in the middle, yet ZERO wingers on the pitch. We've got no options other than to put strikers there or central midfielders out of position.

Huddersfield Town 29.12.19

The team selection will no doubt leave everyone (including the players) confused. I'm expecting something random like Bennett playing no.10 again like last season. -
Today was the first game without Dack, perfect opportunity to say to Holtby or Rothwell, here you go play #10 make it your own. But instead we played Holtby on the bloody wing. He's never been a winger. Typical Mowbray overthinking it.

Bristol City (A) - Bradley Dack's Christmas Break

Credit to Mowbray this last week, he's effectively rotated the team to maximize points over the 3 game week. Fresh faces today made a difference. -
I genuinely do think he listened to fans and other people round him when he was on the brink a few weeks ago. (Not saying he reads this board). I'm not giving him unreserved credit yet when the only reason he played Graham, Nyambe, Rothwell and dropped Bennett, Gallagher etc was because his job was at risk- due to his own poor team selections. I'd still take a replacement, because on balance (transfers/ team selections/tactics) I think we can do better.

Did he play on the left of Lennihan? Something Mowbray said he wouldn't do earlier in the season.

Great news about the team! Let's play to OUR strengths, forget about tinkering about with it every week. COYB

Brentford (h) - the Mowbray love in!

Yep hanging Nyambe out to dry with the expectation that Brentford will score a load -

Mowbray saying that people don't mention all the Brentford signings playing in their B-team (ie first team failures) is one of the least self aware comments I've seen for a while, when he's got Brereton, Samual, Chapman, Davenport running out for our U23s and others that should be joining them. -
Wasn’t that the game that Venkys had all their mates round to watch, Alladyce knew Kean was going to get him sacked anyway, so put out a crap team?

He doesn’t make chances for other people either, which is his job on the wing. -
Barnsley (h) - the Cauldron Of Hate part 2?

If we lost Dack we'd struggle, but at least we might see some strikers playing in the right positions, and GLADWIN could always step in to the No10 role -

After reading the Mowbray quotes earlier this week, I think it will be a split camp before too long. There will be those that will be dragged into the video booth to analyse every pass they misplaced: Travis, Rothwell, Downing (?), Nyambe, Johnson. Get dropped for one poor game or not tracking a player back. The other camp will be free to carry on in the team regardless, no pressure whatsoever on their starting place: Bennett, Armstrong, Gallagher, Williams. -
Tactics, formation and team really is a complete lottery. There's not even any attempt to hide it any more.

January transfer window 2020
OJRovers replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
In a normal world, JRC and maybe even Butterworth would be worthy of a first team chance on form for the U23s. But we know Mowbray doesn't work like that. The frustration is that he's so inconsistent. Last season Brereton was so bad in every game he played (including U23s I seem to remember) yet he gets chances in the first team. Why Chapman isn't treated the same I don't know, because at least he's shown some promise in the appearances he made in League One. -
Nyambe thrown under the bus yet again despite being a young lad playing out of position. Pathetic and cowardly from Mowbray. Don't think i've ever heard him criticise Bennett, Armstrong, Gallagher, Williams in the numerous games they have been poor.

Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.

Would love to see Butterworth get a run of 5 games in place of Armstrong, wouldn't be surprised if he was a big improvement. -
Ha spoke too soon!

In the LT, an insight in the overthinking from Mowbray that happens before every game. He's talking about number of passes Leeds make in the final third, and how we should pass first time to Armstrong/Gallagher etc. God forbid we play to our strengths and not just come up with a new game plan every week depending on who we're playing. -
Williams at LB according to Sharpe. Unbelievable if true.

£48 for JW plus £10 for parking plus £7.50 for a pie and pint. Over £65 for that product is insane pricing.
