  1. Waggott and his pal are still here too. Plenty for them to f**k up, veto or generally ruin.
  2. Didn't he say that currently we are minus money and we need to find that from somewhere, as well as transfer funds? I find the goalscoring situation very grim. We've just lost our only player capable of scoring back to back goals. And in Gregg's last two attempts at bringing a goalscorer in we got Hirst, and in January got sweet FA. He now has to unearth a relatively excellent striker to replace Brereton's goals, as well as another good striker to improve us as last year that's where we fell down.
  3. Yes, we have to self generate our own money because otherwise there is none - so at the moment it is bare. For any prospective manager approached by Rovers at the moment it paints a grim picture. And that doesn't help with a new manager search, especially if we're being picky about what kind of manager we're approaching. He wanted O'Brien but didn't get him. What he wants and what he does are two entirely different things. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he manages to sign 50% of the required players by the end of next month.
  4. Farke would be brilliant but he's not going to come here.
  5. Chaddy, I forgot what a nasty little fellow you were, thank for reminding me. For a guy who spouts so much docile nonsense you should really watch what you say. Some questions. I’ll answer them for you as you clearly struggle. Was Owen Coyle a bargain basement option? Yes. (I know you famously supported him during his time here so sorry if that stings) Did we have a “healthy” budget when Gregg sweet talked Tomasson. Yes. Has Gregg told us the cupboard is bare now. Yes. Are Venkys still in ultimate control? Yes. Did they employ Owen Coyle? Yes. So now I’ve jogged your addled memory, how is employing a decent manager “tripe” exactly? Are you saying in the interests of maintaining continuity you’d employ an average or even poor manager just because he wants to pass the ball? Over a solid manager that will employ any methods possible to win games?
  6. So the lack of a striker and OBrien wasn’t the reason for not making the play offs on GD. Those are some heavy sweeping noises from a bloke who says he isn’t trying to brush it under the carpet 🙄
  7. I think you’re mistaking what people want, and what people believe the likes of Waggott and co are capable of. If JDT goes we should be thankful of any decent manager coming here, regardless of style. It’s far more likely, given their history, they’ll employ a bargain basement version. Especially as with the egg broadcasting that we’re beginning the transfer window on minus money, it’ll be difficult to attract anyone.
  8. You mean the model, structure and playing style that we have due to JDT being here? If we need a new manager that means he won’t be here, so probably best just to employ the best we can muster.
  9. An improvement on Owen Coyle.
  10. If a section of fans didn't take to JDT, imagine how they'd feel about Russell Martin 🤯
  11. Jones would be the best outcome we could imagine for what these clowns have in store. Russell Martin, ffs. What a shit replacement he'd be. Goodness knows what second choice is.
  12. Back when Gregg was proclaiming loud and proud about having a healthy budget. It won't happen again.
  13. That's not the point, we had an excellent chance of the automatics season. A decent striker and O'Brien and we'd have been challenging Sheffield Utd. If he goes to Feyenoord that's any progress down the drain and I won't blame him at all. Totally on the idiots above that we didn't strike when the iron was hot. And now with the egg confirming we haven't a pot to piss in we've got a fate worse than Coyle if he goes.
  14. I'm fully expecting Mowbray to sign Harry Chapman, Richie Smallwood and Elliott Bennett. Wonderful boys.
  15. GB knew when saying that that two play off teams spent £2m+ on a centre forward, one spent £1m+ and another that spent between £4-5m. Greggs offering was an embarrassing failure. I can’t agree with someone saying we are turning the taps off but expect to wash our faces regardless. Just another dumb down merchant. Perhaps the dumbest yet.
  16. I’d be surprised if JDT begins the season. If Broughton speaks in the boardroom like he does to the press, we’re going to struggle to keep any manager. I hope he doesn’t do any team talks. What a harbinger of doom. Never volunteer for the Samaritans Gregg.
  17. Brereton was a wreckless signing at the time when we had so many players to replace. Gallagher for £5m is unfathomable. He did well with Dack and Armstrong.
  18. Wonder whether he'll put in a bid for all those young boys he absolutely loves and raised like his own? Travis, Gallagher and Vale are available Tony!
  19. I remember reading a press release that started... "Steve Waggott leaves Coventry City after seeing the club through a difficult period." And thinking, coincidence?
  20. Is that the fella that won Eurovision a few years back?
  21. I hope Luton trounce them, the cheating point deduction dodging shitehawks.
  22. Travis and Buckley on a combined million a year don't really earn their keep. If I was the manager I'd be looking to replace with more quality asap. Hedges too.
  23. George Hirst £16,000... "But we can't afford to spend money lots of money, even if he is an excellent player." We can certainly afford to waste it.
  24. The point is that Mercer was saying how much more organised Coventry are. They were a cheated point at Ewood more organised. So how Mercer works out they were much better than Rovers, I don't know. They had their share of awful results throughout the season. 4-0 defeat at home to Stoke. 4-2 defeat at home to Norwich. 2-1 defeat at home to Blackpool. 1-0 away at reading. Conceded 4 goals to Wrexham and knocked out of the FA Cup. Yeah massively more organised.
  25. No, they had a goal scorer or two. I watched almost every team this season at some point, and all were capable of playing like they'd been on the bottle before the game. Goal scorers bailed them out, and goal difference kept us out of the play offs. That's the simple truth of the matter. Coventry were only one point away from us - which they fecking stole from us via blatant handball, and they should have had a points deduction.
