  1. You have to look at the bigger picture though. Earlier in the season the defence was better organised than it was under Mowbray, which led to 3 points. We were holding out better, more resilient. Now we're having to resort to using squad players and youth more the wheels are falling off. Would you have taken 10th before the season started? I thought we'd be mid/lower table going off the squad and as predicted, we'd struggle for goals.
  2. And now Watford have scored against Blackpool, so we've gone back down.
  3. West Brom beating Luton now, what a comeback. So we've gone up a place.
  4. Desperate for a striker and moving with all the pace of a snail with M.E.
  5. Is tenth not a good return all things considered? And if we continue to have average transfer windows (I'd argue the Summer window was below average as it's left us with Hyam), we lose Brereton for nothing and we're bottom by next Christmas whose fault is that? Can any manager work under such circumstances? If things continue the way they are JDT won't be here next season.
  6. And QPR, Birmingham, West Brom. I'm not quite sure why so many people think we'll do well without a single decent striker at the club. Who said big investment? We just need a decent amount of shrewd investment. I'd say Luton have done that. Luton signed a striker which is more than we've done in about 3 years.
  7. He's not going to say "same old shit squad" "more of the same" is he? Of course they'll get worse, why would you think they'd get better after what we've witnessed before? We did the same last season, and the season before that but we keep spending less money season after season. If they don't invest in this window we'll plummet. If he manages to keep the team in the top half without decent investment then JDT's a genius.
  8. Get rid of Tomasson and we'll just have another manager trying to work out how to score goals with no fecking strikers, whilst developing young players for PL clubs and to sell on to make buttons, while the promoted teams strike gold. Venkys out.
  9. Yes but he's been here for 7 months (I think) whereas the man before him had five years and left us with an unbalanced and thin squad. And it's also down to Gregg Broughton who has a lot to prove if he's in charge of supplying quality footballers for the manager to work with (never been a fan of that model personally). I get frustrated with JDT, the team he put out against Burnley was unfathomable, but the squad isn't great and the over reliance of inexperienced players isn't helping too. I just don't think the problems are as black and white as some.
  10. 3-0 now. Burnley struggling against Cov at the moment. Watch them nick a goal.
  11. The atrocities have also coincided with my other point that we overall, have a lacklustre bunch of players. So not really. If you think we're just as bad with Brereton then your cup is emptier than mine.
  12. Dack is only as good as the players in front of him. Stick a player like Pukki or Toney in front of him and they'd score a bucket load. Not sure about Gallagher as a target man as today he was just giving up before he'd even lost the ball, but I don't know why we don't play BBD up front when we need to.
  13. I'd have started Dolan but I still don't think it would have mattered. The only positions that looked strong on the teamsheet were Ayala and Hyam. Apart from that it looked like a shambles of a team and the bench options don't offer much in the way of changes. Fullbacks... oof. Midfield... oof oof. Forwards... Pass me the valium.
  14. But what else do you do? They could have played all week and wouldn't have scored. They played 60 seconds and conceded. A poor collection of players with a bunch of decent ones who bail them out occasionally.
  15. Brereton being out is a big miss as apart from his goals he is a handful for the opposition, even just running at them. It means they can't commit as much. Rotherham must have figured out pretty quickly our front two didn't have any chance of scoring but with Brereton there's always the chance of a worldie. But it's not just Brereton, we're missing other players and we should have signed a few by now. At the moment it's Mowbray's team with the addition of Morton and Hyam, but minus Lenihan, Nyambe and Johnson. I don't expect anything from forwards like Gallagher and Vale, along with a midfield with two young lads, a makeshift fullback and a fullback that's not good enough. So results like today aren't a surprise to me. It's more of a surprise when we win.
  16. Garrett and Morton in midfield. Vale and Gallagher upfront. That's got to be the worst teamsheet and forward line I've seen since Venkys arrived.
  17. False position when you look at the xG. Let's not forget we're missing a few players. If that team is played every week we're down at the bottom of the league. Criminal that obvious limitations in the squad weren't addressed 18 months ago, then 12 months ago, then 6 months ago.
  18. He's getting an undeserved free pass. And I don't buy that he wasn't here long enough to address the squad in Summer. However as soon as the January window opened, we should have been signing a fullback, a midfielder and a number 9. The buck stops at his door for not being more proactive. Venkys should have been pushing for it and offering money to push on. Rotherham haven't had a clean sheet in 7 games which tells you about the quality of our attacking options. The other beef I have with GB is that he shouldn't have appointed Tomasson if the club wasn't or couldn't sign players for his "project". It should have been a more pragmatic appointment considering the state of the squad.
  19. He threw the snowball that started the avalanche!
  20. Nah, no matter who manages Rovers they'll always have a set of tw@ts to deal with from above. VENKYS OUT!
  21. I think he's as frustrated as we are. He asked for a striker and Hirst was offered. Asked for a fullback and Mola was offered. Asked for a forward and got Szmodics. The best signing seems to be a sicknote. Go through the team he was left with and pick out the ones you'd keep. There won't be many. You don't win games without goalscorers but I understand the frustration, it's thoroughly depressing.
