  1. Would you be looking him in the eyes or counting the fingers on his hand holding his glass?
  2. Would the introduction of a worldwide maximum wage help?
  3. Leutwiler played well at Norwich but reverted to poor again against Swansea. I would get rid of Leutwiler, keep Raya, get a much better keeper and, most importantly, get a better goalkeeper coach. I think TM should review all his backroom staff and be brave enough to replace the poor ones.
  4. Excellent looking kits; that is if the blue on the player's left at the front is on the player's right at the back thus giving us the proper quartered shirt. I know everyone calls our shirts halves but two halves on the front and two halves on the back make four halves which is an impossible number to have. Four quarters please. Also, never again sky blue for me. Always a deeper shade. And another thing.......we don't want any of the 50 shades thank you.
  5. All players should play to the whistle. I've screamed this at Rovers players when there has been an opponent down and they slow down and look to play the ball into touch.
  6. He has been ill according to the media. Glad that he played tonight even if he was below par.
  7. Very proud of the lads tonight. After the first 20 minutes, where we looked like we were going to get a 7-1 revenge battering, we came into the game and never looked back. Norwich showed what an excellent team they are but we gave as good as we got and had them worried at times. We looked better when BB and Conway came on and Rothwell moved into midfield. I was hoping for an equaliser in the last 5 minutes but it wasn't to be. Leutwiler played very well.
  8. Yep. Leeds can only make 88. Norwich now have 88
  9. We've won the last 4 and Norwich have drawn their last 4. On paper, therefore, they are due a win and we are due a loss. They expect to clinch the championship with this game. It all points towards a Norwich rout. But football is a funny old game. Right. Brereton makes an early goal for Dack. Later Dack assists Big Ben to put Rovers 2 up. Norwich pull 1 back before half time. On about 55 minutes Norwich equalise. But later. somehow, we score a 3rd and then, incredulously we get a 4th. On 88 minutes they get their 3rd and, with 6 minutes of added time, I bite my fingernails and fingers down to the knuckles as they pile the pressure on. Eventually the final whistle blows and I fall exhausted to the floor. We'll win 4-3
  10. Stanley winning 2-0 after 55 minutes. Come on you reds!
  11. The subs were warming up at half time and I said to my mates. "There's Harry Chapman". It was his doppelgänger, Butterworth. Also for Tom's information, Bennett was with the warming up lads, too.
  12. I'm sure Reg Elvy played wearing a flat cap and sometimes a pair of glasses. That night in Bolton when Faz scored our winning goal, there were over 33,000 on for a 3rd Division match. No segregation then. I returned to Hoghton to enjoy some pints of brilliant Boddingtons in The Old Oak. What a great night!
  13. Mowbray reverts to type. This fella is taking us nowhere next season. So frustrating for us fans
  14. I'm glad it was City and not Rovers. I would have been devastated had that happened to us.
  15. I'm not grateful to them Stuart. But think where this club could be without them at the present moment. Forget the past. Think of now.
  16. We are better off than Bolton, Coventry, Charlton and many more, including Blackpool. I would have preferred a UAE conglomerate as owners but, in the meantime, I'll string along with Venkys.
  17. What is happening to Bolton and other clubs makes me thankful that we have Venkys as owners. They are mega rich. They seem to be decent, sincere people. They are still very naive with regard to football matters but they are funding us. I think we should accept them. I hate to think where we could be or would be if we lost them. (This is a serious post and not a wind-up).
  18. And a teenager got their winner. Take note Mr Mowbray.
  19. Ipswich were a nothing club until Alf Ramsay became their manager. He took them to greatness. Bobby Robson did the same for them. I quite like the tractor boys. But, every dog has its day; as we well know down here at Ewood. Nothing lasts.
  20. And play Bennett in goal, no doubt.
  21. Oh, I believe you. Just saying.
  22. Really? I remember Ipswich and Norwich being Div 3 sides. Same as Brighton, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Millwall, Watford and Reading. I must be getting old.
  23. Dougie didn't play with Shearer?
