  1. Jamal Lewis possible loan interest, trying to get better source, dont know a lot about him.
  2. As i said yesterday, i'm leaning towards that deal happening.
  3. Double sticker today? Just on Hirst, Leicester value him at £5 million, that does not mean the pre-agreed fee is £5 million. We dont know if there is a loan fee, we dont know the wage contribution. Lets wait for official announcement
  4. Pretty much, similar thing brighton are doing with Van Hecke before they'd consider loan
  5. Only posting my understanding, not endorsing it or saying its bad. If he is rank, we dont need to buy him. If we'd had a loan to buy for Van Hecke for £5 million last season, im sure the comments would of been similar. Now £5 mill for Van Hecke aged 22 is a steal
  6. Lets see what happens, i'm 60/40 in favour of that happening, needs a little movement from us, but come thursday that compromise might occur
  7. Loan to buy will be similar to Zeefuik. Fee agreed, we have option to exercise it, or walk away. That fee i believe is £5 million, which is some statement of intent, and falls under next seasons budget
  8. If it helps, one of the same people who told me about Styles, gave me this one!!
  9. Depends what you count as marquee? If a player say Bowler for instance (just an example) is £4 million, then thats above our budget. This would need special case putting together with facts figure and possible returns on investment, just like the case which was done for BBD purchase. Barkley would not fall under this; he was on £200k per week. Unless he wants to accept a maximum of 23k a week that will not happen. Our wage budget will not be raised under any circumstances. A sale of BBD would mean we dont need to ask for special case money as £5 million of that would be made available. However the thing we must take into account, our transfer budget is for the season, so if we do spend it all this window, then January will be a non event in terms of transfers. Also a special case, is not just any player above £3 million, its got to really stack up
  10. Waggott confirmed in meeting with me that they were not chucking local media any bones and unless they have great contacts with agents or other clubs, then they are screwed really. He did comment they were trying to find who was leaking things to Nixon too but had been unsuccessful to date.
  11. I think we can guarantee though that we will sign players which are leaked from the selling club first, or from whats been posted on here. To date local press run with what was already common knowledge or claimed exclusives hours after the name was on here or twitter. I do miss the days of Andy Cryer and Nixon when he genuinely had good sources
  12. I think he is just managing supporter expectations, give safe number which you dont get shot for later. So he is 3 would of been on side of caution imo
  13. Tbh, like lots on here heard quite a few names, but given how close Rovers are keeping cards close to their chest bar what i've posted previously be daft to speculate further. If I was guessing, and im not negotiating the deals, i'd go Hirst, Styles plus another 1 perm, 1 loan. If BBD goes As above but it be the two mentioned plus two perm with Bowler and a striker from abroad. This is purely based on murmurings and nothing more.
  14. Whatever happens and i do think it will be 4 more not 3, its actually good going into Thursday for a deadline day worth looking forwards to, because if im being completely honest the last few have been awful.
  15. Left 6 seasons ago, has barely played in fairness, however has managed 30 odd goals from little minutes, which is not too far off what Sam Gallagher who is 27 in a few weeks has scored his entire career.
  16. In 3 and half seasons, last number half a season he scored. 28 25 21 11 If thats a busted flush i give up, only Shearer in the last 30 odd years returned those type of figures consistently
  17. I recall lots wanting Rhodes gone as they felt he "only scores goals" and we need more than that. I'd take him back in at heartbeat, its not been great for him since he left, but was never blessed with pace so age of no concern. He had a knack of being right place, right time and put enough purchase on the ball to find the net. Give me him all day other our current lack of options
  18. Couple spring to mind, remember Pete Thorne bagging hat-trick against Chorley pre-season, never broke through but had decent career in lower divisions Patrick Anderson, think off memory could be wrong he made his debut against sheff wed away? Never happened for him here but then played for some of biggest clubs in Europe afterwards including barcelona, bought him same week as Berg if i remember.
  19. A player i did like the look off was Saydee at Bournemouth, very raw, but was a real handful for Norwich mid-week, be a decent pick up for someone him
  20. Shit himself, and headed quickly in the direction of the stewards
  21. I'm trying to learn not to bite on here, did see one trying his best yesterday to WUM, but just moved past the post and carried on. This is a forum, 99% of us don't work in media or get paid to share things, its just discussion points which can get too overly personal. Given the above its not forum members job to get it right all or at all, we dont have to sell papers, or explain ourselves. Admittedly though i get far more agitated on twitter by keyboard warriors and their insults, so rather than ignore, they get it back double barrelled, or the one i saw at the club shop saturday who went white when i asked him "you got something to say, you had plenty on twitter?"
