  1. 1] well that would have been the harshest penalty ever, there's no way Lucas intended to touch that ball with his hand 2] That's not luck, that's good goalkeeping 3] Exactly. Some people suggest that Sunderland were the better side, that's way off the mark. Sunderland huffed and puffed second half and created absolutely nothing. As Hughes said, rovers were always in charge of the game. Rovers didn't play well second half, but they are, and were yesterday, a far superior team to Sunderland.
  2. Which were the lucky bits. The best team won - again.
  3. C'mon guys, it's boring everyone. Keep things civil. Next thing we know the mods will get PM's complaining about other members behaviour. EDIT: would you believe one of the mods just got one.
  4. Liverpool fans singing "going down, going down, going down" - Brum fans retorted with "so are we, so are we, so are we".
  5. Probably. I saw the 5-5 draw with Arsenal as well. Didn't rovers go 3-0 up, then fall behind, finally to rescue a draw - or something vaguelly like that? Compare these two sides: Else, Bray,Newton, Clayton,England,McGrath, Ferguson,McEvoy,Pickering,Douglas,Harrison. Flowers, Berg, Hendry, Pearce,Le Saux, Ripley, Sherwood, Atkins, Wilcox, Shearer, Sutton.
  6. Courtesy Of Tyrone Shoelaces: Rovers: Else, Bray,Newton, Clayton,England,McGrath, Ferguson,McEvoy,Pickering,Douglas,Harrison. Scorers- Andy McEvoy 4, Bryan Douglas 1, Mike England 1, Fred Pickering 1 Spurs - Brown, Baker, Henry, Blanchflower, Norman, Mackay, Saul, White, Smith, Greaves, Dyson. Scorers- Jimmy Greaves1,Dave Mackay1. Attendence 20,949.
  7. 1-0 down after 55 seconds, 2-0 down after 4 minutes.
  8. Sorry, - he's under contract here. See topic below.
  9. Thanks TS. Hmm, John Bond , Martin Peters, Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst [world cup winners] and Peter Sissons. That's some team. The rovers side of Else, Bray,Newton, Clayton,England,McGrath, Ferguson,McEvoy,Pickering,Douglas,Harrison. is the best rovers team I've ever seen. Any stats on the rovers/Spurs teams who were involved in the 7-2 scoreline?
  10. It is Jim. The thing about it as well, is the fact that this was an excellent West Ham team [they won the FA cup in '64, at a time when the FA cup was so important to every side]. - just as it was an excellent Spurs side that rovers thrashed 7-2 at Ewood. Someone on here must have the stats [teams and scorers, for both sides] for both of those games?
  11. Well, you'll have to look at the replay and see whether the ref stood with one hand in the air. I didn't notice, but it's a good point. It did look like obstruction rather than a foul.
  12. Some, of the Liverpool fans, note I said "some", think they run the game. Link
  13. Drogba just had a goal crossed off, because he handled the ball first. No booking though.
  14. Yes, he did move his arm towards the ball. What I want to know though, is should every hand ball during a game be punished by a yellow card? Simple yes or no will do.
  15. That's superb Lee, I'll be renewing on D.D. Now all they need to do is extend it to 12 months, whereby it is renewed automatically.
  16. Radio Lancs reporting that Tugay will need another week, before being available for selection.
  17. Last time rovers played on Xmas day: 25th December 1965. Blackpool 4-2 Rovers.
  18. 99% certain that I was at the last game that rovers played on Christmas day. It was in the 60s, away to Blackpool.
  19. You mean Liverpool, don't you?
  20. Wait until it's been confirmed, Krislu
  21. Moved to Sunday?
  22. Yeah, but what about the rovers fans who don't want to sit behind the goals and can't afford the JW upper?
  23. Cave in? It isn't a battle Simon. What's a bad date for some, is a good date for others. There's no ideal time to play.
  24. Sorry guys, but being awkward, [to their credit], simply isn't rovers way of doing. Hopefully rovers will get back to Liverpool and come to a final arrangement, one that suits both clubs, as quickly as possible. After that, Liverpool FC will have to sort themselves out for their future fixtures - and stick to it.
