  1. Most of the posts on this thread fill me with sorrow. So much enthusiasm, fun, hope, camaraderie, spirit, excitement and pride has been eroded away over these last 15 years. But please don't give up, get angry instead. Take action. One day we will get our club back
  2. You used the word re-invest twice. I don't think you have been paying attention.
  3. Ability, stats, attitude, age - none of that matters. As long as they are on the Steve Kean / Adam Owen / Rudy Gestede 'money-go-round' list then they are a potential signing. Both Youan and Miller signed for Hibs in June 2022. Agents still run the club
  4. Support the boycott? Fancy being part of a video montage? Send in a clip of yourself saying 'i am boycotting the Watford match' or something similar to iamboycotting@hotmail.com
  5. I think visual protests within the ground could be far more divisive than any boycott. I remember a 'hold up a red card' match during the Kean era which resulted in scuffles in the ground between protesters and people who didn't agree with it. Some fans will always be against all forms of protest , some fans will join in every form of protest, some fans will protest to some extent as long as it doesn't upset their routine. Boycotting one match is an opportunity for the protesters to make a point without upsetting the anti-protesters in the ground. Everyone can make up their own mind whether they want to join in or not without affecting anyone else's routine or enjoyment.
  6. And 'press send' just after it closes
  7. It's called Venky fatigue. Nothing a good protest and change of ownership won't fix
  8. I believe the stewards were primed to confiscate the banner if it appeared yesterday. Hence the use of cardboard placards instead - Pasha will be fuming

  10. Surely 2,000 people in a 30,000, stadium every week would be enough of an embarrassment. That's where we will be in 5 years or so if they are still here. If everyone boycotts season tickets next season we can make it happen sooner
  11. When the Coalition requested him not to attend matches last season, he stated on the video with Andy Bayes, that as COO he couldn't possibly do his job if he didn't attend matches. Now he is not attending matches! For me, it is actually a hopeful sign. Venky's trust Pasha completely and if he has had enough, it may get them wondering if he is right. Pasha is the only person we can actually put pressure on and he hates it. We need to keep piling it on continually.
  12. Connections to Steve Kean and Adam Owen. Gestede/Pasha happy to play along. I am sure someone benefitted along the way
  13. No dilemma at all. Keep him. If we sell, we are massively increasing our chances of relegation. Any income from selling him now would almost certainly not be sensibly reinvested in the team.
  14. Not sure that figure is anywhere near realistic. Birmingham went for £22 million, Wednesday are currently looking for £20 million but it could be less. Swansea were sold for £100 million when they were in the Prem and sold again recently for an undisclosed amount 'vastly below' that initial investment according to most reports.
  15. Bannon's chance when he lifted the ball over Pears is one I would expect him to score 8 times out of 10. We got very lucky there.
  16. When the club captain openly takes the piss on Sky Sports and then laughs at him, and the manager makes it clear he doesn't rate him, I am not surprised Gueye's enthusiasm in training is diminished. I bet he can't wait to leave. Good luck to him wherever he goes. He will be better off out of this shell of a club.
  17. I don't see why any of that is an argument against boycotting. If you are unhappy with the way the club is run then boycotting is an opportunity to show it - it's only one match.
  18. Recently there has been an undercurrent of blame from the club for the poor home form - lack of atmosphere. Conversely, it could be argued that our decent away form is helped by excellent away support. So they now decide to make it as difficult as possible to buy tickets for an important away match - Why oh Why? Compare this to a club like Wrexham who are laying on free travel to Ewood for all their fans on Thursday. If the club put in no effort whatsoever, why should we ? Venky's out
  19. Oxford was a Tuesday night, Watford is a Saturday so if we get the same attendance ( 6,000 ) as you expect then I would say that the boycott has definitely had an effect
  20. I think they do understand - that is why the coalition have requested that anyone not wishing to boycott the match to boycott food and drink in the ground and goods from the club shop.
  21. The call for a boycott is a starting point. I don't think there are many Rovers fans who have not heard about it - so that is a start - get people thinking, get people talking and get the spotlight on Venky's in general and Pasha in particular. It is an initial step and if most fans ignore it - as you suggest will be the case - then other options will be considered. Things that will get more people on board are a run of bad results/relegation/bad transfer dealings. All those things will happen sooner or later under the current set up but if we wait until things are that bad, the call for a boycott will just appear to be reactionary. I think it is a good idea to 'get our retaliation in first' and it shouldn't stop after the Watford game whether there is 1 person there or 20,000 there.
  22. Boycott - It needs to be done. The club is only going one way if Venky's remain
  23. He is certainly there at the moment but that is not uncommon.
  24. Maybe Ismael went against Pasha's instructions out of necessity. Pasha is away in India. I still think Pickering is on the list of departures in January
  25. Pasha's remit is to run the club as he sees fit and make it as cost effective as possible. The owners leave it to him completely and as long as he doesn't ask for extra money over the agreed budget, the owners are happy and he gets his bonus. He is all powerful at the club - especially now that Steve Waggott has gone. The owners really have no interest and just accept his decisions without question. If Pasha told the owners that he had cut costs to the max and it was now a matter of put up more money or sell then Venky's would probably sell. Pasha hates publicity ( and fans !) and is very arrogant. If we keep the pressure on him and he decides he's had enough ( and earned enough ) it could be the start of the end for Venky's
