  1. I think we may be in such a dire situation by November that many of them would join an 18(in) -75(out) type protest. Rubber chickens and ref's whistles at the ready.
  2. He was always known as Suhail Pasha in the early years. He seemed to start using Shaikh more recently Wikipedia have him listed as Suhail Pasha, The BBC still refer to him as Suhail Pasha - the quote below was from a couple of months ago: Blackburn Rovers chief operating officer Suhail Pasha has sat down with BBC Radio Lancashire this week - the first time he has spoken to the media publicly since Venky's bought the club in 2010.
  3. b) would be a blessed relief. Bring it on !
  4. With Wharton being injured, I doubt he will be sold today. However, it will be a disaster if he does go for £150 Million and Rovers get a big pay out. Pasha will be a hero in Venky's eyes and the face washing will continue way into the future with Pasha having complete autonomy. As a side note, I have heard from a Wharton family friend that Adam favours a move to Liverpool.
  5. I am sure all his agents are delighted. Agents Pasha, Gestede and Owen, along their friends behind the scenes, obviously think it is a great idea to sign an injured player
  6. My worry is that we have played 5 average/poor teams and lost to 4 of them. It is habit forming. I know WBA have had a decent start but they aren't world beaters. Only 3 players started today who were not here last season but we looked very disjointed and there was very little talking or encouragement between the players. More like 11 individuals rather than a team.
  7. I heard exactly the same story. Gestede happy with the deal, Leonard said his farewells but Pasha blocked it. Cue the power struggle.
  8. Nothing posted on court website yet. Usually takes a day or two to catch up.
  9. Fair enough but the other option is that they put some of their massive wealth towards a promotion push while the FFP situation allows it. I imagine Rovers would be a much more attractive proposition to potential new owners if we were in the Premiership.
  10. I would be happy to be self sustainable as long as the ambition was still there. For example in the 80s - I loved those times when we constantly pushed for promotion or the playoffs without any real cash behind us. We managed to do this because we were well run by people who cared about the club. However, we have billionaire owners who take no interest and yet you are happy for them to put no money in and admit we are not aiming to achieve promotion ? What is the point in a football club with no ambition?
  11. It doesn't affect the transfer budget, it just means the club has more money to pay the bills without Venky's needing to send more funds from India. So in terms of team strengthening it makes no difference if we get a fee or not. The outcome is the same. Cost cutting and downgrading. So, not good news. To be honest, I would rather we got no fees from player sales meaning Venky's would either have to cough up more funds or decide enough is enough. Preferably the latter.
  12. How can selling decent Championship players with vast experience and replacing them with cheaper, unproven players be good news ? It is cost cutting which could turn out to be false economy once all the saleable playing assets are gone. The policy is driven by Pasha wanting to save money for his employers not by any ambition to build a decent team.
  13. This window is bringing back some bad memories - Radosav Petrovic ( I think he was 6 ft 4 by coincidence ), Sacha Petshi, Fode Koita etc This new 'Travis replacement' is injured, on loan and on a pay as you play contract ( I believe ) I doubt he will be here next season.
  14. It seems like there is no way back for Travis at this point. I can see Derby sticking to their original offer and Rovers will be so desperate by the end of next week that they will have to accept it. If Gestede digs his heels in then we are left with a player who doesn't want to be here and Derby will get him for free at some point anyway.
  15. Not convinced Cheadle is even a town, more like a village.
  16. At some point this season we will see protests. You are probably right in your belief that it will be results on the pitch that will be the turning point but Pasha and Gestede are increasingly adding fuel to the fire. More and more fans are getting restless. I think you underestimate our fans.
  17. OK, we haven't had success so far but we must keep trying. I think @TheDon88 and his experiences give us hope for the future but we need to put the effort in
  18. No matter how unlikely it may seem, there will be a point where the worm turns. We have to keep encouraging it. One PASHSA OUT banner today, more questions asked in the crowd, more people become enlightened as to what is going on. A few more banners and shouts of dissent in the coming weeks, more awareness, actual protests ? We can sit on our hands and watch the continued decline and wait for the sub-4000 season ticket sales or we can at least try to motivate some action.
  19. I had this thought as soon as the match was announced as the 150th celebration game. I know it would be a difficult decision for most fans because we want to celebrate the club's history. However, we need to do something to make sure it has a future. I think a repeat of the 1875 match against Wolves when Coyle was manager would be ideal. Empty stadium until 18th minute, all leave in 75th but make loads of noise outside the ground. I think Jack Walker would approve.
  20. Thanks for taking the time to post. The recent similarities between our two clubs are obvious from reading your first paragraph. However, one thing we are not doing, and haven't for a long time, is protest. Some fans have been numbed into a state of acceptance, some have walked away and some just enjoy going to the game and are not too interested in the off the pitch issues. I've heard all the arguments about protests not working and we need to engage. Too late for that. We need protests and we need them now. Even if people don't want to attend marches or sit ins or delayed arrival at matches, we can start with financial sanctions in the club shop, in the ground etc. It is time for action, has been for a long time.
  21. A good potted history but you missed the most disgusting, brazen and obviously crooked event of the whole 15 years. A professional contract for Myles Anderson ( son of you know who ) who eventually found his level at Heybridge Swifts! They must have been laughing all the way to the bank at our expense.
  22. Eustace probably knows what financial outgoings we need to pay by the end of August. He will start off with an offer that covers wages or HMRC demands knowing Rovers will eventually accept that plus two months electricity bills and the agent's fees.
  23. Oh great, another transitional year, another journey, another excuse. Just what we need to celebrate 150 years. The only transition we are undergoing is from bad to worse.
  24. From supporters consultation meeting 2017 Andy Bayes: Quick question form the floor. Paul Keogh: I think most people in this room or most supporters at home will be pleased to hear that we’re no longer linked to SEM and Kentaro. Does that also mean that Suhail Pasha no longer works for Kentaro? Because he did previously. Paul Senior: Well I can’t comment on what he previously did but I do know that at this moment in time he’s not employed by those organisations; he’s employed by the owners. He looks after a number of the, or has a relationship with a number of the owners’ portfolios, including this Football Club - working in other countries as well. I have not been aware of any link or relationships between a professional at that level. He’s employed by the owners, by the club. James: What’s his real name, Mike? Obviously on Linked in, he’s called Suhail Sheikh. Every news article I read – Lancashire Evening Telegraph, even yourself referred to him as Suhail Pasha. So what’s his name: Suhail Sheikh or Pasha? Mike Cheston: I only know him as just Suhail. Paul Keogh: My question is to Mike. It’s regarding Suhail: you’ve just confirmed that he is employed by the club. Does he have a title for the club at all? Mike Cheston: Yes he does have a title. Paul Keogh: Which is…? Mike Cheston: Errrrrr errrrrrm Something like ‘Management Consultant’. I can’t remember the exact title. Paul Keogh: And do you not find it a little bit concerning from your point of view, Mike, that Paul has come along tonight and confirmed that he can openly pick up the phone and speak to Belaji or Venkatesh over in India? You’ve been here for how long now? Mike Cheston: Three years. Paul Keogh: Three years and you still have to go through Suhail? Mike Cheston: I don’t have to… Paul Keogh: Well why is he here, then? If you can open dialogue with the owners freely, why are we wasting money, under the current financial position that we’re in, and paying a Director or ‘Management Consultant’ to jet between India and England? Is that not a drain on our resources? Mike Cheston: I’ll confirm his exact title. I just can’t remember at the moment.
