  1. And my point is there are obviously reasons we aren't privy to as to why he has featured so little(although Mowbray has touched on these), but what we do know is that he hasn't delivered in his, albeit brief ,cameos and from what I have seen from his body language he looks to be a sulk who mopes around more far more than a young professional footballer should. With the talent he has, he should be out there smiling and enjoying himself. I hope the lad comes good and soon. I 100% agree that we should have a winger there instead of Gallagher.
  2. So he has "barely been on the pitch to mope", but you have seen enough in that time for your opinion to be valid? Ok then. As for his contribution the other day "one swallow doesn't make a summer"
  3. I have seen him do it in games, whats not to understand? I have also read match reports from people here who said he was poor for the under 23s, moping etc. What are you basing your opinion on? You up a tree in Brockhall with your binoculars? Yep, hopefully a sign of things to come.
  4. 1- I would look at it more as a bare minimum of what every player should do, unless they are delivering goals and or assists, in that case, you can let it go somewhat. Unfortunately Chapman hasn't delivered hard work, goals or assists(until the other day, long may it continue). 2-Ah he was ok in League 1, lets not re-write history. He obviously thinks he should be starting, so it's up to him to make sure the manager can't leave him out. If he delivered at training, Mowbray couldn't as it would lead to him losing respect from the other players. He strikes me as a sulk, even his general demeanor. I agree about Bennett, but the "Mowbray doesn't like young players" narrative has been firmly debunked. We don't need to go through it again. Just look at the average age of our starting line ups and how many academy players are involved. As for the thinking they are the dogs bollox part, he is dead right. Some young players are a joke. Driving around in £100,000 cars without playing a senior game. Do you remember the young city player who told the League 1 player in an under 23 game that he earns far more than him? We have done well to root out the bad eggs, all the young players we have seem to be well grounded. I would give Mowbray credit for that.
  5. I have watched him twice live with Ireland , can't recall if I have seen him with Milwall beyond a few clips. He actually scored in the Poland game, so maybe I saw the good side. He looks very hard working and I would say strong on the ball. He took his goal well, a header. He plays upfront or on either wing (Tonys ears prick up). He has been injured recently. Ya, I agree we have a lot of options in the attacking areas. Its a GK, CB (or 2) and a left-back first and foremost for me.
  6. Ya, I have seen him do it. Indeed, but I think it's fair to say that even from his limited appearances, before the Reading game, Chapman has never really delivered much. So if he isn't delivering and not working hard, you've got a real problem.
  7. With add ons it's complicated, base rates I think we would get £3 mil for Travis and more like £4.5 million for Lenihan. Factor in Travis is English and add ons related to that and you could be closer or above the £4.5 million, but then you would have add ons for Lenihan too.
  8. Did any of you listen to Dacks commentary on the Cardiff game? I got the impression he thinks Travis has a long way to go. I think the players would be surprised if Travis wins. He's a huge fan favourite though, so it's very possible. I would imagine Armstrong is pretty confident!
  9. Maybe Nyambe, but not a chance with Travis imo
  10. I wouldn't say there is much in it, but I would say Lenihan is worth slightly more. Although you could argue Travis is English, so that increases his value, whereas Lenihan is a full-international Personally, I rate Travis more highly as well
  11. Nice replacement for Graham
  12. Of course and we don't know their thoughts(not even Mowbray seems to!) but I don't think they are going to start selling cheaply whilst Mowbray is here.
  13. Do you really need examples of defenders without PL experience moving for more than that? It will be interesting to see if prices go down that much, but back in January 2.5 million wouldn't get you a top League 1 defender
  14. No chance IMO, not right now.
  15. Perhaps and if that is the case, we could pick up the likes of Curtis from Pompey cheaper
  16. What is with the negativity today? Armstrong and Dack are easily worth more than £5 million now and Lenihan not far off it. Didn't Sheffield united bid £4.5 million for him last summer?
  17. I was going off current cost. Do you think Travis would bring in more of a fee than Lenihan?
  18. In fairness to Bennett and Gallagher (and Brereton) of late, they do try and work hard. Chapman mopes around with his head down and doesn't get stuck in if things aren't going his way. In fact he doesn't really get stuck in at the best of times. Valid comparison with Samuel though, mopes around and doesn't try a leg at times, I hate that shit! Chapman does look to have something about him though , so I do hope it works out for him here.
  19. Ya, because we have been average at best since the return Tony!
  20. I don't think so. He is clearly highly rated and that's peanuts. We arguably sold Raya for less than he is worth, but that isn't the norm in recent seasons. Lets look at our most sell-able assets, I would say it's this 5 , in this order 1-Dack 2-Armstrong 3-Lenihan 4-Travis 5-Nyambe Out of them, I would say the most likely to leave is Armstrong or Nyambe, but hopefully none of them.
  21. Could be an exciting appointment alright
  22. If we needed to win this to get into the play-offs, we would lose. Now ,with nothing to play for, I think we will win 4-2
  23. Different times. He probably would have gotten in a Mowbray team back then.
  24. I think if he improves in the opposition 3rd, he will be in the PL pretty soon.
