Quotes from Mowbray. We have now entered the Steve Kean zone. Read the last sentence closely. “Derrick has to be seen as a centre half in this situation. The flexibility he has enables him to play left back, as he did for all of last season,” Mowbray said. “At this moment he’s very much a centre half in my mind. “We will put together a team that I believe will be really competitive and we’ll look to be on the front foot, and let’s hope the defenders don’t have much work to do.”

He will fit right in so

What kind of player is Magloire?
-
Sharpe just tweeted that Mowbray said he has "no regrets" over letting Downing leave. Is that true? I find it hard to believe and worrying if he has no regrets. I wonder does he regret not signing a replacement? It's going to be Williams and Nyambe centre half tomorrow

Lee Johnson favourite for the WBA job. Would be an interesting one. I'd say their fans want Wagner -

I would be expecting more also, but I wouldn't be against this signing. -

Exactly the type of player we NEEDED. On loan , in January. -
Manager or Players to blame?
Bigdoggsteel replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It firmly falls with him, but you can't absolve the players of blame here completely. Mulgrew and Dacks form has drastically slipped and you could add any number of others into that category. I can understand why the likes of Rothwell and Brereton would be frustrated, but Mowbrays favorites, lets call them Mowbrays mob, have let him and us down big time since January. -
Summer Transfer Window 2019

It just seemed an odd critique that we are only signing a player from non league to turn a profit. I mean it's logical to think that if he does well, it will be good for us and therefore will turn a profit. We have seen what 7 million gets you, so I wouldn't see an issue with taking a chance on this fella from non-league. As long as we use our budget to get a few strong leaders in elsewhere. -

Is that not the idea? Has it not always being how we did things? -

No, but not every leader can or needs to be captain. -

You could certainly make a case for Lenihan. Possibly Dack too as I would class his work rate as showing leadership. -
He goes with the under 23s and scores 3 goals in 2. For some reason this seems to make him less likely to play under Mowbray. Bizzare.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17490686.rovers-boss-tony-mowbray-discusses-whats-changed/ Tony Mowbray felt Rovers created an expectancy level with their January results - and admits the loss of Darragh Lenihan to injury has hit them hard. Probably shouldn't have let Downing go then, eh Tony.
-
Wigan are going to be up for this fight. Will we? I could see us getting a stupid red early on. See, we have no controlled aggression without Lenihan. Just lads who do bad tackles. That's if they are prepared to tackle at all. We are a soft touch. Could easily lose this 2-0
-
It's pointless trying to predict what our line up will be. It's more likely to be close to todays team as it is to being wholesale changes I feel. I dread to think what our defence could be. Williams and Rodwell centre halves?
-
Nice.

Can someone with good photoshop skills please put Mowbrays face where Bill Murray's usually goes on the groundhog day poster and Williams where the Groundhog is. Thanks Edit. Actually that's a bit harsh singling Williams out. You can use any player apart from Nyambe and Graham
-
Mowbrays loyalty to last year's team is going to end up getting him the sack. I think a defeat against Wigan and even his buddy Waggott will have to be asking questions. The players should be ashamed of themselves. All their talk about how good a manager he is and then they churn out repeated shit performances. Losing both home and away to PNE and Wigan is really, really pathetic.

I can't see us replacing everyone and there are positions we needs to fill ahead of left back I think. I thought Bell had looked good going forward. Starting Bennett ahead of him was crazy imo
-
No, Bennett left wing back makes more sense, apparently.
-
I remember a less bad version of this happened after the international break in October or November. It's the holiday camp attitude. The players don't care enough. What has happened Dack? Talk of 25 million at the start of the season looking quite comical now.
-
How can Mowbray start Bennett at left back and expect us to take him seriously? How can he start Reed or Bennett on the right ahead of Rothwell? How can he continue to play Williams? He has lost the plot.
