  1. No, but I am cautious about us drawing too many. If we draw tonight, that will give us 6 points from 4 games. It's not great like. We need to turn draws into wins. Would shoot us right up the table
  2. I haven't really researched it, but I don't understand this super 8 stuff at all. It hasn't been a success anyway. The hurling was far better than the football this year. I enjoy watching both, but I am getting a bit bored of Dublin winning the football every year now. Ah, it's a great day out. I'm from Tipperary ,so I have had a few good days out at both semis and finals. You really can't beat it for banter. Tickets are steep alright though. Crowds were noticeably down across the board this year, be a shame if this is the new norm. Croke park does not look or feel great when not at capacity
  3. The same thing is happening with GAA over here. With bigger TVs and nice craft beers it's always tempting to watch at home instead of going out in the cold, wet weather and having to queue for ages for a beer in a plastic glass. You can't beat live sports, but it can be a big effort to get to the games. If clubs are getting more and more money off Sky, the fairest and most practical step would be to reduce ticket prices.
  4. On the wages, he would fall within our structures alright. His agent is probably aiming for the higher echelons of those structures. I don't think he should come in as a top earner. Not good for moral. I would say his reasonable wages are attractive to us. If you look at someone like Lewis Grabban. OK, he cost 6 million upfront I think it was, but over the course of a 4 year contract, a deal for Grabban would cost more than a deal for Brearton
  5. Ah, it's not really that black and white. We should beat them going off our starts to the season, but ultimately some results happen in isolation to the rest of your season. We bet Newcastle twice the season they won the league and we got relegated
  6. That's exactly it. Mowbray is acutely aware of this. We need quality though, not quantity and in fairness to Mowbray he is being patient.
  7. They are 2 good loan signings and QPR have done well to pull them off, but I do think that are being hurt by sanctions. Ultimately the 2 lads are on loan and we don't know the breakdown on who is paying their wages. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple will leave there before the deadline either. It could be a case of loans being brought in to allow for players to be sold.
  8. AOP being the most recent casualties. The guys look like beasts, get built up as monsters on NXT and win the tag titles. Next thing they get called up to the main roster and are losing to Apollo worldwide on a weekly basis. It is pointless. You would wonder if it's deliberate from Vince, maybe he doesn't want the limelight taken.
  9. Reading around it seems the sell on clause is whats holding this deal up. I would imagine Forest are looking for 25-30% arguing that we are paying 8 million ,whereas he is worth 12 million. If we spend 8 million we should tell them to do one and be happy with 5-10%. We will probably end up at around 15-20% though. This better not rattle on now up to the next deadline
  10. So much potential and talent in Smackdown and Raw, but it's being run very badly. A glimmer of improvement this week mind. Lets see though. I watched a doc last week by Jeremy Borash called Forever hardcore. It is free to watch on YouTube. Really interesting, it's based on interviews with old ECW guys. I would describe it is as warts and all, in a good way. New Jack genuinely scared me.
  11. My reservations around signing Chapman are based on his injury record in the last 12 months. I think its a fair enough view point I said I am cautious about us spending £8 million on Brearton , but that what I have seen and read about him is positive and realistically with the money being spent on players, we need to join the party somewhere.
  12. I watched some of Richoets matches whilst in Lucha underground playing Prince Puma. My god that guy can go. I remember watching one completely engrossed a few months back. It was one of the things that got me back in to wrestling. The stuff he does would have your jaw on the floor. He can do the grapply stuff, but also this unique high flying stuff. A serious athlete
  13. Ya, I wonder who does the negotiations for us. Does anybody know?
  14. Is Cheston the main transfer negotiator or how does it work?
  15. He is injured again, his 3rd in less than a year. I would be very cautious about signing him now at this stage.
  16. Its great to see, especially with Nyambe, Raya and Lenihan. Could nearly add Travis into the £5 million category if he sticks around the 1st team this season. I think Mowbray is key in keeping this bunch together
  17. Irish hat on here, I reckon Lenihan will be worth £10 million plus after this season. Hopefully Balaji doesn't see your post
  18. Nixon tweeted the other night that the Brearton deal would work out costing us less than a deal for Gallagher.
  19. It was reported United and Liverpool were interested, but when those links were mentioned the response from some was "take that with a pinch of salt", "if they wanted him they would have signed him", "Top 6 clubs are linked with all good youngsters who come on the scene".. I bet if Wigan were about to sign him, the discussion would be how he is an amazing player, Liverpool and United wanted him, why can't we compete, etc etc Anyways, at least nobody has been on asking who his agent is...yet
  20. What cons? All I see has happened the lad is that the manager doesn't fancy him. I don't see the fact we don't have competition for him(that we know of) as a concern. £8 million is huge money for us, so I would be cautious. I think it's safe to say that if we do sign him, we will all hope 200% that he is a success.
  21. I don't shoot anyone down. Some are just overly sensitive to having their points picked up on or debated. That's ultimately what this comes down to. Personally I think "happy clapper" is an insult, although it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, whereas saying someones point of view is negative is just an opinion on their discussion point. I wouldn't categorize both as the same, although that seems to be the way things are here. Anyways, to answer your earlier question, no we haven't signed anyone this week, yet
  22. He has won the Dutch league and got Boro to a European final as well. He did ok with Derby too. He seems to either do well or fail miserably, never in the middle. I'd say its a safe bet he will be sacked by the time we play them in November.
  23. Ya and especially a team who has lost 3 on the bounce. If we burst out of the blocks and get a goal, it will knock the stuffing out of them. If we are overly cautious and invite these into the game, allowing them to build confidence, we could be in trouble. As you say, we will know after 5 minutes which Rovers have shown up. I just have a bad feeling it will be the flat one....
