  1. They knew(thought) the budget was 500,000 at the beginng of the summer and then 4 million on deadline day after we bid for Freeman ? So, ya, as you say, no on really has a clue. I know it's gas some of the stuff people are coming out with about these bids/signings
  2. Mowbray said 3.5. He said Dack is the . 5. I would see Dack as more of an attacker than defender or midfielder. No, that's not what I'm saying. I am saying if fans don't know anything about the player, how do they know what he gives us? You said Freeman is a natural number 10, that's not the case as he played most of his career on the left.
  3. Ya, of course fans can have concerns. But if the have never seen the player play or cannot suggest an alternative in the same price range, I just find their input boring. I have even read some posters suggest conspiracy theories about the deal. That's silly. It's been mentioned many times before, Freeman has played most of his career left mid. So you aren't correct saying number 10 is his natural role. Most recent, yes, but natural, I wouldn't say that. He seems comfortable in both.
  4. Ya, but no one was outraged when Lowe left, becuase he is rubbish. Home grown lads leaving only upsets fans if the players are quality. Karanka is risking upsetting forest fans with this deal. He could be gone by Xmas if they aren't going well. I think this is a calculated move by us.
  5. Competition. We play 4 attackers. If they sign they will understand that their place isn't guaranteed. Whether they are happy or not is up to them performing and getting in the team then. I don't get the resistance from some fans to signing good players. Some fans always seem to find some problem, whether it's the fee or the position. Yet, when we aren't signing anyone, that too is, clearly, an issue. Also, if other teams sign players, they are the beers knees and we somehow missed out on them. I think it's a super positive time. 3 games unbeaten in the league. Bids going in for players who would improve us and offer serious competition. Players who the fans of their clubs, don't want to see leaving. When was the last time we signed a player like that? Dack and Bell probably, but at this level? If we get this business done, We are in for a very exciting season.
  6. See, plenty on here saying about value elsewhere, but few suggestions. It gets a bit boring. If you don't think the money would be well spent on; Freeman, Brearton and Bauer, please put forward an alternative. Not picking on you, you acknowledge you don't have alternatives. I think the telling thing is thay the fans of the clubs all 3 players play for, particularly Freeman and Brearton, are outraged at the thoughts of the players being sold to a team in the same division. That's a good sign. The fees this summer have been crazy, we have to join the party somewhere.
  7. It's exciting being linked with quality players, and seeing the team moving in a positive direction for the first time in ages, but I can't get my hopes up about these signings. Too much room to be disappointed. Amazing if we can get the deals done, or even 2 out of 3.
  8. So, about 11-13 million, depending on what the offers end up as. Jesus I would be ecstatic if we made those 3 signings. Sounds like we mean business. Still, one thing discussing it, another story pulling these deals off
  9. The consensus from forest fans is that we would be getting a good deal at 8 million. Plenty of them are perplexed that they are considering selling him. It's big money for us, but considering Liverpool and United were linked not too long ago, we may be pulling off serious coup here. Another exciting addition to our young team if we pull it off.
  10. I would like to see the same team as against Carlisle. Perhaps with Evans instead of Travis. Go at these straight from the get go
  11. I would say Bell has the position now. Can't see him being dropped when playing well. He took his chance
  12. Because the guy was coming from Hibernian having only proved himself in Scotland. Its working out for him, but if we signed some lad from Scotland and put him on more than our current players and he didn't work out, I am sure ye would be very critical of the decision.
  13. We did, but he went to villa for higher wages. The guy shouldn't be coming in and being out on more that Dack or Mulgrew etc
  14. Or being left out due to a move being imminent
  15. Or you could say we were unlucky, as on another day we would have finished another one of our many, many chances.
  16. Great win. Had a feeling we would win 0-1. Posted it a few pages back. Of course I did us to win and both teams to score in the bookies though. Any update on Dack?
  17. Maybe Davenport and Rothwell are better, but I think the guys currently starting deserve a few games there before ejecting them.
  18. 2/3 of the players we signed this window are centre midfielders...
  19. I think the game against Carlisle was the least cautious I have ever seen him. Ruthlessly destroying a league 2 club with no mercy. Then coming out saying Caddis and Whittingham can exit the building. Get in Tony lad, you ruthless man
  20. I'm pretty sure there was someone who focused a lot on it, because plenty of lads went over, most didn't make it in fairness, but a few decent ones did Preston are definitely focusing on it at the minute. They have signed the top player or two every year for the last 2-3 years. I would much prefer to see them playing for rovers. I'm delighted Lenihan has made it and that Williams is doing OK too.
  21. You could make the debate alright and I would agree. It sits perfect with me. I would think the same about the countries in the UK, wouldn't describe you as foreigners. However, for purpose of scouting players a new network would be required over here.
  22. Both were answers to people's questions. I am blocked from commenting on or retweeting his stuff. I attacked him over Steve Kean about 8 years ago and the ban stands ???
  23. They are, but by coming out with it, it shows Mowbray isn't a soft touch. If he don't need you, out you get.
