  1. They didn't look so good losing at home the other night
  2. Just googled "Milton Nunez". Wow, he actually is a dwarf
  3. The examples you give of players who moved for reasonable fees, mostly play for us After unearthing those gems, Mowbray deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one. On Millwall , you do remember they were in League 1 the season before last? They did well last year and have punched above their weight, but I would like to think that now things seem to be going in the right direction here again, our bar is higher than Millwall. It's not just as simple as saying you can buy someone who can do it straight away for the same type of money. Look at Ross McCormock at Villa, Scott Hogan too. Both cost £12 million and have failed. So now where are Villa at with them? Factor in their wages, which would be a lot more than Brereton and you are looking at Villa being in the hole for around £20 million on each player if they see out their contracts. Forest signed Grabban for £6 million, if he doesn't work out, what will his sell on value be? Even if he does work out and plays well for 3 seasons, he will have no sell on value and they have also forked out millions in wages. Brereton is a risk too, but if it works out , it could be a far better deal for us in the long run
  4. Everton must wear their 3rd kit when lost in derelict buildings. The players look fairly relaxed about it
  5. Ok, that makes sense. I can't keep up with the lingo these days at all. I thought it sounded like an odd move for all involved
  6. It's hard to know what to believe. We bid 5 million, we didn't bid it. A premier league club bid 10 million. I am lost to be honest. I would say we have money, but I can't see us spending an 8 figure sum on Brereton or anyone for that matter. I would 6 million plus add ons, at most
  7. Didn't someone say on here yesterday that he was gone to Fleetwood? I just checked online now though and it seems not. Did I dream that??
  8. I would rather spend £10 million on potential, than not spend it at all!
  9. Well that will be subjective. Many on here were naming Maddison as being the marquee signing they wanted and we needed, and look where he has ended up. I am all for discussion and alternative signings being suggested, but I don't like when fans say "oh its too much ,we shouldn't sign him" without suggesting an alternative or even a reason why, apart from the transfer fee. Players are moving for inflated fees across the board, we need to get involved at some point. If paying the premium for potential is one option , give it to me any day over signing the likes of Murphy , Etuhu or their ilk.
  10. I can see this Brereton deal breaking down and us going elsewhere. I get the feeling Forest are pricking around and looking for too much. I think if we do sign him though, fans need to just forget about the fee. At the end of the day it makes no difference to us how much he cost, ultimately all that will matter is if he delivers. Most on here thought at the beginning of the window that we didn't have a pot to piss in, so actually signing a player for a decent fee should be seen as a positive and exciting step.
  11. Well, after reading the last few pages, I am no closer to knowing anything concrete about the Brearton deal!
  12. He thought he was running towards goal. Poor lad. Get the head up Jason!
  13. I really hope Lenihan has a good run at this season. He had a poor game yesterday, but I think he will have a very good season if he stays fit
  14. Played a few games in pre-season and did ok apparently. Their fans weren't happy about a potential deal though. I'm not sure why it eventually broke down
  15. I would say 20,000 would be fine, maybe even 18,000
  16. It matters if true. No proof that is the case. Hence I meant it ultimately doesn't matter as we can debate whether he is playing better for a contract or because of some other factor such as playing under Mowbray or just being fit. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that he keeps it up
  17. They were absolute stone wall. The attendance did look poor but what can be done. Has a team ever reduced the size of their stadium? Ewood is too big for what the club needs
  18. Clement didn't think the 2nd one was a penalty, ha ha, managers are hilarious http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16594853.reading-boss-unhappy-with-award-of-second-rovers-penalty/?ref=mac
  19. Or maybe it's because he has kept injury free for a good while. Ultimately, does it matter?
