  1. Richie never got suspended in fairness to him. In fact he hadn't been the same player since then. It's like getting that many yellows made him re-evaluate shit with regards his style of play. Shame, because he was flying into way more tackles then.
  2. Whatever about being dropped, there is no chance Smallwood will leave
  3. Ya, 18 of which were in league 1 and the rest in two seasons. He has had more seasons where he hasn't reached double figures than has. I wouldn't say no to him, but for 7 million, meh
  4. I think its safe to say Davenport shouldn't be in that list. You are right on the rest. Although I hope Mowbray hasn't ruled putting Bennett in the middle out totally
  5. Not being smart, but who proven could we get for 5-6 million or even on loan? People might say Bamford, but he isn't proven in my eyes. We have Graham, I like idea of him having an apprentice
  6. I don't think a strikers goalscoring record is the be all and end all. Hear me out... We are fortunate that our midfielders score, a big mobile lad upfront could create even more space for them to exploit. Graham is a good finisher and excellent at holding the ball up, but he isn't the quickest. Rhodes has a savage goalscoring record to a point. Would people start him instead of Graham? I like Rhodes, but he wouldn't suit us now. Mowbray obviously sees something in Brearton that will help the team. Also, he is only 19,so has a lot of time to learn and improve
  7. He looks like an 'ard bastard! Seriously though, he looks the same now as he did when he was playing. Has looked 55 all his life
  8. With Mowbrays comments about Graham having a stiff knee, I would be surprised if Armstrong starts upfront on Saturday.
  9. Indeed. I think it will always be a risk with us spending that kind of cash, particularly as its kind of come out of the blue this time around. Perhaps you aren't unfair calling them middling, but comparing signing Brearton to bunking up with a one toothed hag from Padiham, definitely is! Even though it's an hilarious analogy
  10. I wouldn't look too much into his goal scoring stats off wiki or wherever. That doesn't represent how many games were from the bench. Forrest have also struggled in recent seasons. I think the comment about him not being in the plans of a "middling" team are also a tad unfair. They have spent a fortune this season, whether that works out or not remains to be seen. Their manager has his views about who should be involved in the squads, he could be way off the mark. This could turn out to be a nice steal by us if we pull it off. Always a risk, but when you see some of the fees players are going for, we need to get in on the party somewhere. I doubt it will be for 7 million anyway. I see the fee being lower with a sell on clause.
  11. I only know Rodney from Soccer Saturday. He never did rehabilitate himself after that questionable gag. I must check out videos of him playing, I heard he was a player and a half
  12. Ya, that's 2 and a half weeks away. To be fair, we don't know the exact figures. I wouldn't be surprised if it is closer to 5 million with a considerable sell on
  13. He won't start ahead of Dack, but I think Grahams starting position is there to be taken, whether Brearton(if he signs) or Armstrong steps up remains to be seen. Graham may hold onto it either, but not for much longer.
  14. I would say one of MCarthys main strengths is taking flack on himself and shielding players from it. Whether it be their own fans or the media, he actually has it down to an art form. A little comment in a post-match interview and its all on Mick. He was doing it back when Ireland manager in 2002 I noticed that last night alright from Hurst. I thought it was a bit of a gamble, naive even.
  15. Dack actually reminds me of Gazza when he dribbles with the ball
  16. I asked you a simple question and you are getting all worked up into a huff. I just found the comment "that this is happens when you run out of time and options" to be a strange one Currently we are linked with an exciting player, we don't know what the deal will be. I don't see how we have run out of time or options to be honest. It seems Mowbray thinks this guy is our best option.
  17. You said this is what happens when you run out of time and options, what did you mean by that? Not sure how me asking you that question riles you up
  18. Very true. 6 million for a guy who won't feature probably makes a lot of sense to them
  19. Ya, its up for debate if we should go to 7 million on this lad. Have to trust Mowbray though after his dealings so far. Even when we spent 9 on Rhodes, he had a stellar goal scoring record. Brearton is a real "potential buy". Loan with option to buy would probably be the best bet
  20. Lowe to Dack. If ever 3 words summed up how things have changed under Mowbray. Since we signed Dacka and Lowe left, we have probably saved money, even factoring in Dacks fee. What Mowbray has done here so far is really, really impressive. I am getting a bit thoughtful here. I do like your gag
  21. I presume we must sense that there is a possibility we meet somewhere on the fee. If their manager doesn't fancy him and the lad wants to play, I am sure that there is a sweet spot where we could meet. It just depends on if that sweet spot is closer to 5 million or 12 million. It may be 7 million, which is a fair whack. No, I wouldn't be excited unless its a loan to buy. Whatever about developing players from the Premier league, I don't want us doing it for rivals.
  22. You are tying yourself up in knots We don't know what they are demanding, but it must be more than 4-5 million. Even if it's 3 or 4 million more, that is considerable. Double in fact
