  1. I think signing both would give us real competition and options upfront
  2. Nixon has said we are more than 50% there with signing Brearton and Gallagher. Brearton loan to buy and he thinks the same for Gallagher. Let's see
  3. I had never heard of him until 4.20 pm on deadline day
  4. Ya, I think the logical option is to start Armstrong upfront fresh of his confidence building 2 goals during the week. His link up with Dack was also great. i think his pace on the counter away from home could really help us too. As you say, Graham off the bench to steady things up and hold the ball would be a great option. I'm afraid starting Graham may see us chasing the game and needing to bring Armstrong on.
  5. 6 million is a fair bit for a 19 year old, when you consider that Leeds paid 7 million for Bamford who some on here really rate, and who,in fairness, has a decent Championship record. Forrest supporters may be saying they shouldn't sell him for less than 12, but their club is around 25 million in the red on transfers this summer. They could be more receptive to our interest than they are letting on. In fact, reading between the lines, I would say they are seriously considering letting him go
  6. I am pretty sure we had Antonnsson and Payne signed on loans with first option to buy. So clubs do it, I can't see Forest doing it in this instance,it will be loan with a locked in buy in January, but I was just giving the poster examples of how these loan deals can be structured
  7. It won't be a loan fee and transfer fee if we are buying him. However if we have an option put in where we don't have to commit to buying, then perhaps there will be a fee
  8. He lived his fairytale, not many men can say that. RIP
  9. This is our Bradford game from last season. A ground out 0-1 away from home to kick start our season
  10. Perhaps williams is more solid definsivley, but attack is the best form of defence in my book I think both are decent players to have. We are ok at left back
  11. I would prefer bell to be honest. No Irish bias here folks!
  12. I would take looking silly if we sign someone on loan who scores 20 goals!
  13. Essentially, it's the same as us signing him on a permanent before the window closed. All the risks are the same. Obversely, he could not get injured , score 15 goals and Mowbray could win manager of the month 4 times then everyone will be saying what a bargain come January
  14. I know what is meant by man anyway, and I think you need to act like one. I'm not getting involved in these school girl fights you seem to get involved in from time to time.
  15. We made 3.5-4 million on Duffy. Signed him for 500,000 and sold him for either 4 or 4.5 million. Can't remember which. In hindsight it was a poor fee considering he is playing week in week out in the Premier league now and is Irelands 1st choice centre half. We should have received at least 10-12 million. Anyway, lets not rehash the situation around him leaving.
  16. Although, to be fair, you are wrong, so just give it up! People will scratch it from your list because you got it wrong, not because it makes them feel better about Venkys spending. Odd defensiveness Stuart
  17. No, Mowbray must be frustrated with it, but he would be too professional and focused on winning games to make an issue of it
  18. It was a joke Stuart, saying "lay off the green til after 9pm" isn't a "personal attack" where I come from, no need to be so touchy because you said something incorrect and it was noticed.
  19. Gladwin 1.5 million. @Stuart, lay off the green til after 9pm!
  20. Didn't we sell Rhodes for 11 million too? Scott Dann? Ruben Rochina
  21. Yet we would all prefer permanent signings over loans
