  1. This is true, but it must be caveated with the fact Elliott had more end product He should have played them together more, but that would be far too exciting. More of a Evans and Smallwood man , that's what Mowbray sees value in
  2. I think it could go either way with Buckley. I have seen more from him recently than I thought he had in his locker. For a long time he was stinking the joint up when he played and people were clinging to any decent pass like it vindicated everything bad. I would be interested to see how he would be treated under a different manager. I hope he's in the gym this summer working on his strength. It feels like he will be starting next season
  3. Have they appointment a new head of recruitment yet? That appointment alone is dragging on. It's just typical of how evething is done at the club. At a snails pace.
  4. I don't know if Mowbray is capable of that, but Rothwell has never been consistent. If you look at his career stats, games played, assists, goals scored, it's pretty poor. Many games bypass him. Rothwell scored 3 goals this season. I wouldn't put him in the same category as the 2 you mention.
  5. We already need to replace Eliott and possibly Armstrong too. There is a lot of work to be done It doesn't really matter though cos of the manager. It will be more of the same. More baffling line ups, more inconsistency. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
  6. Not too bothered about Rothwell tbh. Flatters to deceive a lot and gets over credited for his occasional moments of brilliance. I would imagine from that list Lenihan and Brereton will be next to sign. The other 2 are the ones I wouldn't be so sure about
  7. Fair enough. The others have arguably more to prove than him. All extremely inconsistent or ineffective imo. I'm glad Holtby and Evans are gone though. The squad for next season is very concerning, ignoring the issue with the manager. Although obviously they go hand in hand The usual issues will be at the forefront though, the main one being in line with our general demeneur under Mowbray and that's a lack of urgency. A lack of urgency and a lack of desire to win at all costs. It's rampant throughout the club. Until that changes, we are only going to be mediocre at best, the concern is we could also be worse than mediocre, very easily. I would make us about about as likely to make the play offs as the clubs promoted from League 1. Hull possibly in a better place than us.
  8. He's the only midfielder who can win a header. Plus that one month where he won player of the month, added up to more consistency than Rothwell over a season.
  9. Obviously he has to earn it and shouldn't continue if he's shite, but he should be given the start at the beginning of the season. Well Buckley is a downgrade in the 1 out of 7 games where Rothwell plays well. The other 6 games , it's a toss up. Ya, it's not looking good for next season.
  10. I would be pretty sure that they do. But ya, with Mowbray as manager it's hardly a huge incentive to sign
  11. We can't just jump to 2022 and say that we are losing them. Some will certainly sign new deals. Others will have to prove they are even worth keeping on. We aren't the only club in this position. Players have power in these situations. We can't just put a gun to their heads and makes them sign. Johnson is worth keeping around imo and do we know Benno is staying? The Ayala deal might not look tha bad yet. He's not old. Just needs to keep fit.
  12. If they weren't getting results, their manager would have been sacked. Results are the bottom line everywhere else
  13. Can't tell if being sarcastic 🤔 I agree if you're not!
  14. Ah yes, not caring about results when you're not getting them. Where else would a manager get away with it
  15. Why don't you like Braun? He does seem a bit arrogant I think. I think it makes sense to release him. Big earner, but so many top guys ahead of him Completely agree on Lana. Impact for her , at best. Whats crazy abut Black is they just teased an interesting new gimmick. What is going on there that things like that happen? Keith Lee being released would be serous WTF. He had the trajectory of a rocket Read a rumour yesterday WWE might be sold
  16. I think we know enough at this stage to know how he is. Whatever about being boring, he no doubt confuses them
  17. I have my doubts, but it does feel like if they keep him around, which they are, now is the time to back him and start him. I would go Johnson ,Travis and Buckley
  18. Didn't watch the Ireland game, I have suffered enough. Curtis started though. Asked my mate how he played, his response "the new James McLean" He meant football wise, so I would take that to mean he's shite but works hard
  19. Could be some truth to that alright. Although he has been one of their better performers, even when the team wasn't
  20. I would be surprised and impressed if we got him or Gould over the line. In fact I find it almost impossible to see in reality. Hope I'm wrong
  21. Why would the likes of Gould or Mowatt come here barring we offer them more money than other teams? Which I doubt we can or will
  22. Ya, would be a great signing, arguably one of the best of Mowbrays tenure, on paper. Good age, in his prime and peaking still. Fingers crossed it's true Mowbray is here so long now, he should know what we wants and we should be ahead of other clubs with our business. Is that reality? Unlikely , unfortunately
  23. Uh oh ,this is rovers and I just had a premonition As the summer goes on there are leaks about Armstrong signing a new deal. This runs and runs. Next thing there is a few days remaining until the season starts. Then the Wednesday before our first league game we accept a bid for him. We get told "He backed out of signing at the last minute, the market is challenging ,but rest assured the money is there for January, young players ready to step up etc" and as such don't sign anyone by the time the window closes We start the season in a weak position and immediately struggle. What are the odds on this or some variation of it?
