This is where we are at though. If we were Barnsley even now, he shouldn't be after Keane. I can't help but feel he would be as good as we will get if Mowbray leaves though. All whilst these owners are here. As we all know, they have yet to make a decent appointment. The fact people still hold Lambert up as an example of a good one proves this

Couldn't even get the Celtic job 😂😂 Not sure if you're aware chaddy, but we are below Celtic in the pecking order. Why he hasn't managed has been answered. What's appealing about him has also been answered, but really , if you know anything about football ,you would know what's appealing. The fact you would take Mowbray over him still, after last season, is absolutely bonkers. 2 wins in 17. The man is going to relegate us. Literally anyone else would be worth gambling on. Can you not read between the lines from Downing and Holtby? He has lost the dressing room
-
Does anyone not see the signs that Mowbray is going to relegate us next season? If you don't see it at this stage, you could be in for a huge surprise come October/November
-
He hasn't been a manager for 10 years because he won't manage below a certain level. He didn't relegate Ipswich or anything. I don't think Hughes or Wilder would come here. Of the other 3 , maybe , but then again maybe not. Do you honestly think Wilder is realistic? Think about it. Why would he?
-
Indeed. I just have a feeling it would be a good fit. If all things were normal at the club, I would probably be thinking about other candidates , but the options seem to be stick with Mowbray or make an appointment that probably none of us would predict.
-
😬 I don't think you fully know what happended for the Celtic job. I don't think it was just as desperate as Keane wanting it. It seems there was serious interest on both sides. Who is better and more suited to the job? Now be realistic
-
It would be interesting to see who would be out the door. I think he would like a fit Dack. Would probably get more out of Lenihan. Kaminski would be fine, Nyambe too. After that it's hard to know. On that list I'm going off the assumption that Armstrong won't play for us again

Good pundit, world class player and a phenomenal leader. Plus he has won as much as Mowbray as a manager. I feel he still has time to get going at the management again and I just think it's a good fit. He won't go back into it below championship level I don't think. Having said that, he could come in and be gone very quickly. I doubt he would work for Venkys anyway
-
People can learn and evolve. He seems to have mellowed a lot to me and the respect he would command and the expectations he would set would be second to none. Would you prefer to keep Mowbray if given a choice between the 2?

League 1 again. Seems like it would be time now to go a bit higher, either with us or say in the Scottish prem. -
Surely would have dealt at £18-20 mil if they went there. We won't be seeing it now anyway.

He would be top class, but you would have to think that ship has sailed for him now -
Ah ya, I have no doubt there was interest. It's just hard to know where it was at exactly. Unfortunately we have taken a huge screwing here on potential fees for Dack with all this injury business. Football can be a brutal business
-
Fair enough an offer in, but not exactly that a deal was a certainty or that we were spending his transfer fee already. I would be interested to know how much. It was rejected anyway

He is almost 30 now and has played less than 30 games ,both starts and sub appearances, in the last 4 seasons. It strikes me he might end up at a team with a bigger budget than ours, who can afford to to take such a gamble. -
Take him all day. Been saying for a while I feel it would be a good fit for both sides at this point. Under our owners though, unlikely
-
I have doubts about how true this was. If I remember correctly it was someone on here saying a player told them. For all the ITK stuff floated about Mowbray being a cert to be out the door , I think you need to take a lot of that stuff with a shovel full of salt

That's no way to treat someone in any job. Not knowing what's in Chapman's contract. This rubbish. Is it any wonder a player wouldn't sign here? I think it was obvious Holtby wasn't happy for a finish either. Mowbray is a clown and I don't take to insulting him lightly. -

Absolute amateur stuff "I just couldn't get the pitch time," he added. "I'd agreed a contract straight away at the end of last season and then they rang me up just before pre-season saying that deal is off because we only have a certain amount of budget and we needed to get some players in. "It was disappointing because you go back on your word. I said to the manager that you don't really do business that way, I don't think. You've left me hanging a little bit now, especially at my age. -

God almighty if Downing thinks like that, no wonder we won 2 in 17. Mowbray is going to drag this club into relegation. Stubborn , arrogant man. Contrary to his repeated attempts to paint himself as a man of the people, working class hero. This club is never far from disaster under these idiot owners. God, my mates have football to look forward to in these times. Not me. Frustrating. -
No, I think most people are just happy for him. However, there is a very snide element to how you worded some of the above

Because they were both signed since we got a European scouting department. He signed players prior to those who he knew from playing for him or against his team's, with varying degrees of success. -
I suppose to be fair , that was the idea. The biggest issue for me was that we needed defenders at the time and for Windows after that. Hopefully he pushes on now and it really works out. Even if he turns into a 20 million player though, he still wasn't what we needed at that time, but obviously it would be a great outcome.

Welll they would hardly say anything else, would they? The fact there still isn't an appointment to that role tells you all you need to know about how the club is being run , unfortunately I find it hard to believe scouts presented Ayala or Pears to Mowbray. Kaminski was good I suppose and that probably came from that channel
