  1. Why don't the LT have an article asking why there is no head of recruitment after 5 months or why the manager is still here after 2 wins in 17 games? What are Venkys up to now? They are useless
  2. It's just a bit odd the one area of insight , journalism or breaking news to do with the club is this. They are behind the curve on literally everything else. They are definitely too close to the club to do anything worthwhile like hold the manager to account Obviously we all know there will be/is interest and he will be sold
  3. I don't believe anyone bid for him either. Greedy, moody little so and so ;) Ah no I think I take @JHRover point about the LT though. I mean they seem to know nothing of relevance about anything else to do with the club really, then they just put this up. Even if there is a bid, an LT article is just preparing us for it and also getting word out that we will do business, which I suppose we have to. There could be a bid, but it's definitely the club and LT working together to get the story out. Whereas the gutless cowards tip toed around Mowbrays future last year to toe the line. Pathetic.
  4. Too scary for me What's the clip in your avatar?
  5. Don't think it would get the best out of Armstrong, unless he goes back to scoring 30 screamers every week. You need him right up to get the most from his pace Chapman, in theory yes, but in practice I haven't seen it yet Rothwell probably the best shout. Although surely he has played there? I can't remember I haven't seen him, so can't make a call there
  6. I recall him saying something like formations don't matter (or aren't the most important thing, at least), its about having good players on the field making the right decisions. I remember thinking at the time, that's fine if you were manager and we had Man citys squad
  7. Even Forest who are owned by a head case, are a more attractive proposition that us. I suppose the difference is he is a football headcase, whereas ours are just headcases full stop
  8. Was that even true? After how he played here, as our biggest signing in some time ,can you imagine the grief he would have gotten at other clubs? I would say fans were extremely supportive and patient
  9. The problem with holding off for the "best price" for Armstrong is we do a deal too late and dont reinvest the money. It's either that or he is staying and we lose him for less in January is my bet. Peanuts.
  10. Obviously I hope you are right @chaddyroversand things do just miraculously click into place
  11. So you're hoping things just click into place basically? Even under a manager you don't want. This is perhaps why people don't really find what you're saying that clear, even though you keep saying it's clear. I would advise you not to be surprised if things don't just click into place. Mowbray being sacked after as few as 10 games is possibly the best thing that could happen and would give us an outside chance of doing something. The thing is they will ONLY sack him if we are doing so badly that it will be too late. I'm sure you recall they didn't sack him after 2 wins in 17 last season, so would they sack him after 0 wins in 10? Maybe, maybe not. They seem hellbent on him at least finishing out his contract. That's good to know that it's profit. We should really just try and swap him for 2-3 decent players so imo. If he is to leave.
  12. He would suit Southampton. I would be expecting Obafaemi on a permanent if they are offering £10 million though.
  13. More to a player than just looking at how many goals he has scored, as you know. He's a very good all round forward and only 20. Anyway, logically we should be replacing Armstrong with one of the strikers we signed for £5 and £7 million.
  14. Idah and £15 million could work. If we didn't owe Newcastle 40%. I wonder how it works if just swapped players? How does it affect his sell on for Newcastle
  15. Some reasonable points about where we are at, but I don't see how a combination of relying on the players mentioned ,many of whom are unknown at this level and Mowbray still being here as manager makes you think we have a realistic chance of making the play offs. With Mowbray as manager we would need to spend £100 million to go up. He has said this himslef. Remember you said that Mowbray said having a head of recruitment in place isn't important at this point of the summer? So why don't you take what he says about needing £100 million as being the truth? I mean he is the manager. Nobody knows the squad better than him.
  16. Ah there is an offer, just not what he will get elsewhere. Yes ideally we should have signed two players on permanent deals last summer who were better than Elliott and THB, but we don't have the requisite scouting network to even dream of doing that. We got Ayala, who is decent, but has issues. That's where we are at, unfortunately.
  17. Ok ,so saying 10 is spin. As he said we "allowed 10 to depart" @JHRover are you suggesting we should have locked Elliott and THB up in the basement of Brockhall and not allowed them to leave? Pretty sure that's kidnapping.
  18. So you came in and stated this. Numerous posters have asked for a source, yet you don't follow up and respond. Did you hear it from someone else or did you just make it up? Or have you a source?
  19. 10 + gone? Is that how much shite we have let go? Doesn't feel like that many. I have no issue with that to be honest. They wouldn't be difficult to replace, even under restrictions. IF you had proper people behind the scenes and managing the club. I think "Venkys" answers both your questions
  20. Agreed. He will do something ham fisted in an attempt to ground Brereton. Maybe he will keep him out of the starting 11 for a few games at the start of the season and put it down to being away with Chile. Whereas as some managers would see this as an opportunity to get more from a player, I suspect Mowbray will find a problem in it and complicate the situation. Be prepared!
  21. Well if they are super , super wealthy as in the case of the bigger clubs, that seems to be how it works. I think the issue at rovers is mis management, so even though they are putting a lot in and giving managers time, we aren't seeing progress. Those 2 things should equate to success or at least progression.
  22. Be surprised if we aren't one of the clubs. Would be great if not. Even if we had a properly run club with a good manager we would be in trouble in this current climate. The 3 teams who have come down are now even further ahead financially
  23. If that header went in, we would have been fielding £20 million bids for him.
  24. Until any evidence is produced for the Wyke link, it's probably wise to not take it as gospel.
