If only you were a mod?

True. Unfortunately we can't afford it. Which makes the pronouncements of Mowbray and Waggott about a competitive budget and quality signings all the more bizarre. Either something has changed or they were telling porkies to flog ST's.
-
Dack alone nullifies the bad ones*. Forever. *apart from Gladwin

I don't think you could argue that Samuel has been anything other than a comparative flop so far, considering how much of our budget he took up. Apart from that I'd agree that Mowbray, on balance, has done fairly well in the transfer market, and very well in the loan market (Harper notwithstanding). Dack alone could be worth anything up to £20m by next summer if he carries on where he left off last year. Mowbray's best work this summer has been getting our best players tied down to long-term contracts. A fair chunk of his 'competitive budget' has probably gone there.

Tony Mowbray May 2018 - 'I'm excited about the quality of player we can bring to the club this summer'. August 2018 - Mark Beevers signs for £50k.

What Mowbray actually said was that Chapman was desperate to come back to Ewood but that Mowbray didn't fancy Chapman as a starter, which he also said about Payne. In the LT today it states our money will go on a defender and that attackers will be brought in on loan. So no permanent deals for AA, Chapman or Madddison. Mark Beevers has been enquired about though so that's exciting. It's a good job we have a 'competitive budget' or it could be really depressing. ?

Thanks for that. His pride at being from Blackburn and playing for Rovers stands out.

Great picture of Faz sporting said kit on one of those links.

That's a belter. Was it early/mid 80's?
-
Not to Mowbray which is why he has offered him a contract. That's all that matters.
-
He got arrested & charged for beating up his girlfriend.
-
It's ludicrous suggesting there is some kind of equivalence between those two.

I fear that ship may have already sailed.

Confirmed. Arise Sir Kenneth.

A disgrace he hasn't been knighted when other football men have been that don't have an ounce of his integrity, and didn't do what he did for the families of those lost at Hillsborough. For that alone he should have been knighted. A gent and a football genius.

I thought Gally was a decent player with potential. I'd love him back at Ewood. Not sure where the stuff about his heading has come from, seems like another BRFCS myth! Cracking header against BCFC. Nailed on penalty too that we didn't get. The team that day: Blackburn Rovers (3-4-3): Raya; Nyambe (Conway 45), Ward (Emnes 67), Hoban; Feeney (Joao 45), Lowe (capt), Akpan, Williams; Gallagher, Mahoney, Bennett. Raya, Nyambe, Williams, Conway and Bennett the only ones left. I think we'll be a lot stronger this coming season in the Champ

The Ireland thing was a joke. He was good until that thing appeared on his head. Simon Ireland was still better though. -

I've expunged this from my Duff-loving brain (3rd only to Sellars & Noel as my favourite ever Rover). What did Duff do? -
I've had a direct response in the form of an article on the official site. If that's how they want to play it.... https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/june/tony-transfer-dealings-bubbling-away-nicely/

No chance. McGeady looked good in a shit league, failed abroad and then ended up at North End. If Duff had massively underachieved he's styill have played all his career in the Prem. McGeady isn't fit to lace Duff's boots. And Stephen Ireland was a poor man's Simon Ireland.
