Rothwell is one of those players who is brilliant because he never plays. He's a talented lad but there's no football brain there. Yesterday he picked up the ball a few times and just ran as fast as he could towards the corner. The full back just backed him off until he ran out of room. TM was also going mad at him for hanging around on the wing when Charlie was about to put the ball in the box from a deep free kick. His 'best' moment though was walking away from taking a corner in the last seconds when he was stood at the corner flag and nobody else was anywhere near. The BBE had to tell him to take. Mogga was just shaking his head. Cracking ball for Nuttall though. Talented but with something missing upstairs would be my view. Probably why he wasn't even a regular for L1 Oxford. -

It was a foul but Nyambe was weak. TM also blamed Raya in the interview I read. -
Everyone gets the floating fan isn't going to spend £100 on 6 tickets for 6 games with nowt riding on them but that they might go to one game for a tenner. Well nearly everyone?
-
You're discussing price yet failing to acknowledge that forcing people to buy 6 tickets at an average of £17 per game is not the same as charging people £17 for an individual game. So if someone can't be arsed buying 6 games they won't be able to buy a ticket for one game for £17. Its like you've done a straw man or summink.?

The criticism of DG in general is bizarre but I think he was poor yesterday. Johnson has praised his CB's after yesterday and with good reason. They didn't give DG or Dack a sniff. Bennett and Rodwell were our best players IMO. Travis and Reed probably our worst. Poor day all round and the atmosphere was non-existent. I fear for us against Boro. They are good away from home and without Lenihan they'll probably score off every corner they get. I like to stay positive! -
Why don't they do 6 separate games at £17 each and not make people buy 6 games for £100?

So when you asked me if I 'understood' that we'd need to pay substantial transfer fees to improve you actually meant something else. I don't agree either way. Players out of contract or quality players from lower divisions can improve us. Ironically doing a Redknapp and spending A fortune on BB didn't improve us one bit. Our domestic and foreign recruitment needs to be a lot better. -

So we can improve without doing a Redknapp or spending 'substantial transfer fees'? -

So we won't improve then unless we do a Redknapp? -

I think you've just made that up. Fans just want better players. -

DG was far from exceptional and the goal we conceded was from a corner kick so it actually emphasises the point that we don't capitulate when he's on the pitch. -
One for you Gav?

Travis was poor today and if we hadn't subbed him he'd have been sent off. Bristol City subbed a player in the same situation today straight after he should have had a 2nd yellow. As for the game it was two average teams cancelling each other out. BCFC won because they could defend. We lost because yet again late in a game we gave a goal away. Apparently it's not a problem though according to Mowbray. Not the attitude of a winner. -

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17420511.tony-mowbray-believes-work-in-progress-rovers-will-improve/ All fair enough until you get to his comments on the goals we've been conceding:- "I don’t see a major problem. The only statistics that matter at the end of a season are how many points you get and where you finish. If it was a problem that really needed addressing, and we needed to be more defensive, we would have done that, but I don’t think that’s the case" Smacks of complacency. It's not that we need to 'defensive', it's that they need to be coached to defend better...or replaced.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17420593.mowbrays-drops-hint-about-possible-new-role-for-rovers-star/ Mowbray commenting on the modern game and tactics etc. He speaks a lot of sense. As for today, if Dack is injured, there's a hint we may go 4-4-2. Or possibly the 'wry smile' is a double bluff! Anyway, we need to win today against one of our play-off push rivals. Big game. Don't feck it up Rovers. . Ge-rin-to-em… -
That makes no sense. Rovers didn't spend because Mowbray chose not to. The money was there, Mowbray said so. In fact most of the 'complaints' came because we'd spent too much money on a 19 year old who isn't much cop (yet ?) Ticket prices obviously have no bearing on our transfer activity. As for £17 being a good price, I agree it's decent. But people aren't being asked to pay £17, they are being asked to pay £99+. For 6 probably mid-table games with nowt much riding on them it is a poor deal lacking in any imagination. I'd imagine the take up will be minimal, like for the rest of the 'deals' that the club have done (except one). The problem is that some ST holders will grumble at anything that undercuts the price they have to pay. Waggott in that regard has his hands tied to a certain extent. @chaddyrovers post above is typical of the mentality of some people. As an ST holder I personally couldn't give a toss. Give me a full ground rather than the knowledge I'm getting the cheapest deal in town. The occasional £10 ticket deal to attract people back to the club is not going to have me raging against the (ticket) machine ? Waggott needs to up his game if he wants to 'build a club'.

Can't complain about him not playing the youngsters but then wishing Downing was still here. The future is the young lads if they are good enough, not a League 1 player.
