Don’t know what the shock is here. All managers talk management tripe in most professional fields - motivational drivel and business speak from MacDonalds to Goldman Sachs. Football has a language in similar vein and just as workers on the ‘ shopfloor’ understand the gobbledegook and jargon of their bosses so do most football fans regarding the er, bon mot of the football profession.

Precisely. There will be thousands of people in work who are actively looking for a better job. There will be the same taking a job temporarily until something better comes along. Why should football managers be any different? JE presumably calculated that taking the job at Rovers (under conditions known to be dysfunctional to anyone in football) was a risk worth taking until something more appetising (eg not farcical) came along. And it has.

Venkys = worth £2 billion (ie do have a pot to piss in but won't spend in any meaningful way,) don't attend, utterly uninterested, a plaything gone wrong = zombie club Previous owners/grandees etc (other than Jack) = worth sfa, no pot to piss in, attend, love the club and the town, try their best to support it in any way possible, maybe the outcome would be the same in terms of league postition but more love all round Which would you rather have? I know my answer. (And yes of course, ideally another Jack -or would we be happy with a rich middle Eastern state owner and close our eyes to er, certain rights issues?)

Not for me. If we accept that he is at fault for the first ok that's 1. One top save to prevent a cert goal cancels that out. Deflected goal not his fault. The lob when he came rushing out didn't cost. Therefore, score could have been 1-1. Goalkeeping talk (and I don't think anyone is saying he is a world beater) deflects from the obvious fact that we were on top for a good 30 mins in the second half and didn't have the quality to score.

We’ve had protests, marches, banners, planes overhead, some not going to matches, chickens on the pitch, snowballs thrown, ironic posts here by the thousands. We’ve also had fans (pregnant and otherwise) intimidated by heavies in the ground, supporters shouting down protesters, stooges controlling narratives in the press, agents threatening legal action. We’ve had in response a press that isn’t really interested, the EFL who wish it would all go away, a fanbase that wants to just get behind the lads, managers who have attempted to shine light on the situation, court cases in India. Result? Nada.

Agreed. Given the lack of what we have, we may as well keep it simple. Get it out wide, no need necessarily to beat the full back, make sure Mak is always on far post (someone else on near), cross and use his height to hopefully win it and pick up the pieces. Full backs/wide players could hit it early and blind if it is drummed into Mak to be there at far post. Forget too much defensive stuff for him, just make sure he is always there in that position.

Funny old game -you never know. We could revert to our early season MO -low block (yes I know), nick a goal and defend like er, something that defends very hard. 🙂
