  1. The only hope with this one is that Eustace knows how to get a tune out of him, otherwise the calibre of player we're looking at so far is worrying at best. My worry is that with our current transfer philosophy it seems we're always one or two injuries from being League One fodder. That said, would I take Forshaw and Sanderson as backup if it means we actually get some real talent up top because Gueye is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen and we will be nowhere near the top if we have to rely on him more than Yuki for the next few months.
  2. Getting someone in to plug gaps behind Travis and Sonny is great and all, but as we've seen in the last few weeks if they're not at the same level we drop off in form. An ambitious team would look for quality and make Trav have to force his way back. But, we are not an ambitious team so we will continue scraping the barrel for whoever will play for as little as possible.
  3. Problem with judging at the end of the window is we've typically found ways to renege on agreements after the window has shut over the last few years. I'm amazed anyone is willing to consider us as a customer in January.
  4. Wycombe already 2 up against Portsmouth... I bet we create absolutely nothing against them next week though.
  5. Baker going wouldn't be a big loss to other clubs at our end of the table but is a death knell to us. JRC and Buckley at their current level are nowhere near enough and whilst Baker himself wasn't really effective it is better than the alternative. We've had the fax machine and paperwork error in the last couple of seasons, what do we think this January's Onionesque excuse is going to be?
  6. Weirdly, I took my partner to her first game of football ever on Saturday (she's always said she hates football but promised me one game, so of course I picked this one) and she loved it despite the poor quality and the result. Bought the third shirt as well whilst we were there. We live too far away to go week in week out, but it did help take the sting out of the result a bit to see her engage in an unexpected way as she said she's up for more matches in the future.
  7. First game live in a long time due to my location, and a bit of a sickener really - beyond the midfield we just have nothing to offer. The Dingles were arguably worse, but because they could spunk money they had that one moment that made the difference. The back 4 were mostly solid, and Beck and Brittain offered the most going forwards. We're really missing Travis, as neither Sonny or Baker offer anything other than shielding the back 4 which leaves Cantwell, Dolan and ACD isolated, especially considering the waste of space in front of them. Anyone saying Gueye is better than a fit Gallagher needs to give their heads a wobble. He's the clumsiest player I've ever seen, just every so often that clumsiness works in our favour rather than the other 20 times where it has given away a foul or lost the ball. At the end of the day, they were by far the favourites, so to watch a squad worth that much more than ours resort to constant timewasting, diving and the lack of class after the game against a depleted Rovers is a step in the right direction. We do however, need quality signings this month because too many players are passengers at the moment, especially those on the bench.
  8. Same story every season, we lose a key player as the fixtures pile up and the collapse begins. With the relative form we're going to have a very embarrassed bumper crowd next weekend.
  9. Well to be fair to Eustace I can't really fault the response to the loss streak, and he's proven me wrong in shoring the backline up. 3 away wins on the bounce and a very good win against the league leaders is a statement. The next 8 weeks will define our season - a lot of games in quick succession and a transfer window where a couple of key signings could actually allow us to keep up a play-off challenge. An amount of grit that we haven't seen probably since Big Sam, and it's been sorely missed.
  10. Can't be anything other than happy with these results this week, and good to see a grit and determination that has been lacking for many years. If we keep this up until January let's hope that the stooges don't sabotage us yet again.
  11. I'm not sure I follow, how does him getting an assist mean that he shouldn't be getting criticism for his abject defending?
  12. Hopefully we hold out but if we lose this from here it's on the manager as much as anyone.
  13. Can't see JRC lasting much longer at Rovers. I don't know what it is but he's been a complete and utter liability under Eustace.
  14. Someone please explain the rationale between never changing anything when losing, but then changing things when we're winning? Hope it doesn't bite us in the backside because it's been decent up until now.
  15. He was never going to be. His job is to create which to be fair we largely are doing. It's not his fault our strikers are National League level at best.
  16. Eustace should have gone at the end of last season.
  17. Gueye out. Gestede out. Eusless out. Waggott out. Venkys out. In literally any order.
  18. Have we seen enough yet to decide that zero experience Rudy should be nowhere near the transfer operations of the club? This is absolutely rotten.
  19. Yep, I said the same and a bit of flack for it. It was inevitable. Venkys have royslly screwed us, but Eusless ball is back in full flow. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when we were grinding out results but nothing I see right now is making me think he's up to snuff.
  20. We could grind out results because we have Szmodics to cover our awful defences mistakes. We got rid of Szmodics and replaced him for as little as possible, and are reaping the results.
  21. Imagine if Luton and Ipswich for example had had that kind of attitude.
  22. You don't understand people getting frustrated at 2 solid months of half-arsed, low effort performances?
  23. I was downvoted by quite a number of people when I said we'd be fighting relegation during the Preston game and unfortunately I can't see anything but. Cuts after cuts after cuts only lead one way. We've got a cheap, ineffective squad with a plodder of a manager and under Venkys we're lucky to even be the division we're in. Every season we have an initial purple patch and then collapse a couple of months into the season. Mentally weak and I'd take surviving the drop as an outcome for the season.
  24. Eventually we're going to start getting punished for these performances. We've been shocking since the Bristol City game, and I'm not entirely sure why.
