This is an interesting point to me. All that talk from Gestede about increasing the minutes of homegrown players but we've turfed them all out, so I've no idea where they're planning on making the gap up.

I look at that team and I feel nothing. I don't think I've ever felt less of a connection to the squad. Almost feels like on of the old Pro Evo made up squads.

For me Baradji is the type of signing that would be fine if he was adding depth to bulk out a strong squad. Unfortunately instead we have let all of our experience go and expect players like this to come in and replace them. Looks good in the highlight reel, but ultimately is another so-so player from a team relegated from a mid-strength at best league. In addition the injury issue could mean it's a complete waste of a signing anyway. These are always going to be gambles and are targets purely because they're cheap - some will work, some won't. A lot of our fans are lapping this strategy up as some stroke of genius but for me this is arguably the worst squad we've had under Venky's.

A good player =/= a good captain. I'm not going to write him off as a captain just yet but based on his history of a Rovers player so far I don't see how he is a logical choice at all. Well, apart from the fact we're pushing anyone who would be a better choice out of the club.

Honestly looking at the current crop that are in and around the team... too many. We've sold any of them that are actually good enough for this level.

If we could have our first 11 all game we may be able to scrape by. Unfortunately, the rest of the squad is utter guff made up of nobodies and children, so we are going to lose game after game late on. 3 games, 3 poor losses, and no idea where we're going to pick up points.

And this is where our complete lack of squad depth is going to cost us. Again.

We need someone comfortably better than those two rather than "competition". I like Yuki as an impact sub but Gueye is awful.

As much as we look bereft of a plan I don't what anyone is expecting him to do with the garbage he's being given by them upstairs.

He does a couple of sprints a game with no end product, but because he's being compared to Hedges that makes him look like Salah to most people.

I'm not sure why but Montgomery seems to be being forced in as much as possible. Even when he came in last season it seemed to come out of nowhere. I don't have the time to follow the youth teams too closely but usually I'm at least aware of a name before they're thrown in. We've had talent with way more pedigree that have had to work way harder to even get on the bench in the past.

I honestly don't see what anyone sees in him, just throws himself around hoping for the best and half the time it benefits the opposition more than us.

If this is what our League One team would look like it would be a League Two team very quickly after.

This has all the hallmarks of a relegation season. Pasha will love that as he'll get another round of cost-cutting in.

In addition to weaker relegated sides, the promoted sides are likely going to be much stronger than recent years too. Will likely be an exciting promotion race but we'll be nowhere near this time.

Even against a League One team that line-up terrifies me.

There should be an extra 5% added on to every fee for every player that played for us last season as well. What is the record for the number of players moving from one team to another in one transfer window because they're surely close at this point?

On the flip side, everyone is irreplacable because we're bin dipping for players and refuse to replace them with the same quality.
