  1. And yet still scored and conceded none, the bare minimum required to win a game of football.
  2. And I'm sure they would trade in their title for our zero goals and our "better team" blue peter badge. Only one thing is important, and losing well isn't it.
  3. I disagree. Much like our 5-0 win in 2002, this moment will be replayed for decades by them. Also bear in mind that in addition to winning the title, they have also more than likely ended any hope of the play-offs for us, and I believe that mark ten years without even a GOAL against them. The title itself was never important, but the location was vital. They will get the riches of the premier league again whilst we will continue to sit in relative squalor and the gap will widen. It will take a complete miracle of a season for us to close that gap now.
  4. A bit of a pointless comment considering Megson didn't get results either. But if you're happy to continue watching us do sweet FA game after game, get consistently embarrassed by our bitterest rivals etc then be my guest. Not a chance Venky's back JDT with anywhere near enough to make this football work at the level we need it to.
  5. Is it? I keep hearing that word "improvement" but if you're playing "well" but not creating chances/picking up points consistently, you're not playing well. Give me Big Sam's football with actual results any day of the week.
  6. Nah, Bournemouth are much more likely to just throw money at everything that moves like they did last time.
  7. JDT has already said we'll be fishing in the freebies market this summer. I have a sinking feeling we've just blown it and the gap between us and them is just going to get wider and wider. If teams like Everton and Leicester drop down you can forget going up next year.
  8. On what basis? We've lost more games than anyone around this part of the league and have an appalling goal difference. There are arguably few teams less deserving at this point.
  9. And with that the season is done. We may be playing "prettier" football but without a striker it is completely ineffective and has seen us blow yet another good opportunity. Broughton should be out of a job.
  10. Yeah but 3 gives us more room for error in the final 2 games, and more importantly ends that lot's unbeaten run against us.
  11. As someone who is just checking the halftime score and hasn't watched, it's amazing watching so many different players being elected as "scapegoat of the half" 😅
  12. Won't be able to watch but I hope at the very least we give a good account of ourselves tonight and at the very least go down fighting. There absolute cannot be a repeat of the performance in the reverse fixture as I don't think a lot of fans would ever trust this group in a big game again.
  13. Burnley have typically come unstuck against teams that play less football and aren't scared about staying defensively resolute for long periods. That isn't us - we'll just have to pray they don't turn up and I just don't see it. Even my heart says 2-0 Dingles, title goes to them and our play-off bid again finishes in an utter shambles.
  14. And every time they do the financial gap becomes bigger and bigger. The only way of closing that gap is by getting promoted but the board/owners seem to have no ambition to do so.
  15. Probably because it's the manager's job to coach them on how to reduce the errors as they mature, or to manage the game in a way that limits the opportunity to make the errors in the first place. JDT is consistently doing the opposite.
  16. And why exactly would he leave a Coventry team who are likely play-off bound for a team with no mental fortitude and no money to change that?
  17. If it happened once sure. It's happening constantly now, which is 100% on the manager.
  18. The three biggest games of the season (Sheff Utd, Cov, Preston), all fucked by bringing on Wharton and Brittain at a goal up. There's one thing having no striker, but JDT takes 100% of the blame. Tbh I wouldn't shed a tear if he wasn't here in the summer.
  19. This game is too important for excellent but no goals to be the benchmark.
  20. From recollection Morton has taken one half decent set piece all season. Is it another thing he is contractually obliged to do?
  21. I disagree, we literally just got goal of the month for a superb counter attacking goal. We are great on the counter attack, but teams know that and let us have the ball that we then proceed to do nothing with.
  22. Yep, GB and his "recruitment team" will be the main reason we don't reach the play-offs (if we don't) and it's a joke that he can sit there and be so calm about it all.
  23. I don't see it. I think they desperately wanted to win it at Ewood and they are far more likely to turn up. On today's game, that team looks incredibly short of goals. This could easily become one of the worst weeks in the club's recent memory.
  24. Great comeback, and resonable performance but not enough. We needed 3 points from that game and I doubt we'll see the top 6 again this season.
