  1. It's always like this for a while anyway. And there will be at least one team near the top at Christmas who collapses and one near the bottom who surges in the second half of the season. We've just got to focus on ourselves one game at a time and hope this new-found resilience keeps up.
  2. When did that lot get so soft? Seen so much talk about "parking the bus" and "should have had multiple red cards" this week and I can't believe this is the same fan base that lauded Sean Dyche as the second coming.
  3. You could say that about Dolan multiple attacks. There was an earlier one where he was put through by Gueye and Weimann was free at the back post and fuming that he didn't pass.
  4. They're classic Scott Parker - he spends a ton of money with a relegated team and usually just does enough to scrape his way to promotion. Massively overrated manager.
  5. On paper, I was happy with a point before the game and definitely happy considering how the game went. Referee was atrocious but seemingly only in one direction and to be honest they had a lot of possession but didn't do a lot with it. One question for anyone there - was the atmosphere as flat as it sounded on TV? Burnley sounded like they chanted at the goal and again at the sending off but it sounded like they were doing nothing for the rest of the game on Sky.
  6. Game over, what a complete and utter moron.
  7. We have to be careful here, we're getting booked for everything.
  8. Pears, Dolan, Hyam and Brittain having nightmares, but after a shocking start we should be 2-1 up so I can't complain too much. They're there for the taking for sure.
  9. This referee is completely bent. Wtf are these decisions?
  10. Erm... how is that not a goal? Or a foul at least?
  11. Tbh they've been pretty quiet all game on sky at least. There for the taking of we want to turn the atmosphere
  12. A complete lack of effort so far, funnily enough with a lot of players who also put no effort in 2 years ago. Commentators all over Burnley's amazing football but we just hoof it to them every time we get the ball.
  13. Pears with the ball has been atrocious so far.
  14. Overall opinion on the window is positive, when framed within the chaos that our structure causes. We should be able to spend more but alas for whatever reason that isn't the case. Not going to get excited about play-offs or above as we still haven't beaten anyone of note and Eustace has a lot to prove with the new squad, but we should have enough about us to avoid a relegation battle at least.
  15. If it's a recurring back injury I doubt ever to be perfectly honest. Which is a damned shame, he was starting to prove himself more useful than Gallagher in front of goal and was much more likely to establish himself at this level than Vale ever was.
  16. The fact that medicals aren't happening despite the fact we apparently agreed everything earlier in the week is exactly why the Cantwell one screams O'Brien 3.0
  17. The more I see "in the right direction" and similar the more I get the feeling that this will be used an excuse for why we didn't get half the deals we should have over the line when it falls through.
  18. Will believe it when I see it - O'Brien and Maguire were "marquee" signings and look how they turned out.
  19. Still major questions about both the teams and Eustace after tonight and if we get no one in and get turned over as expected at the weekend the relative feelgood factor from the start of the season is going to evaporate.
  20. This is exactly why I'm not going to get excited about a couple of wins against Oxford and Derby - we're still relegation fodder because the second you leave the first 11 we have no depth at all
  21. Unfortunately with the shambolic way we're run gambles are all we can get away with.
  22. Big week coming up and not one that Swag can afford to cock up. We've had too many transfer window failures recently and eventually that will catch up with you. Who know what the club model is anymore, because my understanding was that we were investing to sell on, but to do that we actually have to invest for that to work. The squad is looking alright, but as others have rightly said we do not have the depth to last the winter. If we can pick up a few players in key positions we should be fine for the season. Absolute priority for me should be GK, LB and a pacy winger, but depth at RB and CM would be ideal too.
  23. Keep saying this, if they refuse to add any money in and won't even attend games to run the club in person, then the club may as well be fan-run. At least whilst having no money we'd have people who had the best interests of the club at heart. The only argument against that is that a rich owner acts as a guarantor - but with this court issue Venkys can't even do that.
