  1. You would need to get the real answer from the owners I guess, but (and I stand to be correct) most people on here and the wider fan base, think they were duped by an agent, who promised them the chance of a quick profit. The owners allegedly did try to sue the agent, as he seemed to be running the club and things such as signing his own son as a player (he never played a single game) and sacking the manager who had us 6th in the premier league and replacing him with a novice, with no managerial experience, who just so happened to be his client too, certainly has me believing that could well be the case. Paying contacts up for established premier league players and replacing them with inferior players, also arouses my suspicions, but maybe that just me. Even after relegation, buying players such as Danny Murphy, Leon Best and others, also makes me believe that something a touch strange was going on, not to mention signing a handful of Portuguese players, who never made a first team appearance between them.
  2. That's exactly what we are looking for and to be honest, would be fine by me.
  3. That question has been answered quite a few times already, so of it proven and come of if speculation There is one thing that jumps out to everyone prepared to look and that is the destruction of everything that had worked for years, so it is hard not to believe that they wanted us out of the premier league as quickly as possible. They very nearly relegated us in their first part season and managed it in their first full season. After that, they nearly managed back to back relegations, despite us being favourites to go straight back up and have since managed to relegate us to the third tier and nearly did it again, this season. For billionaires, who we are told never fail to sign a cheque, this is one hell of a record, so something tells me they are totally incompetent or corrupt.
  4. I don't know to be honest, but I suspect that the director of football model has been tried and failed and they will go back to the traditional manager and CEO especially now that they have Eustace there to accept his lot come what may and and try to work with what he is given. To a degree you could argue that JDT did the same, but as we know he didn't suffer fools gladly and called both Waggott and the owners out. This will certainly not happen with the new manager.
  5. I know some people (on here and the wider fan base) will simply renew their season tickets, out of what they consider to be loyalty to the club, but perhaps it is time to sit back and take stock. We all have probably all sang the we'll support you ever more song and meant it, but I really do believe that there is some serious poison at this club now and it is that bad, that it needs to be driven out. It is no longer just the owners, we have people in sight and out of sight, who are dismantling the very fabric of the club and everything it stands for. Most on here have got a real feel for what the owners are really up to and my honest view is that we need to now start to vote with out feet. Even those on here who are renewing, perhaps an E Mail to Sw4gg0tt@rovers.co.uk just to check what the aims are for the current season, is in order. After all, it feels to me like the message given out before the start of the 23/24 season, that the project has changed and it was the aim for staving off relegation, was only done so, due to JDT highlighting it. If Waggott's aim this year is the same, does it seem right to any loyal fan, than we support this and let them get away with it, as I am pretty sure we will fail with the aim this coming season.
  6. I would be very surprised if the GK birth is anyone other than the rotund figure of john Ruddy.
  7. He won't be here in July. I would imagine any new signings will be the joint works of the manager (raiding his old club for some) and Waggott between them. The prospects don't look good and even with the funds in from the sales already made and those still to come, plus the Raya money, we will spend very little in my opinion. If we are not in a relegation dog fight again next years, I will be very surprised.
  8. If we are lucky, we will spend a few quid on a couple of gallons of bleach and a roll of film. We can then take some pictures of the filthy condition of the ground to show to Waggott and clean the place up, so that the ground looks half decent for the TV. No need to touch the Riverside as no one will see that, do that should save us spending too much.
  9. If I was guessing, I would be tempted to think that there are certain people from the very beginning who still need paying for their sterling work in finding a buyer. It makes no sense that despite all the cuts and all the sales that the losses are still at that level.
  10. It is purely and simply down to this court case. They were allowed to cover the losses and they no longer are. That’s left us with no option than to sell Wharton and likewise with Szmodics. Had they not been banned from sending funds due to their illegal payments, we could probably have retained Adam Wharton and got his real value in another 12/ 18 months. As it transpired, despite Waggott telling me to my face that the court would allow funds to be sent in February, as we now know that was not the case. It is being touted that August will be a breeze too, but I have serious doubts that they will simply not be allowed to send any more. To those who may have forgotten or not been aware, we were told it was due to a change in Indian tax laws that the funding was being cut, yet the truth all along was their illegal payments meant that they are not allowed to send any more funds without the courts permission and even that is on the proviso that they put a bond up for the same amount. That tells us all we need to know about how crooked they are.
  11. I have always thought the court case is going to mean they can’t send any more funds. With the funds already in, plus the likelihood that of a decent fee for Szmodics, that may mean we stay afloat for a season or two. Beyond that thought we would be in trouble, but hopefully it will mean they are forced to sell.
  12. If it was a car crash that he took over, then he has presided over a motorway pile up.
  13. The point made above about a 2 1/2 years contract is a valid one. Who in their right mind decided on that? Surely even a short term contract to the end of the season with a set target, meaning it was extended for 12 months would have been more like it. Had that target been based on wins, then there is a fair chance it would now been thanks bit no thanks. In terms of a replacement, who knows, but he would have to be pretty bad if he can't improve on an 11% win rate, as I think even I could do better than that.
  14. May I add that Duncan does this free of charge. Good to see that he cares enough to at least give some of the supporters something to connect with.
  15. Whichever way you look at what has happened this season at our club, if we do survive, will we have learned our lessons and will ensure it doesn’t happen again, or will we still be fed a load of nonsense about changes in tax laws meaning the owners can’t send any funds, which in reality means a court rule that they are a bunch of con men.
  16. Spot on and then all is swept under the carpet, as they expect us to rock up and buy our season tickets, only to suffer more of the same.
  17. I strongly suspect it was due to a clash of personalities between him and JDT but to loan him (and Buckley for that matter) to our direct rivals, is nothing short of pathetic. I know we will never be able to prove it and it probably didn't happen, but imagine that a small part played by Buckley helped secure a point or even 3 for Sheffield Wednesday and that sends us down.
