  1. I agree. It definitely wasn’t a dull game. Perhaps it being a friendly dulled the excitement for a few, but I found it to be a good contest. I spoke to a few Elche fans, who fancy themselves to give a decent account of themselves, in La Liga, so they will be a decent side. I might go and watch them a bit this coming season, especially if Dolan makes an appearance there.
  2. I spend time in both Almoradi ( Alicante area) and Oliva (Valencia area). Not free parking everywhere, but a lot cheaper than the UK like everything else.
  3. Stick to the autopista (AP7) it is very easy to find that way.
  4. So it would seem. I spot a bit of paunch for sure.
  5. Thanks for clarifying. So some of the attendees are not happy that they accurately reflect what was said?
  6. the norm, le leading to suspicion, as it does not take that long the minutes. Someone is opposing them, either the FF group of the club, as the writer of them advise they would be released by now.
  7. Yep, the certainly weren't bigging him up. Pasha.mp4
  8. I think people get worked up about it, due to these meetings being built up, as a way of bringing some sort of action against the people who are damaging it and spouting down right lies. Pasha and Gestede are the two main culprits right now, with the former apparently telling the owners, they do not need to fund the club and that everything is hunky dory. He is supposedly sending edited versions of match highlights to the owners too, if postings on here and other sites, are to be believed. Gestede is coming outwith all sorts of shit, such as we have an exciting summer ahead and embarrassing himself in some of the interviews he has done. Glen Mullen posted on here and on Twitter about how the meeting had gone and I know he will post the truth if minutes do not accurately reflect certain elements of it. People expect some sort of fight back and hope that by hearing some positives from these meetings, things will get better and have some assurances that promises will be kept. Maybe even a revelation from the horses mouths about what’s really happening in India now with the courts and the action being taken by ED. If we get absolutely no feedback at all, or a diluted version of events, then I would scrap the FF as so far as I am concerned at the minute, they are just an ego trip for a few fans.
  9. So they were rattled and the reasons for that SHOULD be in the minutes. The minutes have been written from what we have been told on here, yet no sign of them being published. No explanation so far as to why they are delayed either, despite a post on this site, saying they will be out early this week. Is it time to spill the beans, as it has become a pointless organisation the fans forum, if people are prepared to cow tow to the clubs apparent resistance to allow a public record of what went on in these meetings? Perhaps there is another reason for the delay, but I can’t help thinking the club are not happy with the contents of the minutes, so want them amending.
  10. Yes, free parking at the ground. I had to walk about 30 steps to be in the ground, from where I parked. I would say get in an hour early too if you can, as there is a lovely bar area and the seats in the stadium are a minutes walk from the bar.
  11. They did have some outstanding tax issues and had a repayment schedule set up to repay that over a number of years, but this has recently been settled in full. Hopefully their financial issues are behind them and they can become a stable La Liga side. The set up and Stadium they have, is very impressive. I have been to a couple of their games in the past and it is a nice place to watch a match. As others have mentioned, I would not give too much stock to the value of the team.
  12. I didn't see either so not too sure. Pasha was there though and got a cold reception from the fans. I am five minutes from the hotel they are stopping at and I believe they are playing a round of golf today, so if I get time, I might pop up and have a look.
  13. They played in the home kit on Tuesday, but may change on Friday as Elche play in Green and White. We will clash with either our home shirt or third kit, so it could be the Gold one, if Elche do choose their normal strip.
  14. We make our second trip in 4 days to the quaint Pinatar Arena on Friday, this time to face La Liga side Elche CF who should provide much sterner test than Qatar SC. For those who went to the game on Tuesday, you will be aware of how welcome we were made by the staff and officials at the ground and we can expect the same again. There were a handful of Spanish fans at that game and some are coming again on Friday, as there is a keen interest in the English game and Rovers are still pretty well known and highly thought of by some fans. I expect Rovers to start with a similar line up to Tuesday and make some changes, as the match progresses, as it is still very hot and drinks breaks will be a must. I expect there to be fewer goals in the too and will go for a 1-1 draw. it is a short trip for Elche as their ground the Estadio Martinez Valero is around 35 Miles from the Pinatar arena. I don't know if they will bring many fans though, as the way support, for the smaller teams, is not really as popular as in the UK although in some ways we could class this as their home fixture. Elche has had their share of problems over the years, including a relegation from La Liga to Segundo division in 2015, despite finishing 13th. This was due to significant debt and delayed payments to players and staff. They were in fact then relegated to the third tier in 2017 but have since bounced back, finishing second to Levante last season in Segundo division, securing their promotion back to La Liga for the coming season. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable evening and I will see a few familiar faces again, as we did have a good turn out and it was nice to share a beer or two with some like minded fans.
  15. Nothing said above? So to clarify, the club were perfectly happy with the minutes, but there is a delay for some other reason?
  16. Fair enough. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on and I understand your reluctance to comment further.
  17. I know you said early this week, so clearly there is a hold up. Given the feedback on social media, I am jumping to the conclusion that the club, are not happy with something and that’s caused a delay. I know you are caught between a rock and a hard place here, but have you any comment to make at this stage?
  18. Makhtar is fast becoming a cult hero. He plays with a smile on his face and his great passion shows through on this video. He may not be the best player to wear the shirt, but he is certainly only of the most passionate. Enjoy. https://cvws.icloud-content.com/B/AZFoncQlXjRAYpHCDmW3Hp1wRV3IAa8ZX85uNXkE1JywhfaDZg1V2clK/IMG_1020.MOV?o=AkOt-pFNvxnhnPTiIyBU7yjmffpmhWNIOdxxSAyEqhx1&v=1&x=3&a=CAogtWoXqmwZRpTo2RKUsFSU-BrA2rETEhEjRRjE5_dqt_4SeBCc9o6ygzMYnIaKho0zIgEAKgkC6AMA_zwYwzRSBHBFXchaBFXZyUpqJi2lehR4bU4_hRc4w9kZEszoQucbjNArodiwQ0j3wtkjeYeTIeNXciaeqyqyyPJtHJPk4mTPjgEg3ML76nrt-LN4Nh3xPnci63TEjZ4pyA&e=1755849065&fl=&r=BA68A937-24AB-4920-9690-F7CE085CD575-1&k=X1_cddbD5cXeab8UawfV3w&ckc=com.apple.largeattachment&ckz=88D8E182-F7C1-4040-AFE6-2BDFA8F5FC9E&p=128&s=iNihoppvEMA7YsON2yH5-pDlqWM&teh=1&+=69702bbb-be1b-4608-b183-eb5f96f4f057
  19. Regulars on this site know that. All on here love the club, but can spot the imposters inside the club, who are lining their own pockets and destroying everything the club stands for. Its not a matter of being negative, it’s a case of ensuring that they do not get away with it and bring the club to its knees. Some would happily see us go the same way as Bury, so long as they made their fast buck. The people calling them out, are bigger heroes than any player, as it’s passionate fans, who are quite rightly making a stand.
  20. I have a brilliant video of him at the end, really enjoying the adulation of the fans. I will upload it shortly.
  21. Just got home from the match. Game was a bit of a canter, against poor opposition. Stand outs were Cantwell, Tijon and Yukon for his goals. Great little stadium, lovely Stewards and bar staff and plenty of Rovers fans there, enjoying a stroll in the sunshine. Looking forward to going back on Friday, when Elche will provide a tougher test. There were a few local Spanish lads who turned up and asked a bit about the club and its aims. Nice to mix with them and have a beer or two with some fellow fans.
  22. At this rate, it is going to be Rovers V Rovers Reserves for the anniversary fixture. Hope they come in for our owners next. Free transfer of they do, so long as they take Pasha as part of the package.
  23. Hope there aren't as many red cards. 🙂
