Venky’s v Indian Government (a)
lraC replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Whichever way you look at this, why has Waggott gone on record to say, there is no impediment to them sending funds. Is it a bare faced lie, or does he not understand the meaning of the word impediment? -

If a NOC has not been issued today, they cannot send funds, in my opinion, so the big question is, was one issued? VHL.pdf -

I guess this come back to the questions I raised earlier, in that was a no objection certificate issued today. Thanks for posting this Duncan and clearing up a miss conception about what the hearing was about. I take it the trust are going to check about the NOC with Waggott now and perhaps, question why, he has chosen to state on previous occasions that there is no impediment to them funding, when there clearly is. Are WATR issuing a statement on the matter? -

They have already broken the conditions of the bond, so stand to lose it. They have stated the funds need to be sent to protect their investment. I don't know the terminology used for putting money into a loss making venture, but given that every £ seems to to drop to around 25p or less, it is certainly not an investment they are protecting, but propping up an ailing business. -

There are some similarities, between this and the decision to appeal the Lewis O'Brien appeal. It was almost a pointless exercise appealing that, yet they did. Was it to try to demonstrate that they felt hard done by and wanted to save face, despite knowing their chances were slim to none and the same with the court case? -
I think the time is ripe to attract new membership here, if this court decision, is anything to go by. I am not a member, but will happily become one, if this is now the time to strike and get some real answers to this issue. Is there anyone else on here, feeling the same way?

Agreed, hence a statement needed from the club and hopefully one that reflects the real situation and not one that appeases a few fans, who aren't prepared to question things. -

I am assuming the no objection certificate would still be required. Was that issued today? For the guys on the trust, would you mind clarifying that point, if there is any dialogue with the club? -

If only a certain Mr Waggott knew that, or at least acknowledge it, instead of constantly muddying the waters and claiming everything is fine. -

We will no doubt get the same from Waggott, they can fund us without impediment and a request for funds has gone in. To my knowledge, nothing has been sent since November, so it will be 12 month's by the time the next hearing comes and goes, so beyond that, what happens. As you say, hopefully the trust will now step forward and get some proper answers. -

Not a peep from the powers that be. Here we are a year down the line from the last amount sent ( assuming nothing now until at least after the November hearing) and we have no way of meeting the obligations stated in the accounts, of the owners funding the losses. Yes, we have sold £40m of players, but if this continues to simply rumble on, at each court date, surely, the club is in serious danger. Why the radio silence on it from the EFL amongst others? -

I have had a few smaller wins on Paddy Power and will be taking the £30 on offer this time, as I’m close to completing 50/50 since the City win. Betfair are doing one too on their Sportsbook site. It starts at £1,000 and is 12 questions. -

Thanks, For Joey Big Nose, who asked yesterday, this is one of the reasons, as I stated, why I don’t believe this will be adjourned again. I guess, we are about to find out. I believe there is a live link to the court room that I is being held in, hosted by WebEx. I will try to find a link. -

I’m struggling to open the links, but notice there is one to state that today is the final hearing. I know some on here, are worried this will be adjourned again and the can will be kicked, further down to be road. Are you able to provide a separate link to where it was stated, that today will be the final hearing? -

Quite a few things. The main one is the gap between the last adjourned hearing and this one. It was stated after the last adjournment that a decision would be made this time. Another big factor could be a counter claim, as it could be argued that preventing them sending funds, could hamper their chances of moving the club forward, although most on here, would disagree with that of course. The decision is time sensitive and the longer it drags on, the more of a case for a counter claim, they could have.
