The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

That cannot be true either as the WATR meeting minutes state that they can send funds so long as the equivalent amount IS put in a bond. -

Me neither, so yet again something does not add up. -

Absolutely and 100% what I was told to me face. -
Takes the blame for the January 2023 fiasco, even though it wasn’t his fault, gets let down again by others in Jan 24 and is then dismissed. Shameful really.

He has either lied to me or in that meeting, as one contradicts the other. -

It is nonsense and he knows it. Unless he fed me a pack of lies that is and the Indian journo is also wrong. -

I would imagine so, as will any fees for sales of other players. I would imagine we will go into next season with an even weaker squad than this season. -

We had £8m in for Wharton which was probably used to keep the lights on due to nothing coming from the owners since Feb. As stated above, the owners cannot send any funds at the minute. It was during the same meeting that Waggott told me, we had enough to pay everything though to February, but at that point he expected the court hearing to take place in February and more funds sent from the owners after that. Guven the adjournment I have to assume the Wharton sale was desperate, otherwise things would not have been paid on time. Since that £8m came in, we have had nothing from the owners, so we are probably quite close to not having enough to pay everything just now. -

Just for clarity, the owners CANNOT send any funds at the minute, even if they deposit a bond. The £11m sent in November was on that basis, so £11m sent and £11m put in a bond. The reason for the bond is the authorities want assurances that the funds are being used for the purpose stated and that’s been stated as protecting their investment, which in itself may be a false statement. They need court permission to send any further funds, hence the February and March court dates, which as we all know is now August. This hearing will determine whether or not, they can send any further funds, as right now, they are banned from doing so. This has come from Waggot directly in a meeting I had with him in November and since then, the owners have sent 0 simply because they can’t., -
The managers statements prior to games when asked if it is a must win and him saying no, when we all want to hear the opposite, tells us he is a glass half full, when we need it is a glass so full I'm spilling it statement. We have missed a tick with JDT being hounded out and the stale negativity will now ensure and we will have a yes man now to fit in with every other facet of the club.

Without wanting to have a go at anyone here, especially posters on here, this is exactly why it is so important that we let it be known to the current CEO and the owners, by voting with our feet. Yes, I know some have a sense of loyalty and will buy season tickets and go to the games, come what may, but right now, we have people purposely on the make and taking advantage of fan loyalty to simply feather their own nests. If we simply sit back and let them get away with it, the very future of the club is a serious risk.

It depends on how much she was paying me. -
How refreshing to hear and it puts our owners to shame. She spoke there with passion that is sadly totally missing from our owners CEO and any other decision maker at the club. I know only too well what the previous owner did to their club, as my late first wife was from Bolton and I lived in the town for a few years and know lots of Wanderers fans. As we have seen in a very short space of time, they have gone from the low that she described there, to what they are now and are likely to be in a higher league position and certainly far more stable than we are, very soon. For the people who seem to think, it is Venky's or the end, have a proper look at their story and think again, as we are more than capable of an existence without the Indians.

Just another thought on this and article the club put out in the telegraph. This statement from the owners, suggesting that the court case, is now just a matter of technical and procedural issues being ironed out, simply does not ring true. The tranche allowed to be released in November, was done so on the proviso that it was needed for the club to fund it's financial responsibilities (players and staffs wages as well as HMRC I suspect) and without that, there was some imminent danger of things looking rather grim. Given that the exact argument was put forward in February and again in March, why, if it is such a formality, would an Indian court postpone things for 6 months by which time, the club could have been in serious trouble, had it not been for the Wharton sale. The courts were unlikely to have known about Wharton and even if they were, it has now transpired that we sold him on the cheap, which could have cost £10m plus, just because of some technicality. Yet, again, something does not add up here.

Put another way, how many started at least 50% of the games? -
You have to read between the lines with Waggott on this, but the word should used instead of will, certainly tells us that he is not certain that the court will rule in the owners favour. I see this as a pretty serious matter (sending illegal payments is the word used in the Indian press article and no alleged in there) and can imagine that a dim view will be taken by the courts and it could lead to them being banned from funding permanently. One other things to consider here, is that it was put out last year, that the project had changed, due to a change in the Indian tax laws, which appears to have been a total lie.

I wonder how they arrived at that decision, when they know next to nothing at football? Perhaps they got some more of that advice that they have been seemingly getting from day one.
-
I don't think that's quite right. When they were granted permission to send the funds in November, they were told that it was on the proviso that an equivalent amount to this being sent, was to be deposit as a bond and it it turned out that it was used for anything other than the state reason, then they would forfeit the bond. The tells us an awful lot about how trusted the appear to be. One of the reasons given for needing to send the funds, was to "protect their investment". I have no knowledge of what is currently being investigated, but if I was investigating this, I would now ben checking exactly what that investment was and how it was doing so far. If it is looked at properly and the amounts already investment in relation to the current value, as properly established, then perhaps that statement may appear to be somewhat miss leading and given that there is a bond in place, maybe that could be at risk. All speculation on my part that, but if they are suddenly in receipt of £50- £60 million from the sales (inclusive of the likely Szmodics sale) then maybe taking that and the club repaying some of the funding they have made, may help, but to date all they are doing is sending funds to cover current and future losses, so hardly protecting their investment.
-
If they court hearing was a formality, we would almost certainly know the price of the season tickets by now and maybe even have a statement of intent from the club, to ensure there were some positive vibes, before the launch.
-
I do agree and would not criticise anyone, who decides they are renewing.
-
As stated above with the extra £4m TV revenue and on the back of that, horrible kick off times, at least every other week, anything above the £250 you have stated, will hopefully mean a boycott. A stand has to be made somehow, or where does it all end?
-
I know it was after the season tickets had been bought in the main, but I am sure people are still full aware that last season the former manager was told that the aim for the season was to avoid relegation. Before tickets go on sale, surely a statement of intent is required, along the lines of how the finances are, how likely we are to be making signings and what the aims are for the coming season. The old saying, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail springs to mind, so hopefully someone has a plan.

It is a knocking bet that Szmodics will be gone and hopefully if he does, we will get a fair price for him. Does anyone honestly hand on heart, believe we will spend even the figure we get for Szmodics? I assume we will get a minimum if £10m but no way in this world will we be spending that amount. One other thing to remember right now, is this court hearing does not guarantee that the owners will be given the green light to commence funding us again. Does anyone on here genuinely think it will be as simple as that?
