My lovely other half bought me Matty Jansen's biog for Christmas, and just discussing with my two lads the instability of a highly paid footballers career. Will the lad have the appetite to sit out a year and put in the hard yards to rehabilitate? Shearer was a completely different animal. I wish him well.

Tony in the Christmas toy shop. He is back to having carte blanche to pick a completely Willy Wonka team. He will go crazy, and Bennett will finally get to play in goal, and save a penalty, and we will be in the play-offs come the day (25th). It is a lovely Rovers day!

Manager, June1975- March1978, 34, youngest manager in the club's history. Signed Noel on a free from Spuds. Finance always an issue, and the signing of former Gooner John Radford seemed to unbalance the team, and off he went to the big city club somewhere in the Midlands. Fondly remembered by Rovers fans, thoughts as always with his family.
