  1. Graham deserved to be dropped at the start of the league 1 campaign, he was ridiculously out of shape and not interested when on the pitch. Credit probably goes to mowbray for his attitude shift.
  2. For those saying Armstrong wasnt comfortable out wide. I'd say that was only true when he played in the 4-4-1-1. When he plays in a front 3 then he definitely can play left. Take Bristol city last season at home when he came on playing off the left. I and probably he would prefer to play through the middle but if it isnt working for him I dont see why we cant shift him to the left or right to get him in the game more. Depends where the space is. I always thought that if he was pushed up on the fullback getting in behind then he works as a inside forward. His greatest attribute is his pace and when he cant get in behind I'd rather shift him wide to get him inbetween their rb and cb to the byline then have him dropping deep into midfield.
  3. Just thinking to freshen things up a bit. I'm not a big Chapman fan anymore since he lost his pace. But playing gally on the right and Chapman through the middle like tony did Saturday isnt the right way to play them
  4. Without Rothwell and Holtby again I think we need a rethink formation wise until they return. We need to keep the intensity and creativity of earlier games. With what's available I'd go: Kaminski Nyambe Ayala Lenihan Douglas Chapman Trybull Evans Elliott Gallagher Armstrong Either play Gally through the middle or dont play him. Replace evans with Johnson if you prefer, but he looked very leggy late on Saturday proof of which was his assist for their goal.
  5. I know people moan that absent players become world beaters in their absence but thought we missed Rothwell today massively.
  6. Get this left back sorted on loan by Friday and this has been a really solid window. The next problem arises very quickly though, contract renewals. We have a lot of 1st teamers out of contract out of contract and that needs sorting before the January window. In the current climate these contracts might be tougher to renew so if we a re not proactive we could end up with another rebuild next summer. As it stands we have a top half championship core squad now if we don't get promotion we will just need to add a few flourishes and prop up one or two positions in the summer.
  7. I remember him coming with a reputation of getting into the box and scoring a few. Never seen a centre mid sit so deep. He would occasionally take a pop from about 35 40 yards and it never once came anywhere near the target. Dross absolute dross
  8. Personally I think Rothwell's dribbling is very good. Just because he goes nowhere doesn't mean he can't dribble. It's his decision making that is often lets him down, trying it in the wrong areas.
  9. Hadn't thought about it really but now you mention it. Combine it with the current dispute around the premier league loan to championship and EFL clubs and it looks even more dodgy.
  10. Holtby looks like the player I thought we were signing. Johnson looks like Johnson from 3 or 4 years ago. Rothwell is a revelation in centre mid. Finally fulfilling his potential
  11. Nyambe decision must be contact related now as no manager in their right mind would drop him for JRC. Nyambe was our best player vs Bournemouth and at newcastle. Last week looked like a good opportunity to manage his workload. Now it looks like something else entirely.
  12. Better at right back than Nyambe? No chance Best left back? Possibly, Bell is naff but he is left footed. JRC isnt great defensively. Right wing? Only have a couple of games playing there to judge him but he didnt exactly set the world alight playing there. Hasn't created much from the wing in the first team.
  13. This is the issue i am having. Me and the person I sit with are meeting up to watch the ifollow games and naturally splitting the cost. I'm still trying to figure out financially if this is worthwhile. It looks like it really isn't. Why should I not just wait, continue to purchase ifollow passes then buy individual match tickets whenever we are allowed back in the ground properly (i mean properly not we will get a caution if we start signing). I would've paid that price if they could for example have guaranteed me access to all games on ifollow home or away.
  14. Williams and Lenihan are both injury prone i wouldn't be risking anyone key. Kaminiaki needs game time so would start him Kaminski Bennett Magloire Wharton JRC Evans Davenport Buckley Dolan Brereton Rothwell
  15. I watched it back and I think I was wrongish in what I said. Holtby definitely tries hard to close the ball down, but he is also out of position when the ball is played to their goalscorer and doesn't quite pickup that's where the balls going early enough. I wouldn't lay the blame at his feet for the goal. Johnson is in such a weird position for the 1st goal. I feel like if we are playing 3 midfielders only then we need more mobility. Johnson and Holtby arent 90 minute players for me. Johnson huffs and puffs, Holtby went very quiet after the hour mark. My worry is you cant have 2 of those 3 midfielders who regularly struggle putting in a full 90 min shift.
  16. Holtby does try to close him down eventually. He doesn't move into position quick enough once the ball has been played
  17. I know we need defenders but I thought the first 2 goals came from positional errors fron the midfield. I thought Holtby was out of position for both. Johnson was stood next to the centre backs for the first. Travis at least closed the second one down at first but only got dragged out of position. Midfielders need to push out quicker
  18. Its upsetting that we are still debating Bell or Williams at left back as it simply highlights how we havent improved on bell. It also upsetting as bell is better at left back than williams. Williams at lb is a disaster, nowt going forwards and more of liability then bell defensively as bell has some pace and isnt dreadful 1v1. Also I do remember Williams having a decent start to last season at centre half.
  19. Tbh I would have been happy to renew at a price freeze knowing that any game where I wasn't allowed to attend I could watch on Ifollow
  20. Pretty much every successful club at this level has a director of football
  21. I'm still trying to figure out we will set up when Dack is fit. I'm assuming we are going to stick with the 4-3-3. Could go something like this Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Someone Hopefully Not Bell Travis Holtby Rothwell Dack Brereton Armstrong when we defend Dack pushes up and presses with the front 2 so we defend in that 4-3-3 shape but in possession Dack drops back into the hole getting inbetween the lines and arriving late in the box. The front 2 can drift wide and try to get in behind. Width primarily coming from the full backs but that's nothing new with Mowbray, we would need someone better than Bell whatever path we go down. Then you have Evans (or Johnson) if you want to make that midfield a bit more balanced. Gallagher if you want to play with a conventional striker. Or maybe we are planning on Dack not being back for another couple of months still and we go back to a 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1.
