  1. I look at recent successes of Blackpool, Bolton and to a much lesser extent (because their owner wasn't there long) wigan. Blackpool have managed to get rid of their unpopular owners who ran the club not in the benefit of the fanbase and our now thriving. Bolton have managed to find a way to survive and get new management despite being weighed down by mountains of debt like us. The last few months has changed my opinion on the future of rovers. I'm sick of being thankful for venkys pumping in millions to keep us afloat, when at the same time watch them completely ignore the wishes and needs of the fanbase. I used to think I could live with this benevolent disinterest from the owners but I'm not sure I can anymore. They've missed another big opportunity to prove they've actually learnt something in the last 10 years.
  2. Scholes played a handful of games on the left for England around euro 2004. The Scholes on the left thing is a bit overexagerated. Also Scholes's form in 06 meant he wouldn't have started ahead of lampard pr gerrard at that world cup.
  3. Would we. I feel like we are over exaggerating the impact he's having. Has been on the bench a fair bit recently.
  4. I don't think even if you went back to a reserves league that it would be made of senior pros. I think those days are numbered.
  5. I'd have kept Bell as backup to Pickering. There will too many other issues to solve this summer other than backup left back.
  6. Don't forget though the club exists purely to facilitate these dream realising moves for players.
  7. Couldn't think of a player who has been here as long as Evans who I have so little affection for. He was alright for a bit when he wanted a new contract or in that first couple of months but beyond that he's been a passenger for far too long. Deserves to just drift away into the night.
  8. Maybe they are struggling to leave the 'mowbray is the messiah' club. I think it must be a lot easier to watch the games 100% believing that he is 'the guy'
  9. Rhodes was certainly not hated. Not rated by some but never hated. He was a very limited player, just so happened that the thing he was limited to was the thing that wins you games.
  10. Its very obvious rovers are going to struggle today. Cardiff are a massive side physically and will play to their strengths. Set pieces are a worry with us having such a small side. Hope we are up for the battle.
  11. If we were to go down that specific style of play route I'd be very keen. But like other posters have said we take anyone with a plan atm. Thats the one thing we desperately need. Someone with a plan. Because we sure as s### aint getting it from above.
  12. Anyone else interested by critchley at Blackpool? Wpuld certainly suit some of the players we have.
  13. I can see us getting draws but atm i genuinely can't see us getting a win. If we potted him now I think you would get a reaction from the players
  14. Mowbrays teams play good football. Do they? Weve played good football under mobwray for less than half a season.
  15. I take pride in the performances, not the results, I’ve always said that I’m a performance related coach and I think the performance of the team has generally been good. Thats Kean level delusional. Performances are not 'generally good' He needs to be replaced with a results related coach.
  16. Do you remember how everythinwould be alright when travis was fit? Always an excuse
  17. Has he gone yet? I'm finding it hard to come on this forum atm because their isnt much else to say. The manager needs to go, has done for a while (suppose their is a debate when he shouldve gone but I can't be bothered to have it right now). Whats worrying me is how apathetic I am to all of this. We just lost to the team bottom of the league who are really playing a league above their level, we are 1 win in 13, as poor a run as I can remember and YET I don't feel like the manager is in much jeopardy. Everything about that insipid display today for me comes from the manager. His excuses, him happily if we pass it around a bit. He looks bored and uninspired and that will pass through to the players. If he had walked away when it became clear that we were going to fall well short of the playoffs and that his journey wasn't a forward one then I would've had some respect for him. I think that window has gone now after his previous comments. Its embarrassing but I'm too apathetic to care right now.
  18. I've been having some intense debate with someone who thinks anyone who wants mowbray out knows nothing about football. He was giving the whole he is bringing through the kids and we don't have a playoff budget. So why did we spend most of the season developing other peoples players. Why did we sign 30 plus year old players on high wages and a short term contracts
  19. From those we have out of contract i would let go all except for: Nyambe, JRC, Rothwell and also (i will explain later) bell. If more than two of those leaves then its a big job on top of an already big job. Armstrong will leave. We won't get what we want and with newcastle taking a fair wedge (40%) and some being siphoned off to cover running costs we aren't going to have a ton of money to fund this rebuild. I'd be surprised if we could get anyone to pay money for gallagher so he can be kept as a backup striker (not winger). At cb, Ayala we won't shift and he won't be fit either. Magloire should be in the squad as 4th choice cb. Wharton unlikely to be fit until January. I would maybe take THB back for another season, but in general we need to cut down on our loans. We need to be having a look at Pike now to see if he is good enough to back up nyambe (or JRC should clause in nyambes not exist). Pickering left back. Bell back up, a lot of people will disagree with this but we are going to need so many players that a back up left back should not be prioritised, and bell won't be on a lot of money. Dacks injury is a huge blow for next season as he was going to be the goals. I would attempt to sign Trybull if the price works out, I rate him. If Johnson and Holtby were on significantly reduced contracts or pay as you play then perhaps keep them but under no circumstances should we offer similar contracts to what they are on now. Ideally, buckley, travis, davenport, trybull,Rothwell and a fit dack would have been okay. Now we need one more, i have this idea of JRC in the cm 3 but that would leave us short elsewhere. We would need a winger to replace elliot and give another option. So best case scenario we need 2 centre halfs, a midfielder and a winger and a striker Worst case we need that plus a right back, left back and another midfielder
  20. Yeah I'm still mowbray out i just rate tom trybull
  21. Much like the mowbray fans on Facebook are trying to have their I told you so moment. I'm going to have mine.. who on here was telling me they'd rather have Evans than trybull? Thought trybull was very good today
  22. I don't think this kind of suggestion is helpful personally, unless you have some evidence or even a rumour you would like to share with us.
  23. Going to be controversial and say I quite like Trybull, I think he is much better than Evans. I'm just not sure how much he fits in with whatever the hell we are trying to do at the moment.
  24. Whats bizarre is we were the top scorers earlier in the season and at the time were missing chances. Its all gone horrible wrong
