  1. I think in the situation we were in they could have helped push us towards the playoffs. Elliott at the start of the season was that sprinkle of quality we needed. And the two cb's we desperately needed the cover at cb and again that could have helped us get over the line. Although I'd have preffered to have signed a player permanently and kept magloire around. Once the playoffs are a distant dream (thats probably now) then the loan players need to be sidelined. You would likely need to keep one of the cbs in the team to keep us competitive
  2. But we have a year option on him. Bennett is out of contract and the City lad is only a loan. So makes no sense to leave nyambe out of spite
  3. Wouldn't want Paul cook. Maybe its just a personality thing. I don't think he would that much better than mowbray
  4. Really he should walk. He has had a fair crack now If he isn't the he should be sacked. Johnson on a temporary basis then have a proper recruitment process for a new manager. Give the new man time to have a proper go at it next season.
  5. The more I think about Nyambe coming off at QPR more confused and worried it makes me. Your 1 nil down with half an hour to play, Nyambe has been one of your better players, you take him off - why? Okay so maybe they are managing his minutes after all he has a history of muscle injuries. Why bring on a cb then? your chasing the game Why not bring on Bennett who used to be a winger by trade would probably offer more going forward.
  6. He need to get away from the clarity of coaching at Leeds into the Rovers grey area of do what you want.
  7. Staggered and performance based are two sperarate things. If they are staggered then they arent inflated. In fact most modern transfers are staggered.
  8. Its happened a few times where mowbray only stumbles onto his best team when his hand is forced. And personally I don't think Johnson is in our best team. He had a great spell at the start of the season but has never been consistent enough.
  9. BBC website says this morning from football insider that us and Preston are after Anthony Gordon from Everton on loan
  10. I'd have sacrificed one of travis or johnson. Most likely johnson but I feel like johnson is in to help us defend set pieces. Then rothwell could play in the midfield 3 which he is better suited. Then I'd have gone with dolan or preferably brereton wide left
  11. I just think you've got too many midfielders doing the same things. I also don't like the balance of the forward line. Both elliot and rothwell will look to come deep and infield to get the ball.
  12. I think Trybull is alright tbh. Especially considering we are only paying about 10% of his wages.
  13. I've known Mowbray isn't an amazing manager since Doncaster at home second game of the league one season. Even when he was doing a good job it's always been at the back of my mind. I mention it on here every now and again but it baffles me to this day. He basically massively overreacted to the defeat at Southend and set up incredibly negatively with a team full of logical holes. Team that day was: Raya Caddis Nyambe Ward Mulgrew Williams Smallwood Evans Whittingham Bennett Graham His time was up when we lost 9 out of 11. games in the second half of 18/19.
  14. Must say this is the most impressed I have been by Douglas. Having a good game is Barry
  15. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Braithwaite Douglas Travis Davenport Rothwell Elliott Armstrong Brereton Subs: Stergiakis, Magloire, Bell, Johnson, Trybull, Dolan, Dack, Gallagher,
  16. Do you remember when players had to arbitrarily wait months to start after we signed them. Until they learned how to play the mowbray way. Think that's gone out the window now thankfully
  17. Acceleration is more important than Pace, more occasions that you will get to use it. What he does have is good tight ball control, quick feet and incredible agility. A good skillset to have. From what i've seen of him his attitude is also bang on so there isn't much to worry about for me. Lads only just 19.
  18. Pears Pike Annesley/new Carter Bell Travis downing davenport Dolan gallagher dack It would be a good game to give buckley a run out but there are just so many others that I'd rather give game time to at this stage even downing
  19. I'd include Nyambe and even Johnson in that. They should be nowhere near this fixture.
  20. Brett emerton - Shrek in Skrek 2 when he turns into a human for a bit.
  21. I genuinely belive that Dolan in what 10 mins has saved the 3 points here. Big impact.
  22. Butterworth isn't really a centre forward. He is more a second striker or a 10. His pace gets him into positions. He is getting chances which is a good thing. I'd stick with him and hope he starts putting them away.
  23. The only other alternative to armstrong is Gallagher or Brereton. Gallagher - although he scored its a nope. His general play isn't up to it. Brereton - perhaps but his finishing is very erratic still not sure he will ever be a main striker. His general play might be better though. I think we have bigger problems than dropping armstrong such a scrambling together a back 4
  24. It does feel different. I would like to be in that dressing room last night to hear what was being said. I think amongst the better players there was an expectation we would push the playoffs.
