  1. For me the preference has to be a deal involving obafemi or Idah. 3 reasons, first it lowers the amount paid to newcastle as a %. Secondly i don't think we would be able to get anyone better on what looks likely to be a free transfer. And thirdly it gives us a tangible asset for to develop and sell once mowbray eventually goes. With the finances as they are it appears the club would prefer the cash.
  2. Where did he play out of interest? Happens with a lot of younger players, have talent but it needs moulding into a proper footballer. I must say he looks a real prospect.
  3. About the same amount as home season ticket holders. interesting to see wigan have sold 6k season tickets in 3 weeks
  4. That last half hour team looks very weak. Very little depth. I suppose we are missing dolan gallagher brereton johnson Wharton JRC but it's lacking so much depth.
  5. Apparently Southampton have put a 2nd bid for armstrong. Cash plus Sam mcqueen.
  6. Wasn't the samba transfer a bit of a fluke. His agent was supposed to send Emile Mpenza for a trial they sent Samba instead so we stuck him with the reserves to train. Then they quickly realised he had serious talent.
  7. Personally would be gutted to see Rothwell go. He gets me out my seat. Its going to be a tough season next year ad we will need all the entertainment we can.
  8. I think your right. We won't get enough of the fanbase on board to make it worthwhile.
  9. I agree with you. NAPM wouldn't affect them really. Really you need a way to affect their business india, that would get there attention but I've no idea how to do that.
  10. I don't think how we do will be determined by the squad selection. There's nobody he's left out that would've made any difference with the possible exception of the backup cbs in the case that maguire doesn't recover. It will all come down to his team selection. Maguire needs to be fit as if he isn't I can see him reverting to 5 at the back which could be an attacking move but you just know it wouldn't end up being. Interesting to see how he manages his attacking options. Kane will benefit from having pace around him but the pace options of sterling and rashford are 0ut of form. Grealish with all the clamour was 0ut for a long time. I'd start with Henderson A right back stones maguire Shaw Rice Bellingham mount Sancho Foden Kane Henderson for Bellingham after an hour
  11. I won't be renewing I will however be buying a ticket for the first game of the season and telling mowbray I think he should resign. From then on I'll do some away games.
  12. I think one of the reasons I've hoped for the eventually they'll turn it around approach is I'm desperate to hold onto the walker legacy, the stadium, the training ground, the academy. I'd want all that if we were to 'start again' and that may not be possible, but then again if they stay they will look to sell off the training ground anyway. I don't know how they go, I don't know what they want from the club, I don't know who would replace, but this club will continue to slowly die until something drastic changes and its more likely that drastic thing is venkys leaving than venkys suddenly running the club properly.
  13. I look at recent successes of Blackpool, Bolton and to a much lesser extent (because their owner wasn't there long) wigan. Blackpool have managed to get rid of their unpopular owners who ran the club not in the benefit of the fanbase and our now thriving. Bolton have managed to find a way to survive and get new management despite being weighed down by mountains of debt like us. The last few months has changed my opinion on the future of rovers. I'm sick of being thankful for venkys pumping in millions to keep us afloat, when at the same time watch them completely ignore the wishes and needs of the fanbase. I used to think I could live with this benevolent disinterest from the owners but I'm not sure I can anymore. They've missed another big opportunity to prove they've actually learnt something in the last 10 years.
  14. Scholes played a handful of games on the left for England around euro 2004. The Scholes on the left thing is a bit overexagerated. Also Scholes's form in 06 meant he wouldn't have started ahead of lampard pr gerrard at that world cup.
  15. Would we. I feel like we are over exaggerating the impact he's having. Has been on the bench a fair bit recently.
  16. I don't think even if you went back to a reserves league that it would be made of senior pros. I think those days are numbered.
  17. I'd have kept Bell as backup to Pickering. There will too many other issues to solve this summer other than backup left back.
  18. Don't forget though the club exists purely to facilitate these dream realising moves for players.
  19. Couldn't think of a player who has been here as long as Evans who I have so little affection for. He was alright for a bit when he wanted a new contract or in that first couple of months but beyond that he's been a passenger for far too long. Deserves to just drift away into the night.
  20. Maybe they are struggling to leave the 'mowbray is the messiah' club. I think it must be a lot easier to watch the games 100% believing that he is 'the guy'
  21. Rhodes was certainly not hated. Not rated by some but never hated. He was a very limited player, just so happened that the thing he was limited to was the thing that wins you games.
  22. Its very obvious rovers are going to struggle today. Cardiff are a massive side physically and will play to their strengths. Set pieces are a worry with us having such a small side. Hope we are up for the battle.
  23. If we were to go down that specific style of play route I'd be very keen. But like other posters have said we take anyone with a plan atm. Thats the one thing we desperately need. Someone with a plan. Because we sure as s### aint getting it from above.
